"Well I want, a boob job, liposuction, a new laptop, a new tv, an iPhone, iPad, and iPod. I want a new wardrobe, backstage passes to Arcade Fire, a spa day every month, and I want a cat," I started listing things only in my wildest dreams could come true. "Make that two cats."
"Done." I stood there dumbfounded. My cellphone rang an obnoxious tune.
"Hello?" I answered. Unsure who it could be.
"KARA!" A voice wailed on the other side. "You're okay!" She cried. I recognized the voice as Grant's mother. Suddenly it hit me. Like a wave crashing down. Last night Slenderman had eaten Lilly, Grant, and Jacob and I was in the same room as him trying to make a deal. That lying, dirty, cheating, scumbag! It took all my will not to hang up the phone and bitch slap him so hard he'd see the next millennium.
But right now I had to put on an act. "SUZAN!" I cried. "It was HORR-ible!"
"Are you alright?"
"Yes." I said innocently. "But I don't remember much."
"Oh that's okay. Lilly, Jacob and your parents are here. Are they okay?" She asked tentatively.
I stayed quiet for a few seconds to add affect. "They didn't make it," I whimpered.
She was silent for a few seconds. Honestly, I was sad that they were dead, but at the same time they weren't my closest friends in the world. I heard a wail of tears from the other side. After a good five minuets of crying she fianlly spoke again. A slight hiccup in her voice. "Kara? Can you come over to my place please?" Her voice was quiet and still had the saddening tone to it.
"Okay. I'll be there soon." I hung up the phone. I whipped my head around and stared at Slenderman right into his nonexistent eyes. "You lying little scum bag! How dare you! I trusted you with our lives and guess who dies? EVERYONE!" I scream.
He looked as if he was about to say something, but I didn't let him get a word in. "I can't believe I would actually trust a fucking horror character! Just wait 'till I tell the whole world about the 'Slenderman'!"
He looked fine untill I said I was going to blab to the whole world. I could see the tip of his tentacles coming from his back. Then there was a tentacle around my neck and I was up against a wall. "Listen here you little cunt! There's nothing in this world that can kill me. There's nothing in the next. So if you go around blabbing to the whole world, you've got another thing coming." His voice was dark and menacing.
"Yes." I managed to gasp out. I was running out of air fast.
"Good!" He let go of my neck and let me fall to the floor. I fell flat on my ass. I gasped for air, I watched helplessly as Slenderman regained his calm. His tentacles disappeared and he sat back down in the arm chair.
It surprised me how short he had gotten, only six or seven feet, back in the woods he was competing with the trees. "Listen your gonna have to go. You can't exactly go waltzing down the street casually." I expected him to have left so I started changing. I had my shirt halfway pulled around my head when I heard a small laugh.
I turned around and I saw Slenderman still sitting in my chair. I went red and quickly covered myself up. "What the fuck?!"
"You humans are so amusing." His velvety voice howled with laughter.
"Listen, it's kinda pervy to watch me change."
"Okay." He sounded unsure but he got up elegantly and walks out of my bedroom.
I let my shirt fall to the floor. I looked at myself in the mirror. I wasn't exactly the prettiest thing in the world. I was short, 5'3 and I was a little chubby. I had horrible mousy hair that was cut in a horrible bob. I had grey eyes and a small diamond stud sat in my nose. I got amazing grades and had a varied vocabulary. I had few good friends and I've never had a boyfriend. Perfect high school career.
I changed into some sweatpants and a sweatshirt for two reasons; one, to be comfortable, and two, to look like I've been crying the past eight hours.
I walked out into the living room/kitchen. Slenderman was bent over the counter analyzing my blender.
"That's a blender." I said, walking towards him and turning it on. He jumped slightly, but then he started to stick his hand into it.
"Don't do that." I advised turning it off.
"You humans have the weirdest of things."
"Well you're a sadistic killer trying to blend his hand off." I said while bending obverse the fridge. I grabbed the first thing my hand touched, it just happened to be a half eaten container of Chinese food.
I sat down at the island waiting for my food to be heated by the microwave, I switched on the tv. Nothing new, just the same old reality shows. But I still droned in on the tv until I heard the microwave. I toddled over to the microwave to receive my food. I watched Slenderman in my process of going to the living room.
"Uhh, do you want anything to eat?" I asked unsurley. I wasn't exactly sure if he could eat human food at all.
"No thank you dear." I plopped down onto the couch.
"Okay. You can sit down if you want." I guestered the easy-chair to my left. He gracefully walked over to the chair and sat on the edge of it.
He looked so out of place, yet so at home. After I finished eating I threw my stuff in the sink and went to grab my jacket.
"Okay, Slendy, you can stay here if you want, but I gotta go so." I said awkwardly.
"Wait dear. Come here!" He summoned.
I walked over to the tall being. He didn't say anything but placed his hand on my shoulder. Being this close to him gave me an unnatural urge to melt into him, a very new feeling for me. But the next thing I know, I'm out of my apartment, in the woods behind Suzan's house.
