hey guys, moonfly7 back with another chapter, sorry for taking awhile on it, i had stuff going on. so i know i promised a longer chapter, but then i found the perfect place to end it, so it didn't end up happening. anyways i hope you guys like this chapter i know i did, moonfly7, signing off.

Several hours later, me and Giovanni were supervising clean up on mirage island, arresting the captured Lightning semantics members, helping the now free pokemon to find their trainers (Maya, was nowhere to be found) and bringing the fainted voltorbs in for healing. After the last helicopter wheeled into the now night air, giovanni turned to me and said "Red, we need to get going, i have a rendezvous i need to keep, would you mind coming with me?" i nodded, my look telling him that he needed to make it quick, since i had ruins i needed to explore. He climbed onto his honchkrow, while i released Aero and jumped onto his back. We quickly soared into the skies, i, following Giovanni's lead, seeing as he new where we were headed.
The flight path took us to a place i knew well, though i had only visited it once, sky pillar. We landed at the base of the pillar and leapt off our pokemon, returning them as we landed. "What...are we...doing here...Giovanni." i said. "My associate's said to meet them here, nothing other than that Red. I got out of the legendary hunting business a long time ago, as you well know." then, as i was nodding to what Giovanni said, i heard a cry "Red". Yelled the slightly gruff tones of a voice i knew so well, seeing as how it belonged to my best friend, Blue. "it's so good to see you, man. It's been seven years." This was uttered in normal Blue fashion, his voice sounding uncaring, while his words belied his tone. "Blue...good...to...see...you...what...are you...doing here?" i bubbled happily. "I found another link in the puzzle i left you, a link that requires a guide. So i thought i might offer my services." he said, amusement evident in his eyes.
"That..would...be...great...you...go on ahead...to the...site...i'll...meet...you there." blue smiled muttered something about not changing, tossed me the coordinates of the destination, and flew away with Giovanni. After they took off, i began the climb up the steps of sky pillar. seven years ago i needed a mach bike to avoid the breaking floor and make it to the top, now my speed had increased to the point that i no longer required one. The climb took me about two minutes, my fastest time of this tower, and i soon found myself at the top, yelling words i had not planned to say for about three more years "Ray...quaza" Immediately the sky grew dark, and lightning thundered and crashed, while a deafening voice boomed " who dares disturb the lord of the skies!" At these words a massive green draconid began to wind its way around the pillar, breathing a bright green flame at its words.
"Rayquaza...its...me...Red" at this the storm instantly ceased, and now a much kinder voice came from the almost beaming pokemon "Red, dear trainer, you are three years early, you promised to visit me every ten years after my release." the pokemon boomed gleefully. "I...had to meet...someone here...thought i'd stop by...say...hi" at this the great legendary tmade a happy purring noise, demanding a pet from me after seven long years. After about twenty minutes of scratching the massive dragons head, i began to leave, but i was stopped by Rayquaza, who insisted that he carry me to my destination. When i arrived blue was laughing and shaking his head,while Giovanni stared, utterly gobsmacked.
"Bye…Rayquaza!" i called after the retreating form of the massive dragon. "Shows over vanni, let's get going." said Blue, now all business. We followed him into the ruins making our way carefully down the steep, sloping shaft. "Be careful this ruin has never been explored, but i deep scanned it with my pokedex and it picked up unknown life signatures, so tread lightly." blue called back to us. As we began to go deeper down the tunnel, we had to pop our ears repeatedly, since we were at a massive depth.
"Blue" Giovanni called "what's down here, exactly." "a piece to the puzzle of the songs of elements, Red and i have been studying them, and i think i found some lines of the missing song." Blue replied " i've been waiting till Red was down here to decipher the hieroglyphs." As he said this, he stopped and pointed at the end of the tunnel, where there was a dead end, covered in lines of an ancient text. "Unknowns" i said, just a hint of annoyance in my voice "correct" Blue answered "so keep your voices down, we do not, want to wake them." "can you read them, Blue" Giovanni whispered "of course" responded Blue, sounding slightly offended " this is what they say. And i quote, 'he who reads these words, has found the first piece of the power locked away, and is one step closer to the ultimate goal, behold! The beginning of the hymn, "the lord of Surge". 'Power lies in the ruin's, trapped there by human hands. The power they hold, cannot be controlled, except by one whose fire, is brighter than theirs. Find them, walk down their stairs, look into their eyes, all seven, and see the fire their. And if your eyes burn brighter, if you have an inner fire, they will show you the path, to the next clue, of the lord of surge!'" Blue paused and then whispered, "yep, thats what it says"
"caterpie" said the little pokemon on my shoulder, instantly Blue turned, agrin forming on his face."who's this little guy" he said "girl...her name...is...catherine...cathy for short…" i said, naming my caterpie on the spot. Blue patted the newly christened pokemon and then went back to looking serious. "But what does it mean" Blue said, looking frustrated. After a few minutes of debate and theories, Giovanni lost his cool and screamed pretty loud. "Giovanny, the unknowns, we have to leave, now!" With that, giovanni ran, and since he was at the back, he made it out of explosion range, not so me and Blue.
I awoke a few minutes later, in the same place we started, with the unknown's on the walls. Except now, there was one difference, the tunnel we came through was blocked by rubble. Blue looked at me and nodded as i awoke, "you woke up, good, giovanni went for help, so we might be down here awhile." he said, by way of explanation. Immediately i pulled a pokeball and released snorlax. I whistled and he slammed into the rocks, doing nothing. "I already tried that man, chill out,lets talk, just like old times."
With that we launched into a discussion, to pass the time,it was mostly what had changed since i had left. "And Green almost destroyed half the continent trying to find you!" he concluded. "I'm...glad...she learned to deal...with it...she should have...sooner..." i said, a tad frustrated. Suddenly Blues eyes flared in anger but his voice was icy cold when he spoke "yeah, i guess everyone you cared about should have just left you to red special pout time where he can pretend that no one matters but him." at the last part his words became as powerful as his eyes, so that he was practically yelling. "Blue...it" i started to say, but he cut me off obviously not done "Red stop, i know you went on that mountain because you were confused and scared, but you leaving made a lot of people feel the same way." he said, his voice much calmer now. Then, almost whispering he said "do you remember when your mom died?" i nodded, tears already forming in both our eyes.
"After the funeral you came to school everyday, but you weren't at your house and no one new where you were staying. Until gramps found you, living in a small cave near a pond, training with your poliwag. He convinced you to come live with him, me, and daisy." he said, smiling slightly at the memory "and at first i hated it, but then back then i hated everything that wasn't me. But as you lived with us, you became more than just a lodger, you became my brother Red, and because of you my life got better. Whenever kids tried to hurt me because i was annoying, you challenged them to pokemon battles and drove them off. And eventually, you showed me how to be with people without bothering them, and you helped me make friends." Blue paused tears streaming down his face. "And then you left, and all i got was a note. Look Red, i'm sorry for yelling at you, but when you left i didn't just lose my best friend and rival i lost my brother."
He didn't get any farther, as i grabbed him in a massive hug, and held him for about five minutes. "I'm...so...sorry...brother" i whispered "and all Blue would say is "all is forgiven, but i'm not leaving your side ever again". I just nodded, happy to have finally bridged the gap between me and my best friend. We were still hugging and crying when the boulders shook, and they fell away. Showing a smiling Giovanni, who had born silent witness to it all.
so, that was a real tear jerker, i hope you guys liked it, i also hope that it shed a little light on Reds background. also, before anyone asks i am NOT red/blue shipping, sorry. anyways i hope to post the next chapter soon, i hope you guys will review this and tell me what you think so i can make the story better. moonfly7 signing off
