Danny's POV
My name is Daniel Fenton. I am fourteen years old and a Freshman in high school. I have raven black hair and cold, icy blue eyes. I am also something that there are only three of in existence so far. I am half ghost.
My parents, Jack and Maddie Fenton, are ghost hunters. I remember one time when they invented a ghost portal:
"Kids! Come quick!" Mom yells up the stairs from the basement. My big sister, my friends Sam and Tucker, and I exchange glances.
My parents invent tons of weird stuff to hunt ghosts. Some of their inventions have been The Fenton Thermos and The Fenton Anti-Creep Stick.
We slowly walk downstairs, afraid of what this "invention" is going to turn out to be.
"Your mother and I have invented the thing to prove ghosts exist. Currently, we are ghost hunters, but haven't been able to prove the existence of ghosts.
"That's because they don't exist," I murmur to my sister and friends. They try not to laugh.
"So, we have invented..." My dad pauses for dramatic affect. " The Fenton Ghost Portal!"
Mom pulls the sheet off and we are amazed. Their invention looks like nothing that they have invented before.
"If this doesn't work, we are going to give up our career as ghost hunters!" Dad says, holding up a plug.
I exchange nervous glances with Sam, Tucker, and my big sister, Jazz. We are annoyed by how obsessed Mom and Dad are with this, but we know how much it means to them and we don't want them to be unhappy. And we all know the Fenton Ghost Portal won't work.
Dad picks up the extension cord. "All I need to do is plug these two together and it'll fire up and show us a world that we are going to call The Fenton Ghost Zone!"
"Sweetie, I thought we agreed on The Ghost Zone," Mom tells him.
"Fine..." My dad pulls the cords closer together. "Three!" Even closer. "Two!" Closer still. "ONE!" he bellows, plugging the machine in. Electricity runs through the portal. It sparks and glows and then stops. The portal stands there looking the same as it was.
"I- I don't understand. All our calculations should be correct," Mom says, upset. They slowly walk upstairs.
"Well, that was useless to my life. I'm leaving!" Jazz wanders upstairs.
"Here." Sam tosses me a white jumpsuit.
"What's this for?" I ask.
"Put it on!"
"Why?"
"OK, fine, but at least let me take a picture." Sam rushes me in front of the portal.
"Say cheese!" She pushes the shutter button on her camera. I don't smile.
"OK, you saw the portal. Now can we please go now? Besides, it doesn't work anyway."
"But come on Danny! A ghost zone? You have to be curious! And what's the worst that can happen? It activates?"
"I guess you're right. I mean, who knows what cool, supernatural things exist on the other side?" I pull on the suit.
"Wait a minute." Sam walks up to me and pulls a picture of dad's head off the jumpsuit. "You don't want to walk around with that on you chest."
I take a deep breath and walk in the portal. It's full of wires, cords, machinery, and gadgets. I rest my hand on the wall.
Suddenly there is the sound like the sound of a computer starting up. I quickly remove my hand to see an ON button. Oops.
Electricity bolts everywhere through the machine and through me. I scream.
"Danny!" I hear a muffled cry of my name. I blink hard. The pain is too much to bare.
"Danny!" A cry again. It sounds like... Sam?
"Don't worry Danny, we'll get help! Tucker, go get Mrs. and Mr. Fenton."
I hear someone say ow.
"GO!"
I pass out.
The next thing I know, I'm in a hospital bed. Sam and Tucker are leaning over me. Then, I mysteriously fell through the bed. We then learned I had ghost powers. Few people know. Just Sam, Tucker, Jazz, my arch enemy Vlad, and my "cousin" Danielle.
Well, enough about me. On to my friends.
Tucker Foley is fourteen and a Freshman in high school as well. He has black hair and green eyes, plus glasses. He also wears a red hat on his head. He is a techno geek. He has tons of gadgets and gizmos. He can name everyone of them and I can barely name half of them!
Then, there's Samantha Manson, but I suggest for your life's sake that you call her Sam. Sam is fourteen and in ninth grade as well. She has black hair and purple eyes. She is also Goth. I sort of like-like Sam, but I'm a little scared to admit it.
Then there's Jasmine Fenton, my older sister. Jazz has brown hair, green eyes and is a genius. She is only sixteen and she's already thinking about college. She can be annoying, but she's my sister, and I love her anyways.
Today, I was flying around with Sam, Tucker, and my ghost cousin Danielle, in the Ghost Zone in a vehicle my parents invented called the Spectra Speeder. We were going to return Frostbite's map to him.
Danielle is my clone made from my arch enemy Vlad. She has my same black hair and icy blue eyes except she's a girl. Vlad failed, but now Dani's on my side and we love each other like cousins do.
"Real world object detected," the spectra speeder says. It's been programmed so that every time it finds something from earth to say that.
"What the..." The items that appeared on the scanner were people. "Guys, we have to save them," I tell my friends. They nod.
"But, we have to hurry. The portal is right there, but who knows how long it's going to stay open!" Tucker says, pointing at the swirly green portal.
There are portals that pop up everywhere around the world. They take you to the ghost zone: a realm with swirly green and black patterns on the "walls." There are green portals that open randomly and take you to another place or through time. There are also floating purple doors that do the same, except mostly to different parts of the ghost zone. The ghost zone is another dimension. It fills in all the spots between the dimensions.
I fly the Spectra Speeder through the portal. We blink as we fly through, bright lights everywhere.
When we're through, we examine the area.
"Oh my gosh! It's the Middle Ages!" The Gothic girl says. She knows tons of random things because she loves reading books that Goths read.
"Well, lets find those kids and get outa here!"
Lillian's POV
We gave up. It's impossible to escape a place like this without a time machine. It's like trying to escape a metal safe with no doors and no tools.
"I wish the last thing I said to mom wasn't, 'You can't make me not hang out with my friends!' followed by me slamming the door," Kimi says guiltily.
"Wow, I can't imagine you doing that, Kimi," I tell her. She's a really sweet girl.
"I wish I would have spent some time with mom like she wanted me to yesterday while she was knitting. She wanted to give Dil and I knitting lessons, and I turned her down to see "Reptar Returns" with you guys," Tommy admits.
"Knitting lessons were fun bro, you should've stayed!" Dil tells him.
"Why does this not surprise me that you liked them?" I ask him.
There is a moment of silence. Then, a cute boy runs over to us. He has the really cute hair that hangs in his face, icy blue eyes, bluer than any blue you've ever seen, and he is older than I am. I'd guess thirteen, fourteen, or even fifteen.
"Hey! Are you kids lost?" he asks us.
My friends and I look at each other. From the clothes he's wearing, he most not be from this century, so I nod.
"Well, hurry up! I can get you home, but we have to hurry before the portal closes again."
We run off to the vehicle. He hid it so no one can tell it isn't from here. He rushes us all back on and guides us about two miles away to a portal. We make it through in the nick of time, for it closes seconds after.
"Phew, I'm glad we're safe. I'm Danny by the way, and these are my friends Sam and Tucker and my cousin Danielle."
"I-I'm Lillian. Or Lil. You can call me Lil," I respond nervously. "And this is my twin brother Phil and my friends, Kimi, Chuckie, Tommy, Dil, Angelica, and Susie."
"Nice to meet all of you. May I find out where you live so I can drop you off?"
"Oh, we live in Yamica, California."
"OK, according to this map, a portal is opening right... NOW!" he says and sure enough, a portal opens.
"Hey, it's right by the bowling ally! We can finish our game!" Kimi says happily.
"No offense Kimi, but I'd rather not," her big brother says.
"We've spent enough time together already." Tommy adds.
"Fine. You can drop us off here, Danny," Kimi tells him.
We walk home. "I guess we're gonna have to get new bikes, huh?" I say.
"Yep."
We enter Tommy's house.
"Mom! We're home!" he calls.
"There you kids are! So how was the bowling game?" Tommy's mom asks.
"It was great Aunt Didi," Angelica says taking over as the rest of us wonder what to say.
"Great. By the way, we got you kids tickets to the Middle Ages Museum! Isn't that exciting?" she asks.
"That's, um, great mom, but we'll pass. We have lots of homework we need to finish." Tommy tells her.
"Well, OK."
We start walking upstairs.
"By the way, have you kids seen Harold? His mom called to make sure he was with you."
Oops.
Harold's POV
"Guys? A little help? Guys!"
