I knelt before my little girl all dressed up in her school uniform. I blinked to keep the tears at bay.
Behind me, her father rested his hand on my shoulder, signalling that it was time to go.
"Have fun, sweetheart. We'll meet you right here when it's time to pick you up, alright," Edward said.
"Yes, daddy. Love you," she replied. She gave us both a kiss and hug before running inside the classroom for her first day of school.
If we could only go back to this morning when everything was perfect, when our little family was whole.
