Underappreciated (Sonic Boom story)

Chapter 3

Red eyes starred at the pink hedgehog, who was struggling to grab a leaf that she could use to help stop the blood that was running out the small cut on her leg. Amy let out a gasp as she watched him look at her. They both jumped when evil chuckling caught up, "you think you can get away that easily….. oh hm who are you, her boyfriend perhaps?" The leader asked with a smirk.

The black and red hedgehog was not amused he glanced at the hedgehogs then back at Amy, "you fools, you dare gang up on a girl. I'll show no mercy if that's what this is?"

The leader faltered for a moment he could see how intimidating this hedgehog could be, "who are you?"

"hmph, if you must know, I'm Shadow, Shadow the Hedgehog," he said because he was angry he hates how they just ganged up on this girl.

He saw the leader aim for his weapon that was tucked in quills, he pulled an electric sword that sparked blue electricity. "Give us the girl, an we won't hurt ya," he said getting serious.

Shadow shrugged he could use a good fight things had been quiet, "you think you can best me," he said glancing back at the worried pink hedgehog, she winced at her cut. "better make it quick," he said as he swiftly pulled his back as the green hedgehog swung his sword his direction.

Shadow used his speed and quickly neutralized the three hedgehog "hmph, not much of a challenge, are you okay?" He asked keeping an eye on the hedgehogs as they scurried around, trying to pick up their leader.

"This is not over!" Yelled the orange one as he ran off.

The rosy hedgehog sighed in relief, "I… I'm…. Fine….. thanks for you're help," Amy was still wary of the hedgehog in front of her as she struggled too clean up her wound.

Shadow sighed in annoyance, "I know you don't trust me, but let me help." He said and he moved forward, and he used a fresh leaf to tie up her wound. Amy gasped as he'd done it so gently.

He smiled slightly at his work but stopped himself, he stood from bending down and nodded, he was not happy with what he was doing but he'd done it anyway and he felt drawn to her for some reason, he couldn't decide on why he helped he her, he growled slightly.

"Amy, why are out here?" He asked out of curiosity.

Amy gasped again, "how do you know my name?"

Shadow shrugged, "I learned it during our encounters."

"I see, well, if you want to know I was studying a temple and I run into those hedgehog's, hmph, can't believe they got out of prison." The pink hedgehog explained grabbing her bag.

"I see, well please don't run into them again, I don't want to have to save you again, please don't disturb my sleep either," Shadow said turning around and walking off from her, she raised her eyes in confusion.

"what do you mean by disturbing you're sleep, I did no such thing!" She exclaimed running up to him, she hadn't realised how close she was.

Shadow closed his eyes and opened again, "you did not know but you did disturb my sleep where you camped the other night, just be mindful of were you sleep next time."

Amy's eyes opened wide when he got close to her face, he realised it too and decided to skate off, Amy sighed, "that was strange, hmm, I'm grateful for your help though," she muttered and headed back to the temple she wasn't finished studying it yet.
