For the next few days they stayed in muggle London waiting for the train to come for school. The morning the Hogwarts express arrived at the station the group walked to the station at six. They got to the station long before any other students and, after saying goodbye to their fathers and uncles, the two boarded the train and found a compartment near the back in which to sit. They sat in silence, Scarlet holding Daemon in her lap and William stroking the raven he had received the same day. They were both dressed in dark colors, her black and him brown, with leather boots and jackets. It wasn't until shortly before the train was to leave that the silence was broken.

"Mind if I join you?" A tall boy with dark hair asked. "Everywhere else is full."

"Feel free," William said smiling. He put out his hand. "I'm William, this is Scarlet, and you are?"

"Neville, nice to meet you," He said shaking the offered hand and taking the seat beside William. "Are you guys new this year? I've never seen you before."

"Yes, this is the first year we've been allowed at Hogwarts," Scarlet answered not looking up from the small form in her lap.

"You have interesting accents, where are you from?" Neville asked, avoiding the clearly dangerous topic of why.

"Canada," William smiled. "This is our first time in Europe. We've seen most of the world but not yet Britain."

"Cool," Neville smiled as well.

"You seem decent enough," Scarlet said finally looking up. "But you do not smell as the rest of your classmates do."

"What do you mean?" Neville asked looking startled.

"You smell of wild Magyk, like that of the fey," she answered looking him up and down. "I like it," she said smiling suddenly.

"Really?" Neville asked, looking hopeful.

"I didn't notice it before but now that I'm looking for it you do have a slight scent, it is nice," William said smiling. "Of course you would have noticed right away Scar."

Scarlet smiled and moved the pup to the side before standing to kiss Neville on the cheek. "You seem like an honest and kind being and that, in today's world, is rare. It is nice to meet you Neville."

Neville blushed Crimson before muttering a thank-you and shifting in his seat.

"So... How is Daemon doing?" William asked, changing the subject.

"He seems to be feeling better, he's napping right now but seems to be in less pain," Scarlet answered smiling and returning to her seat.

"Who's Daemon?" Neville asked.

"This is Daemon," she answered placing a hand on the small bundle of fur in the seat beside her. As Neville watched the small wolf pup slowly opened its eyes, yawned and stretched before beginning to prance happily around the compartment, licking the faces of all inside.

"He's so cute," Neville laughed after the puppy licked his nose and cheek.

"He is isn't he," Scarlet answered smiling.

They chatted amicably until the train reached the school.

Surprising all Snape stood at the train station alongside Hagrid. Then it confused most further as Hagrid called out, "firs' years with me, res' of you new students with professor Snape 'ere."

"We'll see you at the castle then Neville," William said placing his hand on the boys shoulder.

"Yep, see you there," Neville smiled and walked off to join the others of his year in getting carriages pulled by what Scarlet recognised as thestrals.

After the rest of the students had made their way up to the castle Professor Snape addressed the remaining students."I want you all to be aware that though this is the first year that non-human magical beings are to be allowed into Hogwarts we are perfectly prepared for all your needs. Dietary concerns will be taken care of by house elves available any time of day and other concerns such as sleeping and classes will be taken care of by your individual heads of house. I will be your general correspondent should you have any issues not being taken care of or need any assistance. You will be sorted after the first years are all seated and food will be brought be house elf when the feast begins. Any questions before we join your classmates?"

All of the students looked to each other and shook their heads.

"Very well, let us go then," he said, leading the way on foot towards the castle.
