Highschool DxD: The Many Faces Of Issei
Chapter 3: Rage Of Battle.
It was the night before the meeting with Sirzechs. Issei has been summoned by his parents and he was going to conference room in his home to attend their summons. Issei strode towards the large doors of the conference room which was more like an audience chamber. Stepping into the room Issei glances up at his mother and father who sat on two chairs that sat midway up on the raised dais. However behind them sat a throne which was bigger and was for a king. Issei glances at the seat as he stops at the bottom of the dais.
"I do not deserve to sit there yet."
Issei then drops to one knee. His mother and father gesture for him to raise but smile lovingly at him. As Issei rose he could tell his mothers and fathers shadows were present. He gives a respective nod which they return with a nod of their own hooded heads.
"Thank you for attending so promptly son. As you have have asked we have put the word out for any survivors to meet at the old palace, however it appears that we have an issue. The first groups to arrive have noticed others have already taken residency there."
"Do we know who or what is living there?"
"No we don't others have set up another camp and are watching for any who approach the old palace. They are directing our people to the new camp keeping them out of harms way. Will you go my son and clear the grounds of what infestation has taken hold there?"
"I will it shall be done."
"With that said your own shadows have returned from their business else were and they will accompany you for the task."
Issei spins around as two individuals enter the room from behind. One female and one male. The male was a man known as Vali, who was Issei's best friend and was possessor of one of the heavenly dragon scared gears. Which was known as divine dividing which contained the Dragon Albion. The next was a known as Elsha a tall and beautiful woman with long blonde hair and green eyes. She was the possessor of the other heavenly dragon scared gear known as the boosted gear which contained the Dragon Ddraig.
They both kneel before his parents and rise just as promptly and take their respected places to Issei's right and left. Vali grins at him and Elsha smiles with warm and suggestive smile of her own.
"Thank you for your trust we shall see to it that the mission is complete and promptly."
Both of Issei's parents respond with a nod of their heads with Issei's father rising from his seat first.
"Now go with all haste but return safely and swiftly."
The three bow once more and take three steps back before spinning around and leaving the room. The doors close behind them and Issei places his arms around the shoulders of his shadows and smiles at each of them into turn.
"Alright lets clear up nice and fast. I have a very important meeting to attend I want you both to accompany me. Only kill if we need to, I am trying to make peace with devils and the palace is now in their territory.
"Well we best get to it then. Let us see how much you have improved in combat."
Issei turns to look at Vali and sighs, some things never change it would appear. He then turns towards Elsha and she nods as if sensing his thoughts.
"Don't worry it will all go according to plan."
Issei nods hoping she was right, he had many doubts. What would happen if the people he faced were devils and they never knew his people had a prior claim to them area. He couldn't just kick them out could he?
"Stop thinking about what will happen until we actually arrive my lord."
A magical circle beneath Elsha appears and she beckons Vali and Issei to stand by her. Taking up positions to her left and right the three vanish. However unknown to the three, Rias Gremorys familiar was observing and was now leaving to report back to its master.
At the old palace of the changeling's a gathering of criminal elements had taken root there. Stray devils, fallen angels and exiled members of the church were gathered. It would appear that the illegal sale of scared gears was taking place as some sort of auction.
The leader of the scared gear thieves stood watching the proceeds as the bids went up and up. However she took her own fair share of them for her private stash. Many of the criminal underworlds of the three factions even the human, Yokai and Westerns monsters criminals where also present. It was a good turn out for the sale but she felt a presence that shocked her.
"No no no no!"
She turns as a two of her goons run towards her with panic on their faces.
"Sorry to bother you ma'am we have a situation."
"I know not one, but both of the dragon emperors have come that can only mean Issei is with them. Return to my room and grab the private stash of Scared Gears, we are leaving."
Just as those words are the whole palace that she made her hide out shakes. Cursing that they had broken in already she runs in the direction of her room as the palace shakes and rumbles. While in the main auction chamber both dragon emperors made their power known. Various beings of the factions lay out motionless and captured by Issei's shadows.
Issei himself march through the centre of the chamber, casual taken out any one with casual blows from his fists and feet. It was then a magical attack is sent his way. Issei being who he is, didn't even bother to dodge or deflect the attack taking it on directly. There is a large explosion which floors many of the combatants nearby Issei emerges unscathed and looks up towards the second level of auction room where a magician was preparing herself to unleash another magical attack.
Issei focus's mentally and his form begins to change, instead of taking the form of ancient demon of terror, his body ignites into a living flame. Like a human fireball Issei fires him self at the magician. Crashing through the walkways railing leaving behind the charred remains, Issei hits the magician like a comet smashing them against the wall with explosive force.
Grabbing her by the throat he throws her over the edge of the balcony. Following it up with another explosion of flame Issei causes her body guard to flee in all directions. Issei then changes his form from an elemental force to a massive man sized panther. With a roar the massive black cat pounces on the runaways and continues to clean up those who oppose him.
Smashing the door to her secret stash open, the person known as Yuuma, a friend of Issei's sets to escape from her former friend. They had met many years ago when Issei stepped in to save her from hunters unknowing who or what she was. She fell for him but that turned to disgust when she learned he had come to Kuoh and was getting to friendly with Rias Gremory a devil of all things. All of those scared gears she had taken to help him get revenge on the factions including her own. Only for him to meet that red headed vixen and sue for peace, instead she wont have it.
"I'll kill him first!"
She turns around as the sounds of combat come closer and freezes as a big black panther prowls around the corner. Theirs eyes lock and it clicks, Yuuma now Raynare panics upon seeing the love of her life. She watches as he shifts his form back to form of a human and stumbles forward his hand out stretched as if in a pleading gesture. That enraged her to no end.
"No you betrayed me left me for a long time, I tried to so much to get you to notice me. I only wanted to be your equal and together we would get revenge on the factions even my own for what they did. Then I hear that you have hooked up with the heiress devil from the Gremory house and want peace. This is not the Issei I knew, you are a fake when you die he will come back to me!"
Issei stands distraught listening to someone he cherished like a sister say these things. He could not see the spear of light she had thrown at him he stood transfixed as the spear got closer and closer. Raynare grins with triumph but it quickly turns to rage as magical attack shatters the spear at they very last second with Rias appearing with her entire peerage.
"You are the one who betrayed him! Issei wanted nothing more to have peace not the vengeance you claim. If he was a fake why did freeze and strike you like I will!"
Rias hurls a bolt of her demonic power Raynare twists out of the way but it still takes her right hand destroying it utterly. With a howl of pain and rage, Raynare turns and sprints for the exit. Rias and her peerage are about to pursue but Issei reaches up and calls out her name. She turns to look at his eyes here glazed over and tried to rise but he could not. Shock had clearly hit him his lips her trembling.
Rias drops down to her knees and pulls him into a warm embrace and holds him tight.
"Its alright Issei, it's alright I am here she is gone. You don't have to worry about her now."
Issei's shadows appear a short time later and see him in his current state Elsha glares at Rias with something akin to jealously but it quickly suppresses it. Vali however steps forward no longer in his scale mail he still looked threatening.
"Tell me what happened and the truth only go."
Rias glares at him but replies.
"Forget about the truth of it for now he is in shock we should get him home. Suffice to say I am the devil who is helping him achieve peace between our races and his former childhood friend happens to be the one who was running this operation. If I hadn't of shown up, the shock that overwhelmed Issei upon seeing his friend would of killed him. Some protectors you turned out to be!"
Vali raises his hand as if to slap Rias and her peerages expressions turn to one of battle readiness. Elsha grabs Vali by the arm and shakes her head. She leans down and reluctantly Rias hands him over. Elsha stands up again and nods.
"I will say thanks for you stepping in, however talk to me or Vali in that tone again little girl and I will personally rip your head from your shoulders. Be grateful I do not so so already, I know who you are Rias, my lord likes you but should you harm him or try to use him for your own ends well you know I will do."
Elsha turns on her heels and walks away with Vali following. Rias anger begins to boil over but Kiba and Akeno shake their heads. Rias sighs and nods it looks she best report to her brother and get their meeting with Issei put off to another time. She then thought about the woman who claimed to be his friend. When Rias next ran into her it would be their last meeting.
