I don't even know what I'm doing anymore... Have you noticed?

Chapter 3

Cross whined lightly. He hated to stay in bed day in and day out. The least Allen could do was to let him take a walk, but no. The stupid apprentice would activate his innocence just to hold him down if he tried to leave the bed. Cross could truthfully say that he hated his life at the moment. He wasn't really that sick anymore. He was completely cured if you ignored the coughing. Allen wasn't satisfied though so therefore Cross had to stay in bed. He glared at the idiot who were smiling at him from where he was sitting.
"I will torture you." He said and pulled the blanket angrily over his head. Allen sighed lightly.
"What are you going to do? Kick on my knee? You're behaving like an eight year old. You have the body of a teenager, not a kid. Don't tell me your mind changed as well?" He said. Cross sat up, making the blanket fall off of him.
"It did not. If it had you wouldn't see me act like this you stupid idiot apprentice." He said with an even icier glare than before. Allen just gave him a curious look.
"Oh? What were you like?" He asked instead, catching the redhead off guard.
"What?" He asked in surprise.
"What were you like as a teenager?" Allen asked. Cross paused for a moment before he glared at Allen again.
"It's none of your business!" He exclaimed, laid down and pulled the blanket over his head.

"I made you something to eat." Allen said proudly and gave his master a bowl. Cross looked down on what appeared to be stew with a suspicious look.
"I don't want it." He said after a while.
"Eh? But I made it just for you." Allen said with a pout. The redhead wasn't sure it was a good idea to eat it since it had a weird smell.
"You eat it first." He said and pushed the bowl towards Allen. His apprentice looked hurt.
"Do you think I poisoned it?" he asked with a pout.
"No, but that doesn't change the fact that it could taste horrible." Cross said. Allen sighed.

"And here I was trying to be nice. You're such a meanie." He said and picked up the spoon. The redhead watched as his apprentice tasted the stew. The following three seconds were very interesting to watch. Allen's face changed color at least five times. White, green, blue and so on, but he kept the same expression.
"Well?" Cross asked and raised an eyebrow. Allen slowly put down the spoon.
"It's…. great…" He said and failed to give him a smile.
"I refuse to eat that." The redhead said and turned his back towards him. Allen grabbed the bowl and left the room to throw the stew of doom away.

Cross stared at the ceiling. Tic toc. Tic toc. He could hear a clock ticking somewhere, telling him exactly how much time he had to spend in bed. He wished the damned clock would shut the hell up. The redhead let out a frustrated sigh and rolled over. He blinked when he found Allen staring at him. He frowned lightly and sat up. What did the idiot want? Was there something on his face? It was starting to get a bit uncomfortable being stared at.

"What do you want? If you have something to say, then say it." He said, glaring lightly at his apprentice. The other moved closer and for some reason Cross felt he had to move back. He didn't get very far until his back hit the wall though. Allen moved closer until he was sitting on the bed, right in front of the redhead. Cross felt a bit awkward. Why wasn't the other saying anything? Why was he just staring?
"U-uhm... You're... acting strange..." He said, a bit uncertain of what to do. Allen reached out and gently brushed some hair out of his face. Okay... This was getting odd. Very odd. Allen moved closer and Cross stared, unable to do much about it.

"Master... No, Marian..." Allen said softly, hand now permanently resting on the redhead's cheek. Cross' eyes widened as the other used his first name. Okay. Now it was getting way too weird for his liking. Allen's free hand traveled down his side and of course his teenage body reacted a bit to the touch. Oh no. What did the idiot think he was doing? His heartbeat was picking up the pace. Allen smiled.

"You're beautiful, Marian." He whispered and Cross could practically feel his face going red. Wait what? Was Allen drunk or something? Or high? Maybe a mix of both? Allen leaned closer and closer. Cross screwed his eyes shut, but just before their lips met, Allen stopped. Not feeling anything, Cross carefully opened his eyes. His apprentice grinned towards him and moved back.

"You thought I'd kiss you?" He teased. Cross blinked, slowly realizing that Allen had been messing with him.

"Y-You!" He exclaimed, grabbed the pillow and hit Allen with it as hard as he could several times in a row.

Allen laughed quietly. He couldn't help it. Teasing Cross when he was like this was more fun than he had thought and seeing him so flustered was kind of cute.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." He chuckled. It was the sixth time he apologized. Cross was still mad at him, even though it had been hours since it had actually happened. He still felt the need to tease him though. Why not do it while he still had the chance?
"Are you angry because you wanted a real kiss?" He asked. Cross immediately fell silent, staring at him again. Allen couldn't tell if he was shocked by the question or actually considering it. He moved closer again.

"I can give you one if you ask nicely." He said, smiling. Cross frowned.

"Do you expect me to get all happy and say something like 'oh, please Allen. Kiss me.' Forget it." The redhead said and folded his arms. Allen grinned lightly and leaned forward, pressing his lips against the other's. At first nothing happened. Cross just sat there for a couple of seconds and then he flew back.

"What the hell!?" He exclaimed, face going red again.

"I think I heard a please kiss me somewhere there and since you asked so nicely..." Allen said. Cross waved his arm accusingly.

"It was an example. An example!" Allen gently grabbed his arm to make him stop waving it around.

"I don't get why you're making such a big deal out of this. I thought you were used to this sort of thing. I mean... How many men and women haven't you slept with?"
"SHUT UP!" Cross yelled. Allen leaned his forehead against Cross'. He enjoyed this way more than he should have.

"Marian... If you want me to shut up you'll have to kiss me." He said jokingly. He didn't actually think Cross would do it, so he was surprised when he suddenly were pulled down and kissed.

"N-now shut up." Cross mumbled when the kiss was broken. It hadn't lasted for very long and for some reason it left Allen unsatisfied. He wanted more than just that. It surprised him. He usually had no such desires and definitely not when it came to Cross, so... why now?

Allen bit his lower lip and gently pushed Cross down against the pillows. No. He wasn't going to do anything stupid. Or maybe he was... He wasn't even sure what he was doing anymore. Cross looked up on him, confusion written all over his face. Allen swallowed.

"May I... try something?" He asked carefully. Cross frowned again.

"Try what?" He asked, suspicion clear in his voice. Allen leaned closer.

"I... want to see something. It's important to me... I think. So may I...?" Allen watched as Cross thought about his request. Several minutes passed and the redhead said nothing. Allen was starting to get worried.

"Is it really that important to you...?" An unexpected question from Cross. What was he thinking? How was he reasoning?
"I think so." Allen answered. Cross sighed.

"Fine. You may try whatever it was you wanted to try, but if I tell you to get away from me you are to obey, got it?" Allen smiled, nodding. He could definitely agree to those conditions. He quickly closed the space between them, pressing his lips against Cross' in a curious kiss. The redhead let out a surprised sound, but didn't pull away. Allen wondered slightly why Cross let him do this. Normally neither of them would even think about doing this sort of thing with each other. Slowly he felt Cross starting to respond and his heart practically skipped a beat. Okay. Okay. What more did you usually do when kissing? Tongue! Of course. He forced the redhead's lips apart with his own tongue and quickly slipped it into the other's mouth. He earned another noise from Cross and he could feel the redhead grab his sleeve. He noticed that he was keeping his eyes closed, while he himself had his eyes opened. Before he knew what he was doing, Allen's hands traveled down Cross' body and pulled up his shirt, gently touching the exposed skin. Cross hit him and that broke the magic. Allen pulled back and Cross sat up. Both were panting lightly.

"What... the heck... do you think... you're doing?" Cross said, glaring at him. Allen blinked.

"I... uhm... I'm sorry... I don't know why I... Ma-... uhm... Cross... Why did you let me kiss you?" The room fell silent. Cross laid down and turned his back towards Allen.

"It doesn't matter. Now go away. I want to be alone for a bit."
