Four years later...

"Welcome back team 7 I hope the mission wasn't too hard on you." The elderly hokage said as he looked at the team with sorrow as he stared at the team that was run down to the ground physically and mentally.

"Not at all hokage-sama they just well . . . experienced their first death on the line of duty" Kakashi said solemnly as he stared at his team. "But the good thing is that Saskue has unlocked his sharigan ao it was all worth it!" He chirped while Saskue stood straighter with a smug smile as his sharigan eyes activated to show the proof.

Sarutobi then nodded his head and said "Team Seven you are dismissed for the month as it was a straining mission from what I can gather, but Naruto can you please stay here, and Kakashi please send your report to me by the next day."

Team Seven then saluted before Sakura sulked as she walked away from the door by herself since Kakashi shushin Saskue to a training ground. Once the door closed Naruto let his shoulders slump and his everlasting grin fell away as he stared at Hiruzen. Hiruzen merely got up and opened his arms as Hiruzen was tackled by a crying Naruto.

Hiruzen just frowned as he heard what caused this ball of sunshine to become so depressed. "So you lost a friend. . . Naruto I'm sorry but I hope you can see his reasoning behind this." Naruto then suddenly backed away as he started to yell at his grandfather with such fury it even made the hidden ANBU nervous. "his reasoning? HIS REASONING! He died because of a man who saw him as a tool, sure that man realized his mistakes but it's. . . just so stupid as to why he would sacrifice himself for a man who only saw him as a tool." Naruto managed to speak before he felt a hand on his shoulder.

Naruto then looked up to see his jiji stare at him with a serious face before he let out a sigh "Naruto-kun just for a moment think of this boy Haku as you and think of Zabuza as myself would you defend me from a person that was about to kill me?"

"Yes old man I would do that after all you are one of the few people who actually cared about me" Naruto said while realizing that what he may not believe worthy to die for some may. He then smiled to his grandfather and said "Thanks ojji-chan for that talk, well I think I'm going to get some rammen now so see ya!" before he left the room.

Sarutobi then sighed as he knew what it felt like to lose people close to him. He then turned around to see Kakashi at the corner of his room while reading his book. "I assume Naruto told you about how Haku died to protect Zabuza right?"

Hiruzen mearly just raised an eyebrow and said "Didn't you shushin Saskue away so you could train him?". Kakashi shook his head while speaking "Nope I just did that to save him from Sakura because the boy is already traumatized as it was, but I did promise him that I would tech him more about the sharigan"

Hiruzen just sweatdroped on his answer but he then got a serious look when he heard Kakashi say "Naruto had taped into the Kyuubi's power and activated the charka cloak to the first tail."

Hiruzen then folded his fingers and said "Hmmmmm this is good and bad as Naruto has started to reach some of his true potential but he may succumb to the fox but, I will place my trust on him as he is stubborn like an ox. Kakashi just shook his head in agreement as he trusted his leader.

With Naruto

Naruto was in a training ground and throwing kunai at targets when he threw one to far to the left and went into the bushes. Cursing he went into the bushes and picked it up only to see a river in front of him. "Wait is this... it is!" Naruto said shocked as he saw the river where he winded up to that old man. Naruto then looked around before running down the river with determination to see that old man again.

After a little later Naruto once again ended up to the pond only to see a summoning salamander scurried from the water towards the forest. Naruto then made chase towards it because that might be the lead he needed. Naruto then stopped running as he saw the creäture scurried into a dark cave. Naruto then walked into it while turning his head around trying to see anything only for him to freeze up as he feels a blade on his throat.

Naruto then heard a rasping voice that said "Who are you and why have you disturbed me?". Naruto then looked to see the same person that saved him those years ago. "It's you! Your that guy that saved me from dying all those years ago." The old man just looked at Naruto for a moment and said "Hmmmm. . . it has been a while young one." The old man then took the blade from Naruto's throat and walked deeper into the cave while lighting the nearby candles. After a moment of silence the old man spoke once again. "So what brings you back to here? It's been years and you haven't come back here so why now?

"Well I have some free time since me and my team just finished a mission so we have a month off. Also I wanted to answer your riddle cause I think I've found the answer." The old man just smirked and said "Fine then what is your dream?"

Naruto then looked at him with a grin and said "To protect my loved ones and anyone who dare harms innocents." The old man then looked at Naruto and said "Come back here tomorrow and be ready to learn as this will be your hardest challenge." Naruto then started to walk away but not before looking back and said "But what is your name?"

"...Hanzo." And with that Naruto walked away with the name still in his head while waiting for the next day to begin.
