Niko realized he would miss his Digimon partner and all of the adventures they'd had together and with the team. He would never be as strong as Taiga and Digimaru, but at least Taiga didn't lord it over him. Niko was grateful for that.
Hell, he was grateful that he'd played a part in saving the Digital World, even if he hadn't been the hero. He was still a little jealous about that, but it would pass given time. Niko had just quashed the feeling during the final part of their mission.
He'd grown as a teen and Tamer.
