Chapter 3: A Few Months Later
…
I now pronounce you husband and wife." The priest told the couple before him.
Peter and Mary Jane looked at each other and kissed. In the church pews, others watched the whole affair.
When they withdrew, Mary Jane smiled at her husband. "You really hit the jackpot, Tiger."
"Yes I have." Peter told his wife and turned to face their friends and coworkers wo have arrived.
…
It was late. A car drove into a driveway. Peter came out, followed by his wife.
"You alright, Peter?" MJ asked.
Peter looked grimly at his wife. "I was just thinking about Aunt May."
"You miss her, don't you." MJ concluded.
Peter smiled sadly. "Yes,"
MJ hugged her husband kindly while Peter returned the embrace, running his fingers through her long red hair. After a few moments, they withdrew.
"Oh I could really use a shower." Mary Jane said wearily.
"You go ahead," Peter assured her. "I'll be out a bit."
"Doing patrol?" MJ guessed.
"Yeah."
"Well good luck, Tiger." MJ told her husband.
"Thanks." Peter said before turning to the front door, going inside and running up the stairs very quickly.
MJ sighed. Today was a great day. After so many hardships and worries and near death experiences, she and Peter were married. She headed to their bedroom. Peter was already wearing his costume, his wedding clothes were laying on the floor. Her eyes widened.
"You wore that under your tux?" She asked.
"Just in case some super powered lunatic decided to crash our wedding."
MJ grimaced. "Well good thing that didn't happen."
"Agreed." Peter said, pulling the mask over his head. "Bye sweetheart."
"Bye." She said.
Peter went to the window and jumped out. MJ sighed. She then headed to her closet and took out a bathrobe.
…..
MJ exited the bathroom, clad in a bathrobe, her wet hair wrapped in a towel. She glanced at her wedding dress on the floor and flopped on the bed. Her mind recalled recently events.
Ever since Peter had rescued her from another dimension, her life had been full of ups and down. Peter tended to be absent in her life, but she understood his responsibilities and would covered for him when she could.
Various adversaries had come in their lives. The most recent was a clone of Peter made by Miles Warren. It had been a confusing and very tragic affair. Miles was a terrible man and the clone was as much a victim as a monster.
She and Peter had plan to get married a few weeks earlier but then Peter's Aunt May had become ill and died. Peter had been in a dark place, so they postponed their wedding. She recalled how depressed Peter been and his responsibilities as Spiderman were taking an emotional toll. She had tried to support him during that dark time, amazed how he didn't go insane with all the pressures of his two identities. He had eventually come to terms with his Aunt's death and they could focus on each other.
Now they had been married and nothing had gone wrong. She looked forward to the future, convinced that everything would turn out alright.

Author note by Data Seeker: so Mary Jane and Peter are finally married and are happy. The point of this chapter is just to address a few key points like Dr. Warren and the Spider clone that likely would have appeared if the series wasn't canceled. It wouldn't make sense for them to just be dropped altogether and this fic isn't about them.
Aunt May's death is to make the prime plot easier to focus on.
