Chapter two:
The group continues on their way and Light continues to try to ignore Misa no matter how much she whines or complains.
So in order to get her to shut up the team practically pushed Matsuda to her.
It seemed to have work so far as she is talking a lot less compared to before as Matsuda seems to be helping giving the others a sigh of relief.
Soon the group find themselves by an area with a patch of forest.
"What if the portal is in there?" Matsuda asks pointing to the forest.
"That would seem illogical." Halle shakes her head.
"And a mirror is logical?" Linda questions raising an eyebrow.
Meanwhile….
An evil chuckle comes from the one standing over a body. "Why this was fun." He says. "Too bad you won't be able to do it again."
Suddenly someone who is rushing towards him ends up skidding on the damp ground hitting his back.
The first person turns to look to the other with a glare that softens to a softer look. "What can I do for you?" He asks.
"There is something I believe you would find interesting." The second says.
The first raises an eyebrow. "Ok. Out with it." He says curious.
Elsewhere….
The group continue as they search through the forest only finding a single clearing but nothing so far so after a little looking they meet back in the clearing.
Light is the first to arrive so he stands in the middle of the clearing and as the others arrive seeming to arrive in groups having moved to one side or the other at some point in their search.
Then suddenly cages seem to jump out from the ground and trap the others like the cages are traps that were set out.
Light is the only one not caught. He is about to go help one of the groups now trapped in cages when there is the sound of a twig snapping. He turns to the direction it came from on the south direction which is where he had been kind of facing before the others came to the clearing to regroup. "Who's there?" He demands watching the forest for any signs of whoever stepped on the twig.
There is eerie silence and it makes the scene seem even more unsettling.
"So it is true." A voice says suddenly.
Everyone is surprised.
"That sounds like Light." Halle says.
"It is Light." Matsuda says.
"I didn't say those words." Light says slightly glancing to his right since that's where the cage that has the two that spoke in it while the rest in that cage as well as the other cage are silent.
"No. I did." The other Light voice says and everyone turns to the south direction.
Coming is walking towards them coming from the darkness of the forest.
Brutalight steps out of the forest and stops. He stands there facing Light with his arms crossed over his chest. "It would seem that my queen wasn't seeing imposters." He says.
"Your queen?" Gevanni questions. "So even in this world you have Misa or perhaps Takada."
Brutalight looks confused. "Who?" He then takes a moment to think. "Oh. You mean FollyAmane." He says then looks disgusted. "Ugh. I would never consort with the likes of her." He shakes his head. "As for Takada I have not even seen her here."
"Then how do you know her name?" Matsuda questions.
Brutalight looks up with fierce determination. "That does not matter." He says with a warning in his voice. "You think you can just waltz in here and take over then you are mistaken!"
"Oh. I didn't know you were here. King Brutalight." A male who had come from behind one of the cages says as the two not a part of the ones not from that world come out of hiding.
The two are buff looking males who are obviously the kind that won't scare easily.
"You are quite the idiots. I swear I am surrounded by them right now." Brutalight sighs slightly crossing his arms over his chest.
"I don't believe you should be speaking to people so rudely." Soichiro says directed towards Brutalight.
Brutalight lets out a breathy laugh. "You really are new here." He walks forward and his arms drop to his sides. "I can speak to anyone in any way I want to." He pauses just about to pass the two males. He turns to them with a glare.
The two males run off screaming like little girls.
Brutalight turns back to Light with a smirk. "I own this pathetic world." He states. "Surely you must understand. Aren't you the king of your world?" He tilts his head still smirking.
Light slightly clenches his fist as he sees a glint of something dangerous in Brutalight's eyes but he can't place it. "No. I am not. But no matter I am content with how I am." He says. "I don't need to be king."
Brutalight frowns. "Oh is that so?" He says. "Then you have not tasted real power."
"Actually I have had a taste of power but not the power you are talking about." Light corrects. "Don't you have the elements of harmony?"
"Oh those? We don't need them." Brutalight says with a roll of his eyes as he crosses his arms across his chest. "We have enough power on our own."
"Wait." Matsuda says. "If you're king and there is only the queen which we haven't met then what are the others to this world?"
Brutalight doesn't even glance to Matsuda but responds anyways. "True me and my queen have the most power here but there are certain others that fall right under us in control." He says. "Anyways. What are you doing here?"
"We got sucked here from our world." Light says. "We're just looking for a way home."
Brutalight blinks looking a little surprised then his face seems a little unreadable but he smiles. "Oh I see. We'll if you'd come here then I can give you the key. I don't know if I can trust your catching skills."
Light moves forward but tenses as Brutalight seems to be holding back a smirk. He suddenly steps on a certain place only to cause a cage to jolt up from the ground trapping him.
Brutalight smirks and closes his eyes as he tries to hold in his evil laughter but is kind of failing as it slightly bubbles past his lips.
Light glares at Brutalight. "What are you doing?!" He questions
Brutalight throws his head back letting out an evil laughter.
After a minute or so he stops with a deep breath to regain his breath.
He lowers his head back to its rightful angle. His face holds an evil expression, a smirk and a small glimmer of bloodlust. "Did you really think I'd let you go that easily?"
Light clenches his teeth as he can't believe he actually even tried to trust this character.
"Seems he more than likely plans to use us for something." L says.
Brutalight's expression changes to surprise and there doesn't seem to be even the glint of bloodlust as he turns to L who is in the cage to his left. He seems to focus on L and the whole time his expression doesn't show the least bit of bad emotion. He then shakes his head as if trying to get a thought out of his mind. He turns to Light again keeping his focus away from L with a determined face. "Now it has become clear." He says more to himself than anyone else.
"What is it you plan to use us for?" Light questions.
Brutalight's smirk returns along with his bloodlust and evil look. "Well you see I am also not from this world." He says. "Your arrival has shown that even though me and the others have given up hope of returning home there really is a way to go home." He explains.
Light and the others are surprised to hear this.
"So you're just trying to get home?" Mello tilts his head slightly.
Brutalight nods. "Well after all I am already the ruler here." He says with his head slightly tilted down as he closes his eyes with a nod. He then opens his eyes and raises his head to look to Light. "Wouldn't you agree that it would be even better if I was the ruler of not only this world but the world that used to be my home as well?" He seems to get an idea that makes his smirk turn to a more twisted or insane looking smirk. "Oh. And then I can take over your world while I'm at it." He chuckles. "It'll be something to behold." He then suddenly teleports off to somewhere but no one can see where.
