"Curious? One had asked.
For they wanted to hear the story of the two.
One was Light, the other Dark.
A balance of both was needed to keep the world from chaos.
One knew nothing but Destruction, the other only knew Order.
They could not coexist together, thus they clashed and fought.
However, on the fifth moon of their battle, Destruction dispersed.
What laid in front of the knight of Order, was only a little girl in its place.
Their journey together had just begun that very day/."
-The Writings of DV. Said to be hidden from the World's sight, it's current location unknown.
It was like as if she fell into the sea and could not move.
How long has it been ever since she saw her life in warm light?
The world is bleak and dark. Can she see something as beautiful as then again?
Never. Ever since She died.
No it was like that, until she met another girl.
A gentle but determined girl despite the odds stacked against her.
A figure appeared with its hand reached out, as if to grab her and pull her out of this eversinking depth.
Just like.. Like..
...
"For all of humanity, Serran, wake up, NOW!"
That one sentence managed to get her up from the darkness. Her eyes opened as fast as they could.
Who was it that called her up? Her vision focused to see two.. three? people looking at her.
"That took a while, how are you feeling?" She looked over to see the director standing with her arms folded. Mash had a different appearance, as much as she didn't want to admit it, that had worked.
"Other than my entire self not hurting anymore; yes, I am fine-" Serran stopped speaking when she saw Mash with a different appearance and the same Master candidate from before at her side. It was him from before, did he manage to save all three of us? Wait, how did the director even get here?-
"Mash? Don't tell me.." She was about to ask, but decided against it. "No, nevermind, and you are?-"
As she was about to open her mouth, she was stopped by the boy in question.
He was a medium sized boy with silver hair and azure blue eyes, in height he was no less a bit shorter than her. The command seals on his hand softly flared and glowed amidst the area.
"I can tell from your expression that you really have a lot of questions, but we can explain it to you on the way, right?" Said Master pulled her up once he was done healing her. "I'm Master candidate 48, Arthur Disvyne. It's a pretty unique family name if I ever heard one, but nice to meet ya."
Serran had to blink a few times before sheepishly rubbing her head. "Oh, my name is Serran." Disvyne? Where have I heard that before?
"Serran, huh. No last name?"
This was the reason why curiosity frustrates her so much. She sighed, this may take a while. "It is a complicated story, I'll tell you about it in another time, maybe after we are done with this mess."
She stood up and looked at their surroundings. "Now, can someone tell me where in the actual hell are we?"
...
It wasn't until Dr. Roman stepped in and told her everything, apparently he was able to connect to the others.
"I see, so someone sabotaged Chaldea, the other 47 in intensive care aside us, managed to get rayshifted to this "singularity" that you assume is the reason why there is no future for humanity. Other than that, Mash is a demi-servant successfully now, am I right, Doctor?" While catching Dr. Roman off guard with how she thought of the situation, and how she spoke about Mash.
Serran seemed a little, if not slightly pissed off about Mash's situation before she sighed. What a mess..
Arthur's situation, however.. It looked like they had to rely on him, being the one contracted to Mash at the moment.
As they slowly walked off while she had her dilema, she softly placed her palm at her heart, where the pain once was. Luckily, the faded wound had closed again.
She remembered about the day she dreaded that she never wanted it to happen again.
"Hey Serri, would you like to go see the stars from the hills?"
"Wait, you have never seen the stars before? Well, come on! It's a really beautiful view you will never forget!"-
..
The hill she where she watched the stars, was the very same hill where the Thousand Night War of the Beast and Man had ended.
Wait.. Who was talking to her and why did the name of that came up in her mind?
"Serran?" Mash turned around and called her upon seeing the veteran unmoving.
Snapping out of her thoughts, she followed along the group, leaving the previous questions in the back of her mind.
"Yes, yes.. I'll be right there.." She softly sighed.
"About your appearance now.." Serran gradually caught up to said Demi-Servant, and softly whispered to her while waiting for an explanation.
As Mash was done describing to her whatever she had saw that moment, the group had suddenly stopped.
Upon of the burning city of buildings, rubble and emptiness was stone statues. Stone statues that were possibly what used to be people.
".. I left something behind back there, I'll just go retrieve it." The veteran was not very comfortable with the aura emitting from the surroundings and turned around, running off by herself, leaving the rest of the group in dust.
. . .
Not that they had a say in it.. Other than the director in the group, Serran was a higher up out of them all. It sounds impossible, with that girl's bad luck and all- but she somehow was able to do it. With no choice, they decided to move on. She was going to come back anyways, right?
Unknown to them, a snake slithered about in the shadows, watching the group's every move. With one of the members gone, they were an easy target to ambush.
It awaited for the right moment. As the group had walked into its trap, it made its move.
Shink!
The sound of chains clinked together as the surrounded the group by surprise, closing off from all directions and blocked their escape.
Someone jumped and landed on the chains in front.
Mash, Arthur and Olga turned around to see a hooded purple haired lady in front of them, a scythe-like weapon in hand with her hair being able to turn into snakes that became chains.
The Shielder plants her shield down. "If only Serran-senpai was here.." With the Veteran gone, she was worried that the Servant present here might had gotten her first before moving on to them.
Determined, hoping that Serran was fine due to the fact she always was, she readied herself to defend the two despite the fact she was not able to. She glances at Arthur, who was her Master at the moment before looking back at her enemy-
"Well, this little girl has some guts I tell you, doesn't she?"
A/N: A short chapter, I must say. Uh, sorry I guess..
Anyways, a new addition to the party: Arthur Disvyne! For I shall be laying out some hints to the origin of his name, so look out for that.
If you don't know yet, I shall tell you right now: Memories to Hold is an F/GO AU, where it has nothing to do with a certain Master, really!
With our OC loaded with her own lore and backstory, you can sure sit and wait for that too.
That's.. About it I think..
R&R, really, please. I need some feedback or I will never improve! Just kidding, it's optional. I still appreciate it if you took your time to read anyways.
I'll see you next time, have a good day.
