set in prisoner of Azkaban after the train is attacked by dementors.
harry potter couldn't sleep. he tossed and turned in his bed but for the life of him he couldn't get to sleep. the things the dementors had shown him made him shudder. deciding he couldn't get anymore sleep harry got out of bed and walked down into the common room.
the sight he saw when he got down there made him smile. there on the couch near the fire was ginny Weasley. harry had always had a little bit of a crush on the youngest Weasley and hoped that she still had her crush on him.
harry took in her appearance and smile softly again. she was wearing her pyjamas which were blue and had a extremely comfy looking dressing gown on. she was snuggled up on the couch and to harry she looked really warm and comfy. although he did smile smugly when he thought she would be more comfy and warm in his arms.
harry slowly walked over to ginny and noticed that she was quietly drawing in a small notepad with a small dreamy smile on her face. I hope she's thinking of me harry thought to himself hopefully.
at this moment ginny looked up and instantly blushed at the sight of harry and shyly smiled at him. yes, she still likes me harry happily exclaimed.
harry blushed and shyly smiled back. "mind if I join you?" he asked quietly. she only nodded.
"how are you feeling?" harry asked as he sat down next to her.
"fine" was her reply, harry mentally kicked himself for the question. of course she's not fine , those bloody dementors probably affected her worse then me.
"do you want to talk about?" harry asked gently.
"talk about what?" she replied sadly. harry felt his heart brake at her tone and decided to help comfort her like he should of down last year.
"about what those dementors did to you, they affected me too" harry said. he heard a sniffle and saw that she was starting to cry. "do you want a hug?" he asked, this question surprised both of them since harry wasn't the biggest fan of physical contact.
ginny nodded so harry pulled her into a very awkward hug. he could tell that she wasn't getting any comfort from it since she was still trying not to cry. harry got an idea.
"do you want to sit in my lap?" he asked softly. she nodded and then procided to crawl into his lap. harry wrapped his arms around her and let her snuggle into his embrace. harry felt her begin to cry into his shoulder so he started to gently stroke her hair in a comforting fashion.
after a few minutes ginny started to relax and stopped crying but still sniffled a bit. she cuddled up to harry who was still lightly stroking her hair, something he was enjoying very much.
"do you want to talk about it now?" he whispered into her ear. harry felt her shake her head so decided to tell her how he was effected.
"I heard my mum screaming, I think it was before she died because I could hear her begging Voldemort" harry felt ginny flinch at the name "not to kill me and take her instead". harry felt tears in his eyes and looked down at ginny who was now looking up at him with a shocked face.
"that's horrible" she sobbed before hugging harry tighter "I heard tom" she croaked out.
"what did he say?" harry asked softly.
"he told me I was worthless and that you would never like me because of what I did" she said with a sad tone that could break anyones heart in matter of seconds.
harry continued to stoke her hair before speaking "your not worthless , tom is worthless and I don't blame you for what happened , your so strong gin for what you did and I do like you , I like you a lot actually"
"a lot?" ginny asked in interest and when harry looked down into her chocolate coloured eyes that he liked so much he saw the most hopeful expression he had ever seen.
"yeh, I like you a lot , I dare say I fancy you" he said whilst blushing into oblivion.
"you...you fancy me" she stammered.
"yeh, I think I have since we first met , its one of the reasons I feel so guilty about last year" harry said with shame.
"I fancy you too harry" ginny exclaimed whilst staring into his eyes "can I be your girlfriend, please" she kind of begged. harry was surprised by her declaration but was happy none the less. he was about to say yes when he got a thought he needed answered.
"you know im not the boy-who-lived im ju-" he started but ginny cut him off
" I know your not him , I know you don't like your fame, your just harry , the nice, cute, polite boy I wished good luck when my mom helped him get to the platform" harry smiled and was happy that she remerbered this "your the boy who loves flying , treacle tart and is so noble that he rescued his best mates sister when he could of let a grown up do it , your my hero harry , I want to be your girlfriend" she finished.
harry was beaming know that she knew so much about him."you know theirs a lot of rumors about me , I wouldn't want to destroy your reputation just because of me"
"I don't care" ginny said softly "im a Weasley , my reputation is already destroyed, I want to be your girlfriend".
"ok then" harry said before leaning down to place a sweet soft kiss on her lips. just before he leaned back he felt her return the kiss.
"my first kiss" smiled ginny as she snuggled into their embrace.
"my first kiss too" harry said with a goofy grin.
"I can't believe my first kiss was with harry potter, my five year old self would be seething with jealously right know" ginny said with her own goofy grin.
"I can't believe my first kiss was with ginny Weasley , my five year old self would be confused out of his mind right know at how I got a girl to kiss me" harry returned in a playful tone. they shared a laugh.
"know ive told you everything I like about you , tell me what you like about me" ginny asked with a smile.
"well" harry begin "in my mind your the cutest girl in Hogwarts and you look beautiful when your angry, confused or sad" he looked down at her face which was etched with confusion "see your beautiful" harry told her before giving her a small sweet kiss on the nose which caused her to giggle and blush.
"I like your hair, its so soft" he was still stroking her ginger locks "and the perfect shade of red, I like yours eyes because their the same colour as my favourite honeydukes chocolate and most importantly I like your freckles" he finished. they were both blushing furiously but neither cared.
"so what do you find attractive about me? because I don't think im that good looking" harry asked with mild interest.
"you are good looking" said ginny as she gazed into his eyes "you might be a bit scrawny but quidditch will definitely make you nice and lean, I like your hair because all I want to do is run my hands through it" at this moment she used one of her hands to run it through harrys messy black hair. she smiled dreamily.
"your eyes are the most wonderful shade of emerald green and whenever you look at me I feel my knees go weak" ginny said as she bit her lip at his gaze.
"well you may fall over with the amount of time im going to be looking at you" harry said rather cheekily but before ginny could retort harry bent down and kissed her softly.
the two just sat in silence for about half an hour , all the while exchanging sweet kisses and soft caresses. after a very nice long kiss that could of turned into a snog was the silence broken.
"thank you harry" said ginny who cuddled with her boyfriend even more.
"what for?" asked harry who was hoping she wasn't going to thank him for rescuing her from the chamber since he didn't need thanking in his mind.
"for making me feel special" she said whilst she looked up into his eyes and all harry could see was love , which caused him to smile and butterflies to circle in his stomach "after I was possessed by the dairy I felt so used and dirty , like tom had raped me or something but you've made me feel pure again".ginny got a shy grin on her face before continuing "I guess you could say you gave me my virginity back"
"im glad I did that for you" said harry before he bent down and kissed her with all the love he had for his first and most likely only girlfriend. after the kiss ended harry noticed that ginny had a mischievous glint in her eyes and a cheeky smile.
"I do want you to take it back one day though". harry stared at her in shock before he felt his cheeks heat up and he mumbled an ok.
"harry?" ginny asked after a few minutes.
"hmm" was her reply since harry was slowly drifting off to sleep.
"I forget to tell you that I think your scar is sexy" she purred into his ear which caused him to moan in response. before either off them could speak another word they simple cuddled up together before finally letting sleep claim them. harrys dreams were full of his redheaded girlfriend.
harry felt someone nudge him as he groggily woke up the next morning.
"harry , harry , get up" someone quietly hissed to him.
"bugger off, ron" harry mumbled and pulled whatever he was cuddled with closer to him. I don't have a teddy bear do I?.
"harry james potter , watch your language" the instinctively stern voice of his best friend hermione granger rang out. harry shot up and looked at his friend wide eyed. harry looked down to find ginny still in his lap, she had also just woke up. harry looked around the common room and instantly paled at what he saw. most of Gryffindor house was up and got extremely worried when he saw the gossip girls giggling in one of the corners.
ginny got off of harrys lap and stood up next to the bushy haired witch blushing like a tomato. harry followed suit and also stood up. he stole another glance at the common room and smiled when he saw the annoyed looks on some of the girls who were shooting daggers towards ginny. to annoy them even more harry swung a arm around his girlfriends shoulder and placed a sweet kiss on her kiss.
"im guessing you two are together now" hermione asked with a small smile on her face.
"yes we are" ginny said to her friend.
"look I woke you two up so ron wouldn't catch you , you know hes not going to take this kindly" hermione said quickly.
"ron" harry moaned "I forgot about ron"
"evidently not" huffed hermione. when the new couple shot her glares she smiled "look im happy for you two , you make a cute couple but you know ron wont like this"
"well he better get used to it because if I had to choose between him and ginny , I would choose my girlfriend" harry difiently told her whilst he smiled down at ginny.
"that's sweet but try not to get into a fight" hermione said with a worried smile and face. at that moment ron came down from the dorms and came up to the three. at first he didn't notice ginny since he was still sleepy looking.
"morning, hey harry where do you go last night" ron asked whilst rubbing his eyes and yawning.
"I had a nightmare so I came down here and fell asleep" harry replied with his arm still around ginny.
"alright" mumbled ron before he noticed ginny but didn't notice the way her and harry were positioned "oi, ginny what are you doing here, you better not be annoying harry" he snarled
"why would I be annoying my boyfriend Ronald" ginny snapped back before giving harry a peck on the lips "im going to get change, see you in a minute babe"
"missing you already" harry told her as she ran off to her dorm. he looked back at ron who had a shocked but angry face.
"you...you cant" ron spat angrily
"look ron , ginny is my girlfriend now and their is nothing you can do to stop it , got it" harry told his best mate in a commanding voice. ron was now red with anger and looked like he wanted to say somethimg but just stormed out of the portrait hole.
"ill go see if I can go calm him down" hermione said with a worried expression before he rushed after ron.
harry sighed and walked up to his dorm to get changed. a few minutes later he emerged in his school robes and found ginny waiting for him in the common room.
"how did he take it?" she asked and he gave her a quick peck on the cheek.
"he basically exploded at me" harry told her with a forlone face.
"im sorry" ginny told him as she gave his shoulder a squeeze. harry smiled at her.
"its alright , im just disappointed that he wouldn't trust me with you , I know how overprotective he is" harry said.
"its not that he doesn't trust you harry , hes just jealous" ginny informed him.
"I guess your right , come lets go to breakfast" harry led ginny by the hand out of the portrait hole. as they walked the corridors harrys thoughts went to the rest of the Weasley clan. he got worried. harry knew he couldn't give a rats ass to what percy would think and he knew ginny would as well.
harry thought that the twins would simple tell him to treat her well and then tease them both. harry hadn't met Charlie or bill so he didn't know what their reaction would be although he did know that bill was ginnys favourite brother and that bill returned the feelings. harry was worried what mr and mrs Weasley would say.
"would your parents be all right with us" harry asked to his girlfriend with a concerned expression.
"yes they'll be fine , mum was actually hinting at it back at the leaky cauldron" ginny told him with blush and reassuring smile.
soon the new couple found themselves outside the great hall. they both stopped and looked into eachothers eyes.
"ready?" harry asked ginny.
"ready" confirmed ginny. the two walked hand in hand into the Hogwarts eating area with smiles ready to face the onslaught.
