MCU/Doctor Strange fandom. Set during his solo film. May 12: Ever since your character(s) read that book, strange things have been happening. (200 Words)
Doctor Stephen Strange knew that the sacred texts there at Kamar-Taj were nothing to play around with and he always took great care when reading them. He'd been reading this volume for several nights now, using the time when he was asleep to astral project and continue his studies. It had worked out well for him so far and he didn't suspect it would be an issue. That was where he was wrong.
During his waking hours, everything seemed a little off. Colors flickered and inverted right before his eyes. People and objects warped around him. He checked and double checked that he wasn't in the mirror dimension, just to be certain. He briefly wondered if something was wrong with his vision.
On the fifth night, he finally reached the end of the book. There it was, fine print in on the very last page: "This book is meant to be read in one sitting. Alterations to the reader's perception of reality may otherwise occur."
"They really should put those warnings at the beginning," Doctor Strange muttered before closing the book.
