1986
The ambulence pulls up to the emergency enterence of Rampart Hospital, follwed closely by the squad and engine. Johnny had called them in unavailable until he could get ahold of Roy and Joanne.
Dylan follows the gurney on which Kel is lying.
"Treatment 2," Nurse Sharon Walters directs them. Then, "Treatment 5," when Ben comes in with Dixie. She follows them into treatment 5, wanting to be there for the woman who taught her more than all of her instructors combined.
Johnny and Marco enter, each holding a twin. Joe sees them as he's on his way to check on their parents.
"Take 'em to treatment 3, please, guys. I'll have Mike in there to check them out in a minute," he says, before entering treatment 2.
They follow his orders, and set the kids side by side on the treatment table.
"Okay, guys," Johnny says, "I'm gonna leave you two here with Uncle Marco and I'm going to call Uncle Roy."
"Okay," they reply in unison.
Johnny hurries out of the room and over to the nurses' station.
"Kelly, may I-" he can't finish his sentence before she answers.
"Of course. Whatever you need."
"Thanks." He leans on the counter as he dials the DeSotos' number.
"DeSoto residence," Chris' voice floats over the phone.
"Chris," Johnny says, trying to keep his voice calm, "is your mom or dad there?"
"Yeah," he replies, surprised to hear Johnny's voice. "Dad!" he yells, his shout muffled by his hand over the phone.
"Johnny?" Roy comes on the phone. "Is everything okay?"
Oh, Roy, Johnny thinks. If you only knew. His voice breaks as he replies. "No, Roy, it itsn't. How fast can you and Jo get to Rampart?"
Roy is taken aback, but he doesn't ask any questions. 'We're on our way," he says, and hangs up the phone.
"Jo!" he yells to his wife. She comes running.
"What? What happened?"
"I don't know," is all he can say. "That was Johnny on the phone. Something happened, but he didn't tell me what. We need to go to Rampart."

Mike follows the final gurney into treatment 4. Dixie takes a moment to gather herself and then joins Joe Early in treatment 2, with the 24-year-old victim.
"Where's my sister?" the girl asks Joe, beginning to panic.
"She's alright," Joe replies calmly. "She's being taken car of next door."
His tone and her expression send Dixie back to her memories.
1986
Ten minutes after hanging up the phone, Roy and Joanne pull up to the emergency entrance.
"What the-" Roy mutters to himself, seeing the engine and squad parked outside.
They hurry into the ER. Johnny is standing at the nurses' station.
"Johnny," Joanne touches his shoulder. He turns, a little startled.
"Jo," he says, breathlessly. "Roy."
"Junior," Roy greets him with the familiar nickname. "What the hell happened?"
"My station was called out to a MVA this morning," Johnny starts. "Five victims, one Code F. The other four victims are Dr. Brackett, Dixie, and the twins."
Roy and Joanne stare at him, speechless. He nods, knowing that it's a lot to take in.
"Are they okay?" Jo is the first to regain her voice.
"Abby and Andy are shaken, but they're okay. That's why I called you guys. I'm still on shift, and the twins will need someone to watch them. They're in treatment 3."
Without a word, Joanne turns and heads for the treatment room.
"Dixie and Kel?" Roy asks, his voice shaking.
"Both unconcious," Johnny replies, his voice husky. "Probable concussions, fractures. Dix has a cut on her arm that'll need stitches."
"How long ago did you bring them in?"
"About 30 minutes,"Johnny says. "Dr. Early is with Kel, and Dr. Morton is with Dix. I haven't heard anything since we brought them in."
