Chapter 3
A certain figure was seated in a beautiful canopy bed. He was hunched and clutching a small photo in his hands as they shook. His small stature was shaking with his sobs as tears fell from his eyes onto the picture.
Regret… regret… Oh how he regretted…
Even though his eyes were blurry with tears, although he was crying so much he could hardly breathe, he still fought to keep his eyes on a certain person in the picture.
For the millionth time ever since that day, how he wished he could go back and change what happened. How he wished he wasn't so weak… so helpless…
How he wished he hadn't swatted that hand away like he didn't care…
Oh how he wished…
But all Sawada Tsunayoshi could do in the end, was let out another heartbroken cry.
It had happened a month ago maybe or several weeks ago. A tragedy had occurred, scarring not only one but two people in the process. It was the day everything had changed.
It was two days before Yamamoto's birthday, and although the athlete had already told Tsuna that having the brunet for a day was a good enough gift, the young brown-haired teen still wanted to get Yamamoto something. To give him a small object he would carry around and help protect him.
Of course, Tsuna had thought of charms, and when you think of charms, you immediately thought of the Namimori shrine where all the most effective charms were.
But there was one problem…
"Hey Tsuna, where are you going?" Yamamoto asked as he ran after the brunet who froze.
"U-Uhm, nowhere important!" Tsuna fibbed as he looked away. The athlete raised an eyebrow.
"Oh really? Let me come with you then!" He stated but the brunet jumped and held up his hands.
"N-No! I-I mean I'll be going somewhere very boring-"
"I don't mind."
"-and embarrassing-"
"It's fine."
"-a-and the people there are v-very anti-baseball fans!" Tsuna said and this made Yamamoto quiet.
"Well, I'm sure they have their reason for hating baseball…" The other mumbled. "…but I'll come anyway!" The sportsman grinned and Tsuna sweat dropped.
"N-No, Yamamoto… I-It's fine. Besides don't you have baseball practice?" The brunet tried to convince the other.
"Hm, yeah… but I can always skip it." The other said as he placed his arms behind his head. For others, skipping practice was bad since it means you'll be day of training behind the rest… But Yamamoto was so good that even if he skipped a year of training he'd still be the best. But Tsuna took this opportunity to wiggle out of watchful amber eyes.
"E-Eh? But I don't like it when you slack off Yamamoto." Tsuna said in a nervous tone. When he saw amber eyes glint, he knew he got the other's attention, so he kept going. "I mean, I'm going to go see your next match after all and Yamamoto has to be in top condition since it's the Kantou-"
"I get it." And Tsuna flinched because he thought he got the normally cheerful idol mad or worse, Yamamoto figured out what he was about to do. But instead of anger, Yamamoto's face was scrunched up in determination. "I'll show Tsuna that I'm the best by training and winning the Kantou Regionals! And when I win, you'll call me by my first name okay Tsuna?"
Before the brunet could say anything, the athlete had already rushed off to the baseball field, waving. "Be careful Tsuna! If you're not home before me, I'll go and look for you!"
Tsuna waved back nervously as he watched the baseball idol's back grow smaller. When he was sure he was gone, the brunet sighed in relief. Adjusting the bag on his back, he hurriedly began to leave school, not knowing of a pair of eyes watching him.
Brown eyes looked over at the different charms in interest, seeing different colors and interesting designs on each one. So many omamoris to choose from. But of course, every omamori had their meanings.
Kōtsū-anzen, yaku-yoke, kaiun, gakugyō-jōju, shōbai-hanjō, en-musubi, anzan, and kanai-anzen omamoris, the brunet overlooked each one with great interest. The one he wanted was a charm for protection.
He picked up a kanai-anzen omamori and smiled happily.
Yes, this will do.
The brunet was too absorbed in his own thoughts that he failed to notice a pair of people approaching him. A flash of knife appeared as one of the two gave of a creepy laugh.
"Ushishishi… That's him isn't it?" The boy with blonde hair and crown (tiara) said to his hooded companion.
"Take him out and lure Yamamoto Takeshi in to a trap. We have to capture him and do research on him to see if he really is the completed experiment of Lab 80 headed by Yamamoto Midoriko." The one with the hood drawled lightly.
"I'll take him out with pleasure then." The one with the crown stated just as he let his knife sail through the air.
Yamamoto felt it as it was about to happen. Like how a cat's tail and fur stands when he feels something unnatural, like how a dog barks when he feels an oncoming catastrophe…
Yamamoto could feel it, that dark haze threatening to envelope something warm, something precious…
Tsuna!
He turned abruptly with no second thoughts, not minding that currently a ball was being throw at him at high speed. He swiftly dodged and ran out of the baseball field, ignoring the calls of concerned teammates, fans, and his coach.
He didn't have time to explain. In fact, he couldn't explain…
He just knew Tsuna was in danger. And he had to get to the other as soon as he could…
…before everything was too late.
It hurt.
It hurt a lot.
A scratch on the cheek wasn't supposed to hurt this much!
Unless…
"It's poisoned, ushishishi…" A freak dude with long bangs and a tiara, laughed as he licked his strangely expensive-looking knives. The brunet had surprised him by suddenly dodging the knife he threw but nonetheless, it worked out to his favor when he threw three more knives and managed to scratch him.
The poison on his knife was enough to subdue a wild elephant. But since the brunet only got a small dose of it, it wasn't lethal.
Yet.
Tsuna fell to the ground with a barely concealed whimper. He looked up, brown eyes dazed as his breathing began to pick up and sweat ran down his face.
"Don't worry so much." A voice beside him said and the brunet startled as he looked to the side and saw a hooded figure a few inches shorter than the creepy guy kneeling beside him. "You're not worth a lot of money anyway, so we won't probably kill you."
"Probably." The blonde one said in a singsong as he twirled a knife on his fingers. "But maybe the boss would let me carve you up once we're through with you." The young student shivered as he tried to edge away.
"What we actually want is your boyfriend or your brother or whatever to come and get you." The hooded figure continued to explain and he held out a piece of rope from under her cloak. "Saa, so be an obedient thing and let us tie you up already."
"Brother-slash-boyfriend?" The other one spoke up, "Ushishishi, how kinky."
Maybe it was the drug or the useless adrenaline coursing through his veins but Tsuna had a brief moment of insanity where he wanted to say He's not my boyfriend, but for some reason what came out instead was, "I- He's not my brother."
And really, if Tsuna wasn't facing a possible case of kidnapping he would've been really worried that these were his last words.
The hooded figure opened his mouth to say something but he was cut off when a sudden object passed by his right ear.
A loud cracking sound reverberated through the, thankfully and conveniently, empty clearing near the shrine. The brunet had his head turned enough to see that it was top half of the baseball bat colliding so strongly with a trunk of a tree that it broke into tiny pieces.
The two teens straightened into a defensive stance. The maniac grin on the blonde one's face had dropped into a scowl as they faced a new adversary not to be trifled with.
Tsuna had never been more surprised and more relieved to see Yamamoto Takeshi go up the stone steps of the Namimori shrine, holding in his hand the lower half of the broken bat.
"From that display of power and cunning timing, I'd say you're Yamamoto Takeshi." The hooded figure with the violet streaks down his face said warily.
"Ushishishi, so you've finally come to play." The other one spoke, the smile growing back on his face once he was over the initial shock.
Amber eyes narrowed and Tsuna didn't know if it was the drugs or the trick of the light but the eyes suddenly flashed blue as the athlete straightened up, expression scarily blank.
"I don't know you." Yamamoto said firmly and his eyes turned to Tsuna. It was proof of how much Tsuna knew Yamamoto that he could see the blank face of the baseball star soften ever so slightly in concern when their eyes met. The expression hardened immediately into an unreadable mask the brunet had never seen before. "But if you harm Tsuna in any way, I will be forced to eliminate you."
The cold voice and the underlying calm threat underneath made the three others stiffen. The brunet felt a cold shiver run down his spine as his eyes widened.
Eliminate.
"How scary," The blonde one said, sticking out his tongue as he licked his lips. "I'm sure the boss won't mind if we carve him up a bit, right? Put this humanoid experiment in its place?"
Tsuna could feel the edges of the charm dig in his palm as he balled his fists unintentionally. He didn't know if he was paralyzed by the poison or by the shock of what was happening, of what he was hearing.
Humanoid experiment?
"Humanoid Experiment number 08 of lab 80 under Yamamoto Midoriko, vessel known as Yamamoto Takeshi, we have come to collect you under the rightful jurisdiction of the rightful Vongola heir." The hooded one said as he extended his semi-gloved hands. A ring with an indigo gem gleamed, "Come quietly or risk the life of your mistaken charge."
Instead of confusion or anything at all that would negate whatever the shorter of the pair of lunatics said, Yamamoto took an offensive stance instead, mouth set into a firm line. "I refuse."
The hooded one seemed taken aback, "You are clearly malfunctioning." He insisted, "Do you not understand us? We have come to take you back so that you may protect your rightful charge-"
"This is taking too long." The blonde one said impatiently as he threw three more knives towards Yamamoto who deflected it with the broken piece of wood he had. The tiara-wearing guy smirked and Tsuna's mouth opened in warning as the knives did a complete 180 degrees, heading to hit the back of Yamamoto's head.
But the raven haired teen was too quick and he deflected just as easily by side stepping and swinging the bat, not hitting anything but dodging cleanly. Tsuna didn't understand but he saw the maniac smile drop from the blonde's face and hints of, what seemed to be, threads being cut off.
"Bel." The hooded one told off his companion, "If you carve him up, it will cost us money to get him fixed up for the boss-"
"Why does the boss need him anyway?" The one called Bel said with an ugly scowl. "You said it yourself, he's malfunctioned. He went ahead and tied himself with the wrong person," He inclined his head towards to Tsuna who was still paralyzed on the ground. "The boss will be happy that I'm getting rid of this trash for him."
Said trash's eyes glinted as Yamamoto leaned forward and charged swiftly towards the two. Said two barely exchanged another grunt before they were jumping backwards and with great reflexes, dodged the oncoming barrage from one middle school student with a half broken stick.
If Tsuna wasn't so terrified he'd be stunned.
"If you are smart you'd reconsider attacking us." The hooded one said in a still calm voice as he jumped back and the brunet wondered of he had strings attached to his back because no one could possibly jumped to a branch of a tree from the ground. "We have the antidote to the poison we got in that boy's system."
"I was not made so incapable that I would not know how to find the antidote to protect my charge." Came the steely reply. "You illegally secreted the substance poison YTTS 72 from the Vongola labs, a slow reacting poison capable of subduing even an elephant. If left unattended for a week, subject is likely to die." Yamamoto said calmly and the brunet suddenly felt too dizzy at the uncaring tone.
Flashes of a smiling Yamamoto, a younger Yamamoto caring for him when he was sick came into his mind.
He wanted to throw up.
Bel gritted his teeth before he grinned, "And if you do not surrender to us, that boy of yours will be left unattended. This poison has only ever been released in the black market and no hospital will have a cure. Ushishi, either way all I can see is you giving up eventually."
"Not necessarily." Yamamoto said with a sharp glare and before anyone knew what happened there came a barrage of attacks directed at the two unsuspecting teens.
Because of the poison muddling up his already confused brain, Tsuna fell to the ground unable to keep up with what was happening any longer. All he knew was that somehow the past fifteen years of his life had been nothing but a lie, that the Yamamoto he knew was somehow not even a person and that all those times he thought the idol cared for him, treasured him-
Tsuna's throat closed up and his eyes burned as his eyes grew heavy.
His last image was of a blank-faced, uncaring Yamamoto staring right at him.
Like every person who had fallen asleep or fallen unconscious after a traumatic event, when Tsuna woke up he couldn't remember what happened. But of course, since he didn't hit his head, the memories eventually came back to him. And like the cowardly person he is, he wished that whatever happened was just a dream.
It took a few minutes for him to notice, but when he moved his hand, he realized someone holding it. He only knew one person who did this whenever he was worried.
The brunet tried not to flinch as he turned his head and met the worried amber eyes of a certain Yamamoto Takeshi.
"Tsuna." A sigh of relief escaped and the other's shoulders slumped and normally the brunet would have felt guilty for causing so much worry but his mind kept flashing to those scenes he kept convincing himself where nothing but dreams. "I knew you were going to be okay but-"
The brunet shook his head and sat up, Yamamoto hovered and Tsuna pursed his lips as he asked the question he was dreading to hear the answer from "What happened?"
At those words, the athlete hesitated as he sat back down. His amber eyes were grave as he replied, "You know what happened."
Brown eyes widened and Tsuna cringed as he finally met the other's eyes. He looked at Yamamoto's face, the small little frown and the crease on his eyebrows he got when he was worried, the amber eyes shining with frustration and sadness-
-It had to be a lie.
But then the carefully blank and controlled face of his friend entered his mind and the brunet backed up instinctively.
The hurt on Yamamoto's face made his heart twinge.
"Tsuna-"
"You're- you're not human." His voice was shaking and he couldn't help the fear and alarm on his face. The athlete's hands balled into a fist before relaxing and he looked away. In the shadows of the room, he watched as the expressive emotions on the other's face melted away into an expressionless mask. A shiver ran down the younger one's spine.
"No, I am anything but." The tone was cold and devoid of emotion. Sharp amber eyes stared at him impassively.
Tsuna's eyes widened and he choked out a terrified, "Does- Does uncle know?"
"To protect her husband, Professor Midoriko Yamamoto's involvement with the Vongola was kept top secret." The older one answered clinically.
Tsuna swallowed, "You're not-"
"I am not their biological son. I am merely an experimental zygote unit UA no. 08 injected into a chosen host's body and nurtured until I was capable to live on my own." The robotic way he spoke was so different from the Yamamoto the brunet knew for most of his life. Once again he had that urge to puke because it was just so wrong. "Once ejected, said host will become disposable and die because of the process."
"That's-" Tsuna fell forward, body weak all of a sudden. "You're talking about your mom." And though the brunet could barely remember his own parents, he remembered warmth and love and-
The swordsman had stood up and crowded in Tsuna's space. The brunet flinched when he felt the warm hand on his shoulder. He didn't understand how it could still be so warm when such harsh and cold words came out of the other's mouth.
The whisper was soft but he was able to hear it. "It is not relevant."
And Tsuna snapped then and there. He wrenched out of Yamamoto's grasp and slapped his hand away, an uncharacteristically fierce expression on his face.
"You're not human!" Tsuna said and maybe it was the fear driving the words out of his trembling mouth. Yamamoto didn't even look stunned, he was just frozen in place, the hateful blank expression on his face. "You- I don't know you! You're not my best friend or my brother or-"
"Tsuna." And there was a vulnerable tone there that he just couldn't stand hearing.
"Don't call me that!" The brunet snapped but then he shivered in fright. "You can't just call me Tsuna and sound like-" He gestured frantically, "Stop pretending! Stop it! Get out! Get away from me!"
The brunet hadn't even noticed that Yamamoto had extended a hand towards him. He only saw it when it was being retracted and the athlete was straightening out of his stance.
"Yes." Was the clipped reply, "There are some people who'd like to speak to you outside. It's about the-" There was a resigned exhalation, "They're here to explain about me and about those people who attacked you. I'm giving you fair warning, they don't care if you're tired, they're coming in anyway."
But Tsuna didn't turn to him and continued to huddle away fearfully.
The raven teen's hands balled into fists but still with a controlled expression he turned to leave.
"Please come in." Tsuna heard Yamamoto say formally as the door opened. The brunet buried his face into his arms and sobbed.
He felt as though his whole life had just been a lie.
"Boss." Two ruffled figures clad in dark clothes kneeled in front of a scarred man. Bel and the dark-hooded teen, Mammon, bowed their heads with teeth gritted at the injuries they had acquired. "The humanoid unit is stronger than we thought."
A cruel smile made itself known on the scarred man's face. "As expected of the Vongola's strongest creation. That trash may be even worth my attention."
Bel scowled as Mammon said, "It's hopeless sir. The unit has malfunctioned and assigned itself to someone else."
At those words, the boss' face dropped into a scowl and everyone flinched, "What scumbag did it attach itself to? It's supposed to be protecting the rightful heir of Vongola. What's his name?"
"Sawada Tsunayoshi." Belphegor answered this time and the scarred man's face, paled.
"Ara," A man with sunglasses and a colorful hairstyle stepped forward. "Why does that name sound familiar?"
"Voi, isn't the Vongola's EA's last name Sawada?" The one with silver-hair said. The champagne glass on the man's hand cracked and broke to pieces. Everyone jumped. "Xanxus!"
"That fucking trash!" The boss, Xanxus, yelled as a hateful look took over his face. The scars seem to grow at the expression and many of the yakuza trembled in fear.
"B-Boss…" A man with umbrellas sticking out of his back and a strange moustache and pointy beard blinked in fear.
"Kill him! I want you to kill him right now!" Xanxus abruptly stood up and the silver-haired stepped forward.
"VOI! Don't be so unreasonable! There are a lot of people with the last name Sa-" But the he choked when Xanxus growled and spun around taking hold of his throat. "D-Don't be stupid boss." He continued to speak despite the pressure on his throat, "You know the Vongola are looking for us and-" But the grip on his neck tightened and he couldn't speak anymore.
"I. Don't. Care." The scarred man said as he faced his other subordinates and took out his gun. The yakuza around them let out exclamations of surprise. Some even had the courage to make a run for it. "Find him and kill him, or I will kill all of you."
The four figures blinked in astonishment and the one with the moustache said, "Of course, boss. Leave it to us."
At those words, the grip on the silver-haired one's throat was loosened until eventually he was let go. The man coughed and glared at the scarred boss. The boss returned the glare.
"Find him." Xanxus said as he turned to leave. "Find him and kill him."
"Sawada Tsunayoshi." A deep baritone voice made the brunet look up. His eyes were teary and squinted when he saw a man dressed in a suit with a yellow undershirt, curly sideburns, and a classic fedora on his spiky hair. He carried a suitcase with him like a businessman. "An honor to meet you, I am a representative of the Vongola family, Reborn."
"Che, he looks so pathetic Reborn-san. Are you sure he's the one?" The brunet startled at another voice and he turned in surprise to see a silver-haired teen, about his age, dressed in a suit with a scowl on his face.
"Respect, Hayato." The one named Reborn said coolly and the one called 'Hayato' abruptly kept his mouth shut. "I know it's not a good time but you really look like your mother, Sawada Nadeshiko."
This unexpected compliment caught the brunet's attention, "You know my mom?"
A smirk made itself known on the man's face as he pulled at his hat, "An honorable woman. Iemitsu was lucky to have her. But we're not here to take a trip down memory lane. May we sit?"
Tsuna flushed as he realized he forgot his manners and nodded hastily. Hayato chose to lean against the wall, arms crossed as he watched the brunet with narrowed green eyes.
"Tell me Tsunayoshi, what do you know of Vongola?" Reborn asked bluntly when he was finally seated, briefcase on his lap.
Vongola, that name kept coming up. The brunet had never heard of it until today. He swallowed against the dryness of his throat, "Nothing." And he winced when he felt the glare given to him by Hayato sharpen, "I just heard those two people tell Y-Ya-" Even saying the name hurts, "Yamamoto about it. Said something about Vongola heir…" He mumbled as he rubbed at his eyes.
"Yamamoto Takeshi's existence has something to do with Vongola. In fact, he was created under Vongola's influence." Reborn said and Tsuna's head snapped up.
"W-What?"
"Vongola is a very powerful mafia family known all over the world." He continued as though Tsuna didn't speak at all. "We hold several high class businesses all over the world but our main fort is in Sicily Italy. We are the number one exporters in weaponry and we also hold the most advanced medical technology in this century. No one messes with us, not the president of any country or the Queen of England. You could even go so far as to say that in the shadows, behind the political speeches and smiling faces of your presidents and vice presidents, it's the Vongola who controls the world."
The brunet didn't even know he was gapping as he blinked rapidly at the onslaught of information.
"But of course, like every successful mafia, a war for power is brewing in the heart of the family. The ninth boss, Timoteo Vongola, had recently been confined because of his sickness and the family has started divvying up in preparation for the tenth heir." Reborn stated.
"There are several candidates for the position of Tenth boss." Hayato spoke and Tsuna turned abruptly in surprise. "And of course, everyone had gone to support the side they think will win. It seemed like the usual family-friendly political war among mafia men. Unfortunately…"
"Yes, quite unfortunately, an unexpected element came back to play." The man in the suit smirked, "The Vongola Nono's son, who had been exiled for attempting to overthrow his father and killing many of their men, has comeback in vengeance to take back what was his. Him and his infamous group, Varia."
Tsuna squeaked in fear, eyes round with disbelief, "And what has this got to do with me?"
"Almost all of the heirs have either been killed or had gone mysteriously missing, Sawada-san," Hayato said in an impatient tone. "We did everything we could to find a way to win this war. Most of the Vongola do not want Xanxus to rule and we isolated ourselves to the underground labs and got to work on research. In the end we found the old research notes of Professor Yamamoto."
"Unit UA number 08 is said to be the strongest weapon Vongola has to protect the rightful heir of Vongola. It did not matter if the whole family died as long as the boss was alive there was always hope. But the experiment was shut down when the leading scientist died and no other information regarding the last humanoid unit came to light. There was only one heir left to the Vongola throne and in a desperate attempt to protect him, we came here to find and secure unit UA, the one you know as Yamamoto Takeshi." Reborn said calmly.
"But despite the added protection of Lal Mirch and Colonello of the EA Vongola, we have been informed this morning that our remaining heir has been killed." The silver-haired Italian scowled. "There were traitors in the midst of EA and they had been subtly poisoning the last heir."
"So…" Tsuna exhaled, processing the information slowly. His hands were shaking but this sudden story of a world he knew existed but never got a glimpse of, helped him focus his mind away from Yamamoto and what he was. "You've lost?"
Reborn's smirk widened. "That's what we thought too. Until we found you."
The brunet blinked. "What?" Okay, now they lost him.
Hayato made an impatient noise as Reborn went on patiently, "Number 08 was designed to protect the heir of Vongola at all costs. It ties itself to the life of his charge and becomes a deadly weapon to those who go against who it protects. It unfortunate when we came here and found out, it tied itself to you of all people."
The brunet frowned at the words, he knew there was an insult there somewhere.
"We thought it was a malfunction. Clearly without yearly maintenance it was foreseen that the unit would go haywire and attach itself to the nearest human being his age." The Vongola representative explained.
Unable to help himself, Tsuna swallowed and said in a small voice, "You- You thought?"
Reborn gave him an approving look, "Exactly, we thought. And we were mistaken."
The young teen crawled back, eyes wide in fear, "What are you trying to say?"
Gokudera straightened, "The Vongola was ruled by two people, one on the outside, one on the inside. The family could only be ruled by those who had Vongola blood in them. Sawada Iemitsu was no ordinary man. He was the ex-head of External Advisory team, second only to the Ninth, a direct descendant of the Vongola Primo."
"Sawada Tsunayoshi, son of Sawada Iemitsu and Nadeshiko," Reborn continued as he met Tsuna's frightened gaze head on, "The blood that runs in your veins is purer than that scum Xanxus', purer than even the ninth's. The humanoid unit number 08 is only further proof of who you really are. Now let me rephrase my introduction.
Obsidian eyes glittered as Gokudera bowed stiffly, "It's an honor to meet you, Vongola Decimo."
No, no, this couldn't be happening. This just couldn't be happening!
"Tsuna! Tsuna, wait!"
Everything was okay before, everything was fine Sure, he ha dno mom or dad but he had his uncle and Yamamoto and-
Why did his life turn up this way? Why?
"Tsuna!" A hand on his shoulder and the brunet's first instinct was to flung it off. He looked up and stared fearfully into the stunned face of one Yamamoto Takeshi.
A flash of hurt invaded the athlete's face before it schooled itself into a calculated frown. The brunet mentally shook his head. It wasn't capable of feeling emotions. Gokudera Hayato, the silver-haired mafia teen, had assured him that.
"It's not safe for you to be out. The enemy may have figured out your identity and are after you." Yamamoto said, eyes scrutinizing.
"They were after you in the first place!" The youngest Sawada said shaking his head. "Just- I don't want to see you right now Yamamoto. Leave me alone." He turned to leave.
"But Tsuna-"
"And don't call me Tsuna!" The brunet snapped and then flinched before running away, leaving a blank faced Yamamoto staring at his wake.
"Neh, Reborn-san." Gokudera said as he leaned by the windows staring at the scene that just unfolded between his new boss and the Vongola's strongest weapon.
"What is it Hayato?" The hitman inquired as he organized the papers in his suitcase and typed on his laptop. He was getting ready to make passports for Tsuna so that he could be brought back to Italy and trained properly as a boss.
"The UA unit, doesn't he seem strange to you?" The Italian inquired, green eyes narrowed at the shadowed look on Yamamoto's face.
"Alternating between 'it' and 'he' will get confusing, Hayato." Reborn said as Gokudera huffed, "But what makes you say that?"
"He- It's not acting like I expected or like the notes described. It should be single minded in protecting the tenth Vongola boss but-" Eyebrows furrowed. "He-" The Italian cursed, "It seems more- more human than I thought. If I didn't know-" Gokudera shook his head. "Maybe there was a malfunction after all?"
There was a few seconds of silence as Reborn put down his papers. "Who knows? These questions are better left to the experts, like Verde."
"But still," Gokudera finally turned his eyes away. "What do you think, Reborn-san?"
Reborn smirked as he placed his fingers together, "Me? I think that the heart is a person's greatest weakness. But…" Sharp black eyes turned to the window where Yamamoto had finally started to follow the brunet, "I think it can also be one's greatest strength. Robot or otherwise."
Author's note: Don't worry guys, this story is 8027 for a reason. There's a great plot twist in the future, you'll see.
So, I celebrated my birthday two days ago. This story is dedicated to my mom who passed away because of the cruel typhoon Haiyan. She didn't know about my story writings all she knew were the essays. For the woman who gave birth to me, I didn't want to celebrate my birthday without you.
I love you.
