Chapter Two: Surprise! I'm not dead!
xxx
Naruto came from a simple family- he was an only child, and his parents loved and adored him very much. Even when he was being punished for the many pranks he pulled during his adolescence, they would never raise a hand to their darling son. So, it came as a great surprise to him that he had such a high tolerance for pain as Sakura once again landed a punch in the innocent blonde's face.
He didn't even have time to protect his face chastity this time.
"Sakura- why?" he half whined half cried as he fell slow motion to the floor. As his cheek hit the cold, welcoming tile he closed his eyes, attempting to find his happy place as he did every other time the pink haired banshee's super-fist connected with his organic punching bag of a face. A few seconds later he heard another thump fairly close to his early resting place, and he cracked open an eye expecting to see his new brother in arms joining him on the battlefield; however, to his surprise he was instead met with wisps of navy blue hair almost directly in front of his face.
"Hina-hime!" He heard many footsteps shuffle around them, their cold lifeless corpses suddenly gaining the attention of their peers. Okay, not cold and lifeless, but in this position Naruto felt as though he could afford to be a bit dramatic. He didn't understand why Hinata fainted, though. Sure, she used to all the time in middle school, but shouldn't the blood rush to her new knockers instead of her face now?
Man. Naruto did not understand girls.

Oh no he didn't.
That new dog idiot friend of Naruto's did not just say what she thought he said. And he's just standing there acting like it was nothing? As the stronger half of the Official Hinata Protection Committee, it was her duty to clean up the rabble, and baby, today was trash day.
Step one was easy: identify the trash. Dog boy and Naruto was a definite yes, and after little deliberation it was time for step two; connect fists with faces. Naruto was obviously her first victim; although she hated to admit it he was much faster than her, and if he got a head start she doubted she could catch up with him, which is why his punishments must always be swift and precise. His cries fell on deaf ears, and as he hit the ground she turned to the next offender.
Sakura did not know his stats. She didn't know how many punches it would take to take him down, so she had to make sure that the first one counted. Blinded by rage she drew her fist back, preparing a strike that would make professional boxers bow to her glory, but as she rushed forward for the attack-
Her fist connected much sooner than it should have.
Not even a second passed when she heard a soft 'thud' on the floor next to her feet.
She heard a shrill voice call out, but she didn't want to believe the horror that came out of her best friend's mouth.
She didn't realize she had her eyes closed.

What did he get himself into?
Shino had his hands full with Kiba- he did not need another pet to look after, and he certainly did not need to be acquainted with Hell's Fists of Fury. However, when an innocent girl is caught in the crossfire and punched in the face, his good conscience would not let him stand idly by. Before he could act, however, the more level-headed female of what he assumed to be a trio rushed to the unconscious girl's aid.
Wow, how responsible. She's really good in emergencie-
"Oh my god! Hina-hime! Are you okay? Speak to me!"
Shino wasn't anything close to a doctor, but he was at least 90% sure that slapping an unconscious girl was not proper first aid procedure. As predicted, the other students started swarming like flies, and with a heavy sigh he made his way past the crowd. "Might as well get a teacher," he grumbled to himself, but before he could get too far he felt a familiar weight on his shoulders.
"Good idea, Bug Boy! Leave the scene of the crime before someone considers you a suspect!" He wasted no time sparing his friend his usual glare, and as he adjusted his glasses he let out a low growl.
"Stay here. I hope the teachers blame you." He felt the pressure on his shoulders disperse, and he could tell he left his friend confused. Shino took opportunities as they appeared, and he used this one to quickly escape Kiba's line of sight and attempt to find a figure of authority in this chaos.
"What? How is this my fault?" he heard Kiba mumble, and resisting the urge to face palm he moved on ahead.
This was going to be a long year.
