A/N AHH IM SORRY. I had school and exams and homework and family and just so much stuff going on... so here's a chapter on the last day of 2014 =). ENJOY!

Chapter 3:

"She's one of them." I heard that boy, Carter, say.

"She can't be." His sister replied tentatively.

"She is."

"She can't be."

"Sadie, mom said that there would be rival magic now that Egyptian gods have retreated…"

"You don't think she meant that there's a whole world of Greeks out there…"

"Well, she does have a Greek dagger." I heard a weapon being drawn from its scabbard. "And it's made from the same material Percy's sword was made of."

I shot up. Carter stumbled back a little; shocked by my sudden movement, but Sadie's only reaction was a slight widening of her eyes.

"Percy? Percy Jackson? Do you know where he is? Is he alright? What's going after him? Why is he on the run constantly? Do you know why he keeps disappearing?" I blurted out in a rush, and then put both hands over my mouth waiting for their reaction. Sadie and Carter both looked a little confused, trying to make sense of my rush of words, and eventually Sadie spoke.

"Um… What are you talking about?" she said uncomprehendingly, looking at me as though I were an alien.

Carter looked at his sister and shushed her before turning to look at me.

"…Does this mean you know Percy Jackson?" Carter asked suspiciously, and his eyes widened when I nodded.

"But… how? I had a hunch there were more like him but…"

"Well, he's my… friend. A really close friend. And he's been missing for 375 days," I glanced at my watch, "5 hours, 3 minutes, and 12 seconds." I said effortlessly, looking up to see Carter's face twisted up in confusion.

"Wait… so you haven't seen him for over a year? That's odd… I talked to him about three months ago, and we met up in DC. But then he started getting chased by monsters, and while helping him I lost him in the battle and haven't seen him since. I assumed he went back home since he seemed excited to go back; guess I assumed wrong."

I looked at him in shock and disbelief. "So what you're saying is that you saw Percy about not even three months ago at a place only 4 hours by car from here? Why hasn't he contacted me… Is this Athena's doing…" I started mumbling to myself, then looked up at the sky. "HOLY HADES WHAT HAVE I DONE TO YOU? WHAT HAS HE? CAN'T YOU GIVE US A BREAK? HAVEN'T YOU MESSED OUR LIVES UP ENOUGH? I WANT HIM BACK. NOW." I yelled angrily, flailing my arms and stomping my foot.

Carter and Sadie looked at me in surprise, and once he snapped out of it, Carter whispered something in his sister's ear. She shook herself as though she was waking up and muttered something in that weird language again, and the last thing I heard was her whisper of "I'm sorry" before the dreams began.
