What's up everyone, Tati here. And welcome back to the next chapter of The Clingy Mermaid! FINALLY! I got around to it. I've been putting it off for Finding Their Lost Light and other non-Fairy Tail stories. I'm sooooo freaking sorry for the wait and well, here you go.
The Clingy Mermaid
Chapter Three: Enter The All-Knowing Plue
Some distance away from the main part of Atlantis was a shipwreck hanging off a ledge. The scene was peaceful. Some glittering fish were swimming around the ship's mast where a torn flag was flowing along the current. It was silent, minus the soft rush o water travelling through the cur-
"Juvia! Ju-vi-AA! This way!"
…Never mind. Swimming towards the shipwreck were two finned figures. One was significantly smaller than the other. Its fish body was blue with a shiny gleam to its scales. Its blue cat head had an innocent look about it. A little bit behind the fish was a beautiful blue-haired mermaid. Her hair was flowing around her in gentle waves. Her ocean blue eyes were wide with wonder. Thee blue scales on her tail shimmer brilliantly in the sun's ray beaming through the water. Dark blue shells covered her well developed chest.
"Happy, when did you find this? Juvia thinks it's wonderful.
"Remember when Lushie was chasing me all around the kingdom for dumping fish guts on her?" Juvia nodded. "Well, I stumbled here when I got away from her. Neat huh?"
"Yes!" Picking up her pace, she swam past Happy. "Let's go exploring!"
"Aye!"
Swimming up the side of the ship, the two sea creatures reached the worn down deck. The salt water had weathered the wood, leaving it to break apart on its own. Scattered on deck were crates and barrels that were breaking also. Happy began searching through some of the crates as Juvia looked around at the ship, completely amazing by it.
She saw some things of interest, a buckle, flute, and a fancy bottle still filled with some sort of liquid. Smiling, Juvia stuffed the items into the brown satchel that she had hanging on her shoulder.
"Eek! Everything's so torn or broken," Happy said, dropping a torn blanket from his fins which floated away.
Juvia saw a worn door and placed her hand on the rusted knob. "This way Happy, let's go."
"Are you sure about this? It looks questionable to me-e!"
"Don't worry, Juvia knows it's safe," the mermaid said, grabbing the fish's body and pulled him closer to her. "Happy and Juvia will be fine."
Happy pouted. "If you say so."
Together, they went through the door, entering a hallway that had walls full of paintings and ornaments that were in fairly good condition, despite being under seawater for who know how long.
Juvia looked at each painting, taking in each one's beauty and style. Happy slowly swam through the creaking structure, quickly turned his head around at the sound of a possible growl from a predator or something. Juvia, after seeing every picture in that hallway, went further into the ship, reaching a single room. It was large and luxurious, velvety seats and clothes were spread out on the floor and a large desk stood in the middle of it in front of the cracked windows. On the desktop were shiny objects ranging from writing utensils to mapping tools.
Something that had sunlight beaming down on it caught Juvia's eye. A golden butterfly sat unmoving in the centre of the desk. Picking it up, Juvia lifted it above her, letting the sun cast its light around it.
"It's beautiful Happy."
"Y-Yeah…" Happy stuttered. The ship creaked under the water and because of the water, the sound echoed in the room and never seemed to end. "Let's get out of here Juvia! It's getting-"
Happy cut himself off and his face blanched as his blank eyes stares to the wall behind Juvia. It was falling apart behind her, far enough that she wouldn't be physically hurt by the debris falling through the water. The cat-fish was freaking over the size of the wall breaking away from the boat and the sounds that it produced wasn't fazing the blue-haired mermaid in front of him. Juvia's eyes were closed as she carefully positioned the clip into her wavy locks.
By the time she was finished placing the clip, the wall had completely fell apart and into the depths of the ocean floor. She turned to Happy, still mesmerized at how she completely ignored the wall.
"How does it look on Juvia?" Juvia smiled before noticing that Happy's face was pale. "Are you alright Happy?"
"Y-Yeah Juvia." Happy turned around, quickly swimming out of the room. "Let's get out of here before the rest of the ship crashes down on us!"
"Eh? What are you talking about Happy? And wait up!" Juvia yelled, trying to catch up with Happy.
"Let's go! I think someone can help us with the stuff we found here."

In the middle of the ocean was a rock poking out of the water. The rock had moss growing on it as well as some shells here and there. In a lobster trap near the edge of the rock were small trinkets and simple day-to-day items filling it. The items varied from silverware to ripped pages from books to an array of sweets.
Laying on the rock and bathing in the sun's light was a white snowman figurine with a yellow cone poking out of its head. The creature might've been perceived dead by birds of prey flying over the ocean, if not for its constant shivering.
"Pun puu~n!" the creature let out.
"Plue!"
The creature, named Plue, sat up and went to his feet. With a hand above his beady black eyes to block out the sun, Plue looked around the glittering water until he spotted a mermaid and cat-fish swimming towards him.
"Pun puun! Pu~n!" He waved his little arms to the two.
"Hello Plue-san," Juvia said, placing her satchel onto the rock. She began taking out the buckle, flute, and bottle with liquid she found on the ship in front of Plue. "Happy found a shipwreck under the surface and Juvia found these there. Do you know what they are and what they do?"
Plue looked at the things in front of him. He raised his head and smiled to the blue-haired mermaid before picking up the buckle and placing his yellow cone-like nose through the opening. He started spinning his head around, making the brass buckle circle his nose.
"Pun Pu~un!"
Juvia laughed while Happy narrowed his eyes and tilted his sideways. "I don't think it's used for that Plue."
"Puun!" The little shaking creature slid the buckle of its nose before picking up the bottle of liquid and holding it up in the air towards the sun. Plue noticed that there was a spray nozzle on the lid and pointed it out to the fish.
"What is it Plue-san?" Juvia asked, taking the bottle from the white creature and looking at what Plue pointed out. "Oh, there's a little hole on the lid Happy."
"Pun puu~n!"
"It must be something to put in your hair or something," Happy said.
"Why would Juvia need to apply something into her hair?"
Happy shrugged his fins, "I dunno. Humans are weird."
"Juvia…supposes." The mermaid placed the bottle back down before handing the flute to Plue. "And this? What does this do Plue-san?"
Plue took the flute from Juvia and twirled it in his paws before giving it back to Juvia. He placed one hand above the other while positioning her fingers over the small holes and putting it closer to her mouth. He stood back with his hands in the air.
"Puun!" Plue began shaking more than he did before, his arms wiggling in the same motion of his body. "Pun pu~un!"
"What do you think he's doing?" Juvia asked.
"I don't know, but I think that thingy is used to make bubbles in the water," Happy said, wiggling his fins the same way Plue was.
"Hm." Juvia looked up, seeing the sun nearing noon. "Oh no! We missed the walk Happy!" Juvia began frantically picking up her items and stashing them away in her satchel. "The others are going to kill us."
"Nah, your sisters love me too much and Laxus is too cold to care."
"What about Lucy-san Happy?"
"Lushie's too stupid to notice. She'll be lucky to-"
Happy was cut off by a pair of fists twisting into his head. "What were you saying Happy?" a cold voice hissed.
Juvia froze as she turned to see a blonde haired mermaid beside her, churning Happy's head to butter.
"L…Lucy…san."
Once again, I'm sorry about keeping you all waiting. But now, I'll be completely dedicated to this while working on a couple one-shots here and there! If anyone can help me with nailing Juvia's characteristics down, can you leave a review? I don't have a lot of Juvia-ness in my other stories so I don't really now how I should put her in the story (and this being a GruVia fic, I figured I should know how to write Juvia properly.) Much thanks.
Anyways, thanks again for reading. As always, let me know what ya guys think by leaving a review or sending me a PM. And I'll see you in the next chapter, Tati
