Summary: A What if Story: Feral Naruto has brutally killed Pain and kidnapped the heiress, Hinata. The Leaf is after him but can they really stand a chance against the crazed Blond?
Obsessed Fox
Naruto looked down at her slowly drooping lavender eyes. Her brows furrowed as she tried to fight it. He increased his chakra, intentionally making her get more fatigued. Closing her eyes in defeat, her head finally fell limply onto his chest and her body relaxed into his arms. The red cloak surrounding them disappeared and gave her forehead a kiss.
"I'll always protect you," he murmured. Even from himself… he hoped.
Pleased by her unconscious state, he furthered his senses making sure they didn't run into any more Leaf ninja. If they did, he didn't want her to see him attack them. Something inside told him he wouldn't be able to hold back his fury and he'd probably kill them on sight. She didn't need to see that side of him yet. He vowed she'll never have to see it.
Naruto scanned the woods through narrow slits. Not a trace of chakara could be seen, his flickering ears only picked up on animal noises, and his nose showed no human had recently passed through the area.
Hesitantly returning his gaze to the gorgeous girl in his arms, he couldn't help to drink her in. She was beautiful. Her long dark lashes carcass her white milky skin, providing such pleasant contrast. Her black brows furrowed as her tiny pink lips glistened against the moonlight. Each jump he took made her silk like hair sway against him. She was breath taking. To top it off, she smelled amazing.
He unconsciously tightened his hold onto her, bringing her closer to his chest, and buried his nose deep into the crook of her neck. Naruto took a deep whiff of lavender. He purred in pure delight before freezing still from his run.
What the fuck was he doing?
His eyes snapped open as he pulled his face away in disgust. Heat touched his ears as his heart pounded in his chest.
What the fuck was wrong with him? Who sniffs a person like that? Like some kind of demon horn dog.
He shook his head side to side and tightly closed his eyes in frustrated defeat. He failed himself. He failed her. If he had been stronger, she would still be in the hospital, healing, and surrounded by their loving friends. Instead, he brought her along and sealed her faith with him… and the worst part, knowing he can't let her go.
"I'm sorry Hinata," he guiltily whispered to the sleeping Hyuuga. "I'll try my best to keep you safe from me."
Hinata, unaware of his words, smiled and dug her face deeper into warm hard chest.
Naruto tore his gaze away from her and noticed something off with one of the trees. Tilting his head to the side and jumping in a branch for better inspection. It was a tiny abandoned tree house. The walls were pretty much disguised and covered with green and brown moth and leaves. It's neglecting over the years made it the perfect hideout. He almost missed it himself.
Casually entering the creaky place through a window, he warily glanced around before placing the sleeping woman on the floor. He sniffed around and examined everything and anything, making sure this place was reliable and secure.
"Mm," a tiny whine left the Hyuuga's lips. Naruto brown fox he flickered as he faced the still sleeping maiden. Her lips were downturned in pain and her black brow furrowed. She let out another pained moan. Quickly made his way to her side, his eyes searched for the cause of distress.
She moved to lay on her side, more specifically the side which was injured from the Pain attack. Naruto silently growled as he saw the red stain on her chest was larger than it was before. Pushing her onto her back, he sat lightly over her hips.
It seemed that there was another growing stain at the side of her bandages forehead.
He felt his insides churn in anger before letting out a huff. He needed to clean those wounds. With a stubborn blush, he tried to keep it as professional as possible. He vowed to always protect her and that, whether she approved or not, included cleaning wounds.
He made sure not to cut her with his sharp like hands, being as gentle as possible.

Hinata woke up feeling a tingle of pain and discomfort. Her being uncomfortable made her try to move to better her position.
"Stop moving, Hinata," said a stern voice.
Hinata froze and flashed her eyes wide open, locking lavender orbs with dark hungry red. His face was centimeters away from hers. Their breaths inter-tingled and his teeth ripping a piece of bandage.
"An-Naruto?" She squeaked with a growing red face. He responded with a low, "Hm?"
What was he doing leaning over her like this? She was laying down as his legs were draped on either side of her hips. He was sitting on her lap as his tail restrained her legs! She was panicking. She closed her eyes in an attempt to not see his lust filled face and counted her breathing.
1-2-3 Breath in.
4-5-6 Breath out.
She tried her best to ignore his breath caressing her cheeks. Through her breathing exercises, her control regained. She gave him a scandalized look, trying to understand his actions.
"What are you doing?" She tried to ask as calmly as she could. Her heart drumming as fast as a humming bird's wings.
"I cleaned you wounds."
She blinked for a couple of moments taking in what he said. He cleaned her wounds? Looking down, she saw she indeed wore a new fresh batch of bandages and felt her stomach lurch in horror.
"Eh?!" She squeaked, her hands covering her bandaged form.
"Promise I didn't do anything perverted," he defended himself in daze-like way. She noticed how his dark eyes would glance at her chest ever so often. "I had to do it or you'd get an infection or something."
"Please, tell me I'm dreaming," She hoped. Yes, that had to be it. These past memories just didn't make any sense. Naruto wouldn't attack ninja from the Leaf, he wouldn't look like a half fox, and he wouldn't have seen her… bare. She tightened her arms around herself as she flinched in pain.
Naruto put his hands on her arms, easing them away. Looking up at him, she saw his concerned face, all trace of hunger gone. "Don't hurt yourself. We're ninja, okay? It was my duty to heal you. Nothing else."
"I-I know," she whispered in defeat. "It's just I get embarrassed easily."
"You have nothing to be embarrassed about. You look beautiful."
Her wide eyes lock onto his red ones.

Tsunade forced herself to stand firmly in front of the meeting. Her legs shake from her weakened form but she forced herself to look strong. Looking frail in front of these men was out of the question.
"I demand this man hunt against Naruto called off," she stated firmly.
Hiashi narrowed his silver eyes. He clasped his hands together as he glared her down. "Lady Hokage, with all due respect I beg to differ. You are still very much fragile from the attack and should be resting. Danzo is taking care of things just fine. We had already voted for the approval when you were unconscious."
Lady Hokage slammed her hand onto the table, breaking it in two. Her brown eyes held fire as she trembled in anger. "I am the elected Hokage. I am well and conscious now and I demand a revote, which is within my power to do so, to call this manhunt off."
"The boy stole the Hyuuga Heiress," snapped Hinata's father, his façade gradually breaking as he stood up from his chair. "This not only involves clan politics but breaches the Leaf's security!"
"Breaching security?" She screeched back. "I don't know if you haven't noticed Hyuuga but this entire damn village is in shambles! We have more dead than alive! We can't afford to send out men when we're vulnerable for another attack."
"Don't act like you're doing this village a favor! We all know your opinion is biased with the disgraced boy."
"Enough!" yelled out a Clan Member, Shikumaru's father. "We're not here to fight. Lady Hokage is right about one thing though. She can demand a revote."
Tsunade let out a huff while Hiashi stiffly sat down.
"Thank you," said the blonde Hokage, "We vote. But I want to add more to this than just ending this manhunt. If this thing continues, you guys can find yourselves a new Hokage."
The room let out gasps before a series of yells and shrieks erupted the room. Danzo simply rose a brow while Hiashi grimaced.
"Lady Hokage, you can't mean that?" Shizune whispered harshly to her.
"Yes, I meant every word," she answered loudly and clearly for everyone to hear. "I love this village with all my heart but I rather it rot in hell then let Naruto die under my command." She glared at each member in the room. "So, let's begin." The room quieted down. "Those in favor for continuing the stupid charade and having Danzo as your new Hokage, raise your hands."

"You know, it feels like a dream," confessed Hinata. They have been relaxing on top of the tree house, laying side by side gazing at the stars. The chill air giving a breeze every now and then.
"More like a real life nightmare, if you ask me," he told her with a sigh. He features became seldom. She gave him a confused look as he continued to star gaze.
She attempted to lean up but the Blond's hand on her stomach stopped her. He shook his head at her idea.
She leaned back down with a flinch. She knew he didn't want to talk about the current situation. Hinata waited and waited until he was ready to bring it up on his own but it's passed two hours and she needed answers. "Naruto, what's going on? Why were you fighting your Sensei? What's happened to the Leaf?"
His closed his eyelids. His blond hair ruffling slightly from another breeze.
"Naruto," she urged.
"You're going to hate me," he darkly warned.
"No, I would never," she fiercely countered him. He ran a hand through his blond messy hair and huffed out a sigh. Opening his eyes, he connected their stare. He looked hopelessly defeated. "I don't exactly know where to start."
"How about from the beginning?"
So he sat them up crossed legged and told her everything. From when the Kyuubi was inserted in him to how he defeated Pain with the use of the demon's power. She stayed silent, slightly frightened by his revelation.
"I thought you were dead," he murmured. His tone underlining with fear and pain. His hand moved to cover his eyes, as if to wipe off the memory. "When he pierced that pole into you, I just lost it. I completely and utterly lost it. I had no choice but to use the demon's power."
"Naru-"
He took away his hand to look at her. What she saw concerned her greatly. Those red orbs looked so angered, so possessive.
"Hinata, I honestly don't even feel regret on what I did."
This confession was so unlike him. Naruto didn't do revenge, he didn't enjoy killing. "Naruto, you can't mean that."
He vigorously shook his head side to side. "But I do! I don't even regret it one a bit. If I had to do it again, I would! I would do it a thousand times over if it were to save you. I thought you were dead, Hinata. I was so angry and my emotions were so..." He shook his head. "After he died, I managed to feel your presence. You were alive." He lightly smiled. "I thank the heavens you were alive. I ran as fast as I could to you. I-I wanted to see you, to talk to you. But," he trailed off as his face darkened. "No one would let me near you. You see, when I became human again, some fox features stayed."
Hinata stayed silent as sadness filled her heart. His appearance now made much more sense now. The fox had done something to him.
"Once everyone saw me, they started calling me a monster, a demon, a mini Kyuubi. They were afraid of me, Hinata. They began attacking me. So I ran away."
Hinata couldn't hold back a silent gasp. How could they attack him? He was Naruto, the one who saved the village! "Naruto," she murmured in horrified disbelief. "What about the Hokage? Sakura? Iruka? Your friends? Did they not stand up for you?"
His trembling shoulders froze a bit. "No, they did try to help me. But the council and the other villagers outnumbered them and the old hag was unconscious. They couldn't do anything," he confessed.
She looked at him, pained. She could hardly believe all of this. "I don't understand," she whimpered. He looked at her with fear as he saw her eyes water. "Why would they do this to you? You're our hero. You're a person."
"Hinata, don't cry," he pleaded as he wiped her tears away.
"You go through so much pain. You deserve better than this," she sniffled a bit, trying to calm down.
He grimaced before enveloping her in a light hug. "Thank you, Hinata."
"You have nothing to thank," she said with a shaken voice, her hands slowly encircling him.
"At the time, I didn't know what to do," he told her as he buried his head into the crook of her neck. His hand drew lazy circles on her back, soothing her. He continued with the tale. "After a week of running, I had to come back... For you."
"For me?" She repeated.
He nodded his head once and tightened his hug. "That confession you made... I had no choice. Something in me... I couldn't control it. I had to get you back."
Her heart quickened its pace. He mentioned her confession. What did he mean he couldn't control it? Control what? She was about to ask before he spoke again.
"Can you repeat it?" He asked, causing her limbs to tense up. He pulled away to better see her. "Please, can you repeat what you said that day?"
Hinata felt her heart clench. He wanted her to confess? Again?! She could hardly do it once! She was about to refuse but she stopped at his hopeful expression. She couldn't deny him.
"I-I," she took a deep breath to make her sound more certain. "I, Hinata Hyuuga, love you, Naruto Uzumaki."
He gave her a glazed look before closing his eyes and let a small smile play on his lips. There was a little flushed color of red on his cheeks. His fox ears drooped as his tail wagged. Hinata being flustered covered her face with her hands.
He smiled goofily at her timid reaction.
"Hey, don't be embarrassed," he said lightly, leaning his face near hers. "Never be embarrassed by your feelings for me. I feel... I think I feel the same."
Hinata froze. Her mind short circulated. She couldn't breathe and she felt her brain short circuit.
He thinks he loves me. Those words. She never thought she'd hear those words directed to her! She knew there was a large possibility he'd fall in love with someone else. She believed that's was what would happen. She learned to accept that. But now... He thinks he loves her. Warmth filled her stomach and she broke into a dazed smile.
She felt someone giving her a steady shake, not enough to hurt her injury but more than sufficient to snap out of her daze.
"Hey, Hinata? Are you okay?"
She nodded her head at him. "Yes, I'm sorry you just took me by surprise."
He smiled in relief. "Good."
He slowly moved away from her and began zipping off his jacket. Her eyes widen but before she can say more he draped it over her form like a blanket. "You look cold," was all he said. "And we left the blankets behind with Kakashi's surprise appearance."
She hugged the clothing and gave him a thankful glance before seeing him tense again.
He stood up and sniffed the air. Hinata couldn't help but finally take notice his lean torso that fit so well into that mesh shirt. His orange pants were torn and dirty while his fluffy tail stood still. But even with the dirt and grim, even with the fox features, Naruto always looked attractive to her. But what if… it's not him that like her? What if it's something to do with the fox changes? Hinata frowned.
Naruto growled. "These two won't let up," he whispered.
"Kakashi and Sai?"
He gave her a firm nod. "They're several kilometers away. They can't sense us but they're still too close for my liking."
He turned to her and abruptly picked her up again. "We're moving. I'm not letting them take you away from me."
He hugged her tightly as she squirmed out in slight pain. He murmured an apology as he kissed her forehead.
She shyly glanced at him, watching as his blond hair flickered as he ran. His ears twitch at every sound and his eyes scanning around every so often. He was on alert with a mouth set in a firm line.
These new features made him appear much older and dangerous. A dark feral aura surrounded him. His goofiness was still there but with an underlining of... powerful-like presence on everything he did. How much was the fox influencing? Emotionally and physically? Her heart pained at the dreaded thoughts.
He must've sensed her heavy gaze because he looked at her with a grin.
"You okay?" he asked.
She looked away and gave a quick nod.
