Also pretend in Equestria is made out of many kingdoms (So Ponyville is a kingdom :3) But the most powerful kingdom is Canterlot and Draqoricula so yeah... Anyways… On to the chapter *WOOSH*
Chapter 2: The Promise
It was what one would call a perfect day. The sun was shining brightly in the land of Equestria as its rays beamed down encasing all of the ponies and draconequus in its warm embrace while the peaceful sounds of nature trap those in a melodic trance to those who heard it.
In the kingdom of Canterlot, laid an enormous and elegant castle where the royal family reside. Who is the royal family you ask? They are one of the most well known family in all of Equestria the rulers of Canterlot themselves; King Blazer who is a strict yet just king. Queen Celestia who like her husband is just however relaxed and laid back. Lastly Princess Fluttershy who is a kind, gentle pony whom despite appearing numerous times in public is still as shy as can be, she is known as the most beautiful pony therefore it's only natural she would have many suitors asking for her hand in marriage, I would get back on that later.
The loud squeals of delight as young foals, dragons and draconequus ran around without a care in the world, the adults watched with smiles adorning their faces as they watched their offspring who appeared to be having the time of their lives.
"WAIT UP DISCORD!" A certain purple and green dragon yelled trying to catch up with his best friend
"SORRY SPIKE, BUT EVEN THOUGH YOU'RE MY BEST FRIEND IT DOESN'T MEAN I'M GOING TO LET YOU WIN!" Discord yelled back
Discord scuttled up the small hill and touched the apple tree with his lion paw and jumped up in down in victory, ego swelling with every second. "I WIN!" He squealed 6 young foals and Spike shortly followed huffing and puffing trying to catch their breath. Once everyone has caught their breath, each of the young children took turns to congratulate the young prince.
Oh, did I forget to mention that our young draconequus is royalty too? No? Well Discord here, is part of a royal family too. Just like Fluttershy, Discord's family is one of the most well known families. Discord is the heir to the throne in the kingdom of Draqoricula, one of the most powerfullest kingdom (The other one is Canterlot :3). His father, Black Darkness and his mother Eris were both alike in every way. They both loved chaos like all of their subjects (Who were draconequus as well) and the two of them loved stirring up trouble to their subjects and visa versa. While the both are laid back and know how to take a joke, they have a common rule to keep the peace as in no violence is tolerated in the kingdom. All those who oppose to their rule shall face their wrath. Discord has always admired his parents, he hopes one day he would have a bride and the couple would have their relationship similar to his parents.
Young Discord's POV (Point Of View)
I smiled with glee as everyone congratulated me on winning the little race we had in the best garden Canterlot castle had to offer.
"Congratulations on winning Discord" Twilight Flopple- I mean Sparkle said with a smile, she was the most serious out of our friend group. Always ranting about studying this and don't fail Queen Celestia that, she honestly needs to lighten up a tad bit more.
"Yeah, congratulations. But next time I will beat you for sure!" Rainbow Dash, otherwise known as my biggest rival. We love competing against each other trying to prove which one out of the two of us was the best.
"I doubt that! Rainbow Crash-" A large smack came onto my head, I yelped in surprise at the sudden impact. My gaze quickly averted to the culprit, I had to give them a piece of my mind!
My face of anger quickly faded into a gaze of slight fear as I saw the emotionless face of the one and only Apple Jack. She had that look of 'Try starting a fight, I dare you', I didn't want to deal with her wrath right now so I postponed challenging Rainbow for another day.
I slightly zoned out after that, my gazed shifted to my parents who were sitting with a nearby table with Queen Celestia and King Blazer having some afternoon tea. Their eyes gave me a look of pride, they were obviously proud of my victory even though it wasn't an official race.
As I looked back of my friends I see the same old, same old. Twilight is reading a book that magically appeared out of nowhere, Pinkie pie is being Pinkie Pie, Spike was ogling over Rarity as she talks to Rainbow Dash while Apple Jack seems to be staring at Spike with-
Oh? Is that jealousy I see? Ohohoho~ I sense a love triangle (Sorry if anyone ships Apple Jack or Spike with other people but I ship it thanks to Bride Of Discord by Disney Fanatic)
I feel like I'm forgetting someone… Oh right! Where is my sweet darling Flutter-
"U-um Discord? Are you okay? You seem spaced out..."
As if she were a ghost, the foal I was just thinking about was right in front of me. She was so close, our noses were practically touching! Wait, WHEN DID SHE GET THIS CLOSE!? Taking a slight step back I tried to respond as calmly and cool as possible. Keyword: tried
"Y-yeah, o-of course… Is there something you wanted?" Dangit I stuttered, she must think I'm a total idiot. GOOD JOB DISCORD! Hint the sarcasm.
"I-I just wanted to congratulate you on winning" She said as an angelic smile etched across her face with a faint of red on her cheeks indicating she was embarrassed.
Aw~ She was so cute when she's embarrassed. I feel my face heating up, QUICK! TURN AWAY BEFORE SHE NOTICES! If you probably haven't guessed already, I'm in love with one of my best friends. To be more specific Fluttershy. Or, at least that's what my parents told me when you feel these things for someone.
End Of Young Discord's POV
The parents of the young royals chuckled as they notice Discord's red face. They all sipped their tea and took little nibbles of their cake.
"Blazer that daughter of yours is quite a charmer, I've never seen my son so red in his life! I should know, I hit him with a balloon filled with red paint!" Black Darkness complemented with a snicker
"Yes, she would be quite the lovely queen someday. However, the day she walks the aisle would be hard for me. I just hope she chooses the right husband for herself." Blazer sighs
"Oh, those two are so cute together!~~~ I bet you 100 bits that those two would definitely end up together in the future" Eris squealed full on fangirling at her OTP
"Dear, it's not a bet when everyone agrees on the VERY obvious truth" Black Darkness deadpanned
"I'll still hold on to that bet though, I would like the 100 bits a week before the wedding. Thank you very much for your kind donation." Celestia remarks she glanced at the source of the approaching hoof steps. "Oh, it looks like our afternoon tea is ready, let's call the children"
The parents beckoned over their children to come eat their afternoon tea. The children sat in their respective seats while the maid quietly served the royals and their friends chocolate cake. After finishing the task, the maid respectively bowed and left to tend to her other duties. They all ate their chocolate cake occasionally drinking their tea- or milk in the children's case.
Suddenly a small crash was heard on the table, everyone glanced at the source of the noise which showed a shattered plate and spilt cake on the floor which was next to Fluttershy who had tears pricking at the corner of her eyes on the verge of crying. Discord who was next to her widened his eyes and quickly trying to calm her down, he could bear to see his beloved Fluttershy cry. I mean who wouldn't? It tugs at your heartstrings and hits you with the feels an- Anyway as I was saying…
"Please don't cry, h-here you could have some of my cake" Discord says in an attempt to cheer her up. Quickly taking a piece of the cake from his share with his fork and put the piece close to her mouth to which she opened allowing Discord to feed her. Fluttershy dried her eyes as she chewed on the cake taking it the exquisite ranges of chocolate in that little piece.
As Discord continued to feed her the adults mentally squealed taking in the sight and the imprinted it in their minds, their ship is sailing. Rainbow Dash gagged at the lovey-dovey scene that was taking place in front of her.
"Ewwww, you guys are acting like a married couple" She commented making the twos faces turn extremely red.
"Oh grow up Rainbow Dash you will probably be like that with YOUR future boyfriend" Twilight retorted obviously done with her at this point. The comment Twilight made was enough to get Rainbow Dash blushing red with both embarrassment and anger to the point where she looked like a rainbow tomato or something…
"Eww no way Twi! Boys are icky and gross! I'd rather die than date a boy" Rainbow spat out with disgust. Everyone just mentally rolled their eyes, everyone knew that Rainbow is going through that phase where young girls find boys to be gross but everyone knew that in the end she was going to fall in love at some point in the future.
"OOOOHH! Does that mean Discord and Fluttershy are going to get married!?" Rarity squealed, she was practically designing dresses already in her head.
"W-what!?" Fluttershy squeaked out, still trying to process what in Equestria is going on. Poor child.
"~Fluttershy and Discord sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G~" the children (Excluding Fluttershy and Discord" sang teasing the two.
Discord turned beet red, this time more in anger than embarrassment. He began to chase after them leaving Fluttershy trailing behind them in a attempt to calm him down. While the parents simply observed chuckling looking at the children running about in the yard.
After running around non-stop for a good 20 minutes or so, the children found themselves laying on the grass side by side cloud gazing (Just in case if you were wondering, the order went: Rarity, Spike, Apple Jack, Fluttershy, Discord, Twilight and Rainbow Dash). The children became bored very quickly and began throwing out some ideas on what the should do.
"How about we play magic basketball?" Discord suggested which got rejected easily due to the fact that only 3 out of 8 can actually use magic.
"How about we play wedding? I'll be the ring bearer, Twilight could be the priest, Rarity the flower girl, Pinkie Pie, Apple Jack and Rainbow Dash the maids of honour while Discord and Fluttershy the bride and groom" Spike said. No one opposed to it because they all know Spike's true intentions behind it, it's obvious he is trying to set them up being the wingman he is. Well everyone knew except Flutters of course.
The children got to work and began to set up the venue for the so-called 'wedding'. Everything was ready, Rarity was being extra she even made outfits for everyone.
"Okay, everything is ready. We are just missing the rings, we can't get them married without rings" Rarity informed
Everyone looked around to see if the could find anything that could be a makeshift ring. Twilight saw some flowers and used her magic to pluck them out from the ground and twisted them into making them a ring-like shape, while she got some thread Rarity randomly had with her and made one of the rings a necklace with the ring instead of the charm. Everyone got into positions and thus the 'ceremony' started. After Twilight speaking for a really long time they finally got up to the bit where Fluttershy and Discord exchange rings and say I do and stuff.
"Do you Discord, take Fluttershy to be your lawfully wedded wife?" Twilight spoke
"Isn't it pronounced 'waffley'?" Pinkie pie interjected interrupting the ceremony.
"No, why would it be pronounced waffley? We aren't talking about waffles here. The correct way to say it is lawfully" Twilight corrected
"WAFFLEY"
"LAWFULLY"
After a solid 5 minutes of the two arguing, they managed to continue the ceremony. After that was done Twilight was about to make it 'official'.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may hug the bride" (They be young, I ain't making them kiss yet they are too young.) Twilight announced
They then hugged and congratulate the 'newlyweds'. It was soon after the parents had called the children to come inside the castle as it was getting dark soon. One by one the kids went inside until it was only Discord and Fluttershy left. Discord has asked Fluttershy to wait a little before going inside because he wanted to tell her something important.
Young Discord's POV
I'm mentally freaking out right now, it's just Fluttershy and me now in the garden… Alone… It's going to be fine just deep breaths Discord, can I really go through with this?
"So Discord, what was the thing you wanted to tell me?" Fluttershy asked with a curious look etching on her face
I opened my mind to speak but no words can come out and my throat became dry. Why must you betray me like this!? My mind screeched at my body. Quick Discord, say something at least! Your looking like a fool right now.
"I- Ihaveaproposalforyou" I blurted out (Translation: I have a proposal for you)
Great job Discord! You sooo don't look like an idiot at all. I sarcastically said, you could practically hear slow clapping in the background.
"Hm? What is it?" She asked intrigued. I wonder how she was even able to catch that.
"Marry me when we are older" I bluntly stated, watching her face slowly getting redder by the second its so cute!~~~
"H-huh!?" She squeaked out shocked
"I said I want you to be my queen in the future" I repeated gaining more confidence
"B-but why me?" She asked
"Well, who wouldn't want to marry you? You're a kind, gentle pony whom despite appearing numerous times in public is still as shy which honestly is I find adorable, not to mention quite intelligent and quite frankly, the most beautiful pony I've ever laid eyes on. The perfect candidate as my queen. So what do you say?" I asked her my eyes filling with hope
"Um, no" She bluntly stated
Well, there goes my heart. I have never been more devastated in my life. Oh what shall I do without her? I don't think I'll ever be able to move o- Wait. Is she giggling?
"I'm just kidding, of course I would marry you Discord! I like you too!" She said as she engulfed me into a hug, to which I returned happily.
After a couple more seconds we both realised from the hug and went inside. I spent the rest of the evening with the others until it was time to go to bed. I headed upstairs to my guest bedroom which I shared with Spike and fell asleep with a grin on my face and entered dreamland where I proceeded to dream about my future with my beloved Fluttershy.
End Of Young Discord's POV
But little did Discord know, that fulfilling his promise with Fluttershy would be a bit more complicated than he originally thought...
