CHAPTER 3: Gotta Keep Ya Head up or Familiar Memories!

Well it's been a REEEEEAAALLLYYY long time since I've updated. I've been busy with work and trying to get back into school. I've also been working on a side (and hopefully bigger) project that's been making me focus my writing on something else. Anyway let's continue where we left off shall we? Your date with Alex went horribly awry quickly and we even get a quick peek at two possible baddies! Wonder what's in store for ya this time reader?

A new Day arises!

You spend a lot of time in the shower for two reasons, One your date with Alex couldn't have gone worse and two you smelled like fancy food something fierce (considering a lot fell on you.) 'You remind me of him so much...too much,' Where her exact words as she left you there. That scene played over in your head constantly as a constant reminder on how you were just rejected and liked looked an utter fool while being rejected. It was funny though, the pain of rejection didn't hurt you as much as the pain of seeing Alex crying did all the while it being your fault she cried. That hurt the most, you were so wrapped up in the thought of last night that you hadn't even noticed the water had become increasingly cold. 'Hey kid! The water!' Your brain cries out. You snap yourself out of your trance and step out of the shower and get ready to start your day.

While putting on your clothes your mind continues to play last night in your head, Alex had said you reminded her too much of "him" right? So who the hell was "he" anyway and why did he have such an impact on Alex? 'Probably her ex boyfriend, Maybe she really loved him? Or still does. Probably just broke up' Your brain figured, you accepted that and decided to try and get an answer. You step out of your dorm making sure you had enough time to at least make your way over to Alex's dorm and talk to her and figure out who this ex boyfriend of hers was.

You made it to the dorm in 10 minutes (man you must have been really walking fast) You went to knock on the door but you heard the sound of the girls. "So you just blew him off like that? Man Alex talking about being a bit rude," came the voice you instantly recognized as Clovers. " Cut her some slack Clover, you know it's a touchy subject with Alex and dating," That voice was Sam's. It didn't take you long to realize they were talking about you and you decided to place your ear closer to the door to hear better. You were a spy(even if you did just become one) after all and doing something like this was supposed to be your forte. "I- I didn't want to it's just.. he was acting too much like Virgil," Alex sounded like she was trying to erase that out of her head "But Virgil was your best boyfriend don't you want a boy kind of like him?" The response from Clover sounded slightly irritated. "Oh come Clover be serious, would you want the same type of boy all the time?" Sam coming to Alex's rescue.

"No but! He's such a hottie!" Clover's voice had risen and sounded closer to the door, you looked down and saw the door knob turning. 'Oh crap!' They were about to leave! You panicked and began looking around 'Crap! Gotta hide! Gotta hide!' Your scream inside your mind. 'Weren't you coming over to talk to Alex? Why are you panicking?!' Your brain yells at you, you don't really know why but for some reason you don't want to be caught now. You decide to hide in a nearby bush with the reflexes of a cat (a cat with some kind of brain damage) you jump into the bush and go as low as you can and make sure you aren't seen. As the girls exited the house, you breath a slight sigh of relief and continue to listen. "Looks aren't the only thing Clover, I don't think i'm ready for anything serious. Not yet,"

You look up at them and try to get a clear view of her face as she said that. You couldn't since the bush was full of leaves and leaves apparently have the capability to block out a whole human face when their right in front of your damn eye. As you look around you could have sworn Sam made eye contact with you, you cower away quickly and hear a confused noise from Sam but you assume she brushes it off as she speaks "Well maybe you should talk to him about it, you know without him being covered in food and all" This gathers a laugh from the girls as they begin to walk to the school. 'Oh ha ha Sam! I'mma give her a piece of my mind about this one day!'

Just then as you begin to get up Sam stops and tells her friends " Hey i think i left something in the dorm, you two go on without me i'll catch up." They oblige and Sam walks back towards the dorm. You quickly descend back into the bush and peeking around to make sure you see Sam walk by. When she doesn't past you in the thirty seconds it took her to pass you the first time you slightly peek your head out. "Care to explain to me why you're in a bush?" You hear her voice behind you. "ACK!" You cry jumping the bush like someone just let your butt on fire. "Well ya see i um.." You stutter as it became another instance where words just couldn't flow out of your mouth. 'Ugh! Fine let me drive!' Your brain mumbles but before he or should say you could continue Sam cut's you both off. "Lemme guess, even though Alex totally rejected you, you still like her and you came here to talk to her about it am i right?"

Figuring if you tried to speak, it'd be just more stupid coming out of your mouth you silently nod tears of joy flowing from your eyes at Sam's understanding nature. "I can respect that but hiding in a bush and eavesdrop may be good when spying but when doing it to your teammates it's a bit...creepy," You just silently nod again hoping it was enough to apologize for your creepy nature. "But Sammy-!" You were cut off by Sammy putting up her hand, "I know why you did it, you really like Alex huh?" She snickers while you nod furiously to her question. "But what do i do about that Virgil guy?" it seems though your question falls on deaf ears. Sam looks at you with a frown and for some reason that hit you right in the heart "The first person you love is someone you can't get over. Remember that, it's always hard no matter how they break up," Her frown become a scowl quickly the same one like she had before when you guys were briefing with Jerry. If your heart was in pain a few seconds ago by now it exploded in rage and grief. You hated seeing that look on her face and wanted to find the guy who made her like that and beat his face in.

'Where's all that anger comin' from kid?' Your brain ask's. 'I'm not sure' Your response seemed like somewhat of a lie, you hear your brain groan. Then before you two could argue you look back at who has a smile on her face "Whoa there tiger! Why are you getting so upset?"

You look back at her and noticed you hands were clenched and you now had a scowl on your face. "You look like you're about to blow a gasket!" She rubs your back and smiles "Aww cheer up buddy i'm pretty sure Alex will tell you sooner or later, now you should head to class. I'm almost late for mine, See ya!"

She runs off towards the education buildings, you find yourself staring at her and you knew you were blushing. But why? You were pretty sure you didn't like Sam like that, but she was really pretty. You should probably head to class before you think too much.

After Classes

You were contacted by Jerry and WHOOPED into the briefing room. "Sorry it took us so long team. But we finishing analyzing the video," Jerry's famous smile shining bright as the four of you looked at the video. "Pay attention to this,," He starts, the video actually beginning to play and you all see the video with Dr. Nishimura, the part that was blacked out was now being shown. The Doctor is seen working on something, then someone comes in and kidnaps him, you watched and figured this wasn't much of a discovery since everyone had already known. "Jerry we already know that he's been kidnapped, this video doesn't help us," Alex' exclaimed as if she was reading your mind. You looked at her and smiled, she looked back at you but instantly turned away.

"Just keep looking spies."

The video shows how was grabbed and placed into some kind of substance, the substance continued to dissolve until there was nothing left. The person then leaves in some kind of intricate way in a way you somewhat remember. "So did he kill him?" Clover gasped. "Hmm it's hard to tell since there was no trace," Sam answered immediately. "Shouldn't we have seen some kind of trace of that substance?" Your eyes glued to the screen, still trying to figure out why that villain's escape seemed familiar. "I did have my men go back after you four searched the room and there was nothing no trace of anything ever being in there," Jerry's voice sounding calmly irritated at the the thought of being eluded this will. "But rest assured we wi-" He was cut off by a beep.

"Spies, looks like another kidnapping is going on. I'll need you to move and fast!"

He presses a button and just like that all four of you are out of there.

You find your way to your target (somewhere in Russia) and the four of you run to the lab that you were dropped off to. Sam kicks in the door and the four of you notice the Russian Scientist trapped and there's a guy with his back turned. "Let him go ya weirdo!" Clover shout's running and doing a flying kick towards the guy. He side stepped and and elbowed her and she hit a wall. Alex and Sam went to back up their partner "We got your back Clover!" Alex cried, Sam tried to do a roundhouse kick to the man but he blocked simply flexing his arm.

"Sammy, Come one..don't you think i've seen all your moves," He turned around and tripped Sammy before she could realized what just happened and she landed hard, "Sammy!" Alex cried trying to punch the man, he dodged and backhanded her away "You might be the strongest Alex, but tact isn't your strong suite!" The man chuckled, you could get a good look at him as well. He was wearing a doctors mask (most likely to not breathe in any toxic chemicals) and a stereotypical scientist suit. Who was this guy? How did he know about the girls and their fighting style? You figured that didn't matter now since you could feels yourself reaching for the laser gun and gritting your teeth in anger after seeing your crush get hurt like that.

"Alex!" You cry pointing the gun at him, about to shoot but before you could press the trigger he bats it away and proceeds to punch you twice in the ribs. "Guchh!" You cry as you double over in pain, then he kicks you over and he looks you over. "Oh wow, so it is you? Looks like the guy was right. That's funny." He chuckles looking at you. You look back at him, the pain hurting like hell but you you muster up some strength and reach for the laser gun, He steps on your hand and you cry out. "What's wrong kid? Need your little lazer gun to fight me?" More cynical laughs are heard as he grinds his heel into the back of your hand. "How about you fight me like a MAN!" He shouted stomping on your hand. You scream again and breath heavy again. 'It hurts.. so much..gotta get him off!' You reach into your pocket and pull out the lip balm and rub it the ground before you. "Rubbing the floor? That desperate for that laser huh?!" Then he looks closer "That's explosive lip balm, ahh shi-!"

BOOM!

He screams and falls, while you look at him fall. Breathing heavy now your haggard voice barely gets out "Mess with Alex again..and i'll kill you."

Your victory phrase was short lived as the man rocketed back up with a jetpack attached to his back. "Guess you better be ready to kill me! Cuz you and all your friends are gonna pay!" His voice sounding intense and pissed. You figured that you were gonna die 'Good thing i said and did something cool right?' You hear your brain groan again 'Right because of ALL THINGS to be thinking about you would think about this uggh!'

"Try something and you're done for!" You hear Samantha's voice ring. You see her, Alex and Clover pointing the Wind Tunnel 3000 hair dryers pointed at him. The man does a low laugh "Guess i can let one go," Then he turns back to you and it's clear he's about to leave "Oh yeah, heres a message ya kid. Ready or not here i come!" He whispers to you then jettisons out of the area.

"Hey get back here!" Clover yells "Your stupid wind fumes are messing with my hair!" Alex runs over to check on you while Samantha checks on the scientist. "Uhh if you can, try and stand back!" She cried to him, scientist guy stood back while Sam threw the lip balm on the substance blowing it up. "Clover try getting some of that goop and analyze it," Sam ordered.

"Euch..did i really have to? It's so nasty-"

"Clover!"

"Fine!"

You guys took a while to recollect yourselves and then sat with the Russian scientist. "Any idea why that man was after you Dr uhh-" Clover began.

"Boris, and yes i do. A colleague of mine told me someone has been gathering up scientist to work on some kind of special project, called Hide and Seek. It's apparently hard to do and he needs all the scientist will work on it. I've heard he's using it for some type of world domination technique. Please you must stop him!" Sam nods "Let's get WHOOP agents over here to make sure he get's to a safe place. And after this ruckus i think we need to rest,"

"Yeah because all this fighting is bad for the nails! Ah! I think i actually broke one!"

"Clover concentrate sometimes! Your nails will be the least of your problem if the world is in trouble!" The two began to bicker once again.

You look at those two and smile then look back at Alex. Alex looked worried "Are you okay? He looked like he was trying to hurt you!" "I'm fine, just..pain really" Is the facade you give Alex but in reality you hurt a lot like a whole lot. No one man should punch that hard it didn't seem possible. Your hand also hurt like god himself had stomped on it, who the hell was that man? How did he seem to know all about the spies or even you for that matter. "Well even so be careful okay!" You try to wave her off with your previously crunched on hand.

WORST. IDEA. EVER

Turns out not only did he stomp on your hand but he managed to dislocate a bone in your palm (which you didn't know could even happen). You sit there crying in pain- Nope! I was taking it like a warrior!' Fine, as you were taking it like a warrior Alex noticed and laughed. "Come on don't make me laugh while you're hurt!"

"Heheh sorry not exactly trying, Just hurts a lot." She motions for you to give her your hand, you feel yourself blushing as she takes your hand. She looked so cute holding your hand 'Getting all hot and whatnot cuz she held your hand? What're you like five?' Your brain jest's but you refuse to let it get to you 'But it's like her hand belongs in mine, look it at it she looks so cu- GAAAAHHH!'

"GAAAAHHH!" You yelled as you held your hand, "What'd ya do!" You cry. Alex finds herself laughing at you again "Sorry but i play a lot of sports so i know what to do with dislocations!" She went right back to laughing at your face, this normally would have hurt or felt offensive from someone else but with Alex you felt like she was laughing with you. You find yourself laughing with her even though laughing was destroying your ribs. Sam and Clover walked over to you two and let you guys know it was time to leave.

BACK AT THE CAMPUS!

You lied down on your bed, the mission was somewhat of a success and Jerry did seem satisfied with your results and Alex seemed like she was okay with you. Now the only thing you had to do was stop your body from hurting. While lying there you had time to think, that man had spoken to you like he expected you to be there and that message"Ready or not? Here i come?" What did that mean exactly and why to you? You thought about this for about a good five minutes until you drifted into a deep slumber.

A point of view that isn't yours! (Just like the first chapter! Remember? No? Well...whatever just read.)

"Ugh! Why is this mission so annoying!" Clover exclaimed laying down on the couch stomach first her face into the sofa pillows. "Yeah it seems like who ever this guy is he's a huge threat," Alex sits next to Clover while Sam sits in the bean-bag like chair. "That man, who the heck was he? He knew about us and our moves!" She said aloud to no one in particular, the other two fell quiet they know not to bother Sam while she was thinking.

'That stuff too. What is it? How could it completely go away without a trace. Then why would they know about the new guy? He's not an enemy is he? Wouldn't surprise me one bit. All i know is i better keep an eye on him!'

ANNND BACK TO YOU READER! (Get it? Like the news. Listen..i don't have to impress you)

You weren't asleep for too long (or at least it didn't feel like it but in reality you sleep for like two hours) when you heard your wallet compowder go off. You looked at it expecting to see and hear Jerry but instead only heard Alex "Hey you okay?"

"Heh yeah, a bit of rest oughta help me out. Unless you wanna pop some more of my bones?" You say earning a giggle from Alex (sweet!), "I'm sorry for worrying it's just, the last friend i had got into some trouble like this so i get really worried," Her voice getting slightly down. You could have used this opportunity to ask about Virgil but you didn't want to ruin this great moment, so trying to guide the conversation into another direction you say "Well i'm durable so need to worry about me, but is that all ya called me for?"

Alex get's quiet for a while. It was actually a long silence as if she couldn't find the words to say. It was weighing heavy on you but you couldn't pressure her to say anything. You were hoping she was going to say sorry about last night and then confess her love to you but there was no way that was going to happen. "I just wanted you to know i'm sorry about leaving you last night,"

'Sweet! That's one half! Now if only-'

"But i meant what i said about is staying friends."

'Of course.'

"But believe me, it's not your fault. You're a great guy and cute and you seem like my type but i'm not ready! And i don't want you to be waiting on me until i get ready if i ever do, you could be happy with someone else. So plea-"

"I understand Alex, listen just know i'll always be your friend" You cut her off 'WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SAYING!' Your brain roars in every corner of your mind. You ignore it as your mouth continues on autopilot "So you know if ever wanna talk or wanna play some games just let me know ok?" You make sure she can hear the smile in your voice even if it was forced. This sucked for you and you knew it, you knew after what happened the last date it would be tough but you didn't even have a chance from the beginning it seemed. Your heart hurt more than your ribs and palm, you really wanted this night to end.

"I knew you'd understand!" Even from your end you could tell she didn't believe you "And i'll be there for you too, hopefully we can also become BFF's" And there she went forcing herself to smile. She begins to say something more, much like someone does when they reject someone but you cut her off "Well i gotta go see ya Alex,"

"Bye!"

You hang up and and instantly throw the wallet down. In your anger/hurt you roll over to your bead and clothes you eyes. You figured you could make yourself go into an anger induced coma if you tried hard enough. But you were broken off by the wallet going off again. You picked it up, thinking or maybe even hoping it was Alex again possibly reverting her early statement. "Hello?" You answer.

"I'm coming for you…," The voice sounded so menacing and gruff that you thought he was a video game boss "You better be a good hider, ready or not here i come!" It whispers into your voice then hangs up.

You look at the wallet and throw it across your room away from you,looking back at it your breathing had increased from the fear.

Now you were Totally sad, Totally confused and Totally afraid.

So that went pretty well. But i'm sorry it took so long, like i said in the intro i was very busy so i never got around to typing as much as i wanted. But i hope you enjoyed it. Like i said i'm always taking suggestions so please pm if you have an idea also make sure to leave a review to.
