A/N: Had this chapter written up for a while but wasn't happy with it... still not quite happy. Still, at least I updated!
Chapter 2
Elizabeth hadn't been going after Rose when she ran from the room. She had been trying to find something she never thought she'd ever see again. As soon as she had stepped off the shuttle behind the Face of Boe, she'd felt it. Now she was trying to find it.
She walked along the corridor towards the private galleries, feeling it calling to her in her mind. She got to Private Gallery 15 and pushed open the door to see the TARDIS. She smiled, recognising it immediately. She stepped into the room closer to the box and reached out to touch the door.
"Hello." She whispered "It's nice to see you." The TARDIS hummed happily in response. Elizabeth clicked her fingers and the door opened, revealing the bigger-on-the-inside inside. She smiled and stepped in, looking around at the console. "Coral." she said nodding "I always liked this one." The old box hummed again, this time as if she was thanking Elizabeth, making her laugh lightly before the smile fell from her face. She walked around the console to the seat and flopped down on it, facing the rotor. "He doesn't recognise me." she said sadly "I mean, I have changed but… I thought that he'd remember my name." The TARDIS hummed sadly, then mischievously. Elizabeth laughed "No, there's no need to do that. I only came so I could see him again, I don't mind that he doesn't know who I am but, I doesn't mean I like it either."
Elizabeth sat in comfortable silence before the TARDIS activated the monitor, showing one of the blue members of staff speaking into some kind of walkie talkie before moving closer to the strange blue box. More staff came into the gallery as the steward's voice came through the speakers
"Would the owner of the blue box in private gallery 15 please report to the steward's office immediately. Guests are reminded that use of all teleportation devices is strictly forbidden under Peace Treaty 5.4/cup/16. Thank you."
Elizabeth clutched onto the railing at the side of the console room, keeping her balance as the staff lifted the TARDIS carrying it towards the steward's office.

The Doctor headed to the steward's office after hearing the announcement. He saw the staff dragging the TARDIS, completely oblivious to the woman inside
"Oi, now, careful with that. Park it properly. No scratches. There's something special in there." Or maybe not so oblivious. He frowned, wondering what was so special. He was broken out of his thoughts by one of the staff handing him a card before he walked away. The Doctor read it's message of 'Have a nice day'. He looked up at the staff's back with a look on his face of 'What the heck?' before turning around to find Rose.

He walked down a corridor, about to turn a corner before a voice stopped him.
"Doctor!" He turned, finding, oh, what was her name? Elizabeth! running towards him. She stopped in front of him "Hi. Sorry." She panted slightly "Do you think something weird's going on? Because I do. That's why I thought I'd find you, you seem like someone who could take control in a crisis." She babbled, knowing full well that the Doctor would be brilliant in crisis, as would she be, but he didn't recognise her, so she had to rely on the assumption that he would be. She didn't think anything was going on, but the Doctor was here, so something interesting was bound to happen.
Amused, the Doctor grinned at her "No I don't, not yet anyway, something's probably going on, always is with this type of event and… thanks I guess."He grinned He turned away from her, starting to head off. Elizabeth followed a few steps behind with a matching grin. The two turned the corner, trying to find Rose.

"Rose? Are you in there?" The Doctor called. He stood outside one of many doors on the viewing platform with Elizabeth at his side. There was no answer so he opened the door, sticking his head in. "Aye aye!" he said, entering the room after seeing Rose sat on the step. He held the door open for Elizabeth before sitting down next to Rose, Elizabeth taking a seat on her other side, next to the metal egg and the tree cutting.
"What do you think then?" The Doctor asked
Rose looked at him "Great!" She answered. She glanced down "Yeah… fine. Once you get past the slightly psychic paper." The Doctor laughed. Elizabeth looked up at him, frowning. "They're just so alien." Rose continued. The Doctor gave her a funny look "The aliens. Are so alien" She clarified "You look at 'em… and they're alien."
"Good thing he didn't take you to the Deep South." Elizabeth joked. The Doctor grinned at her over Rose's head
Rose looked at him with narrowed eyes "Where are you from?"
"All over the place" He answered, getting a far off look in his eyes
"They all speak English." Rose said
"No- you just hear English." The Doctor corrected "It's a gift of the TARDIS." He explained "Telepathic field, gets inside your brain- translates."
"It gets inside my brain?" Rose asked
"Well, in a good way." The Doctor defended.
"Your machine gets inside my head. It gets inside and it changes my mind, and you didn't think to ask?" Rose said coldly
"I didn't think about it like that." The Doctor said quietly. Elizabeth looked over at him before looking away again, feeling as though she was intruding on something that she had no right to see or hear.
"No!" Rose shouted "You were busy thinking up cheap ways to get a girl inside your box! Who are you then, Doctor? What are you called? What sort of alien are you?"
He looked away "I'm just the Doctor." he said
"From what planet?" Rose asked.
"Well, it's not as if you'll know where it is!" The Doctor said
"Where are you from?" She demanded.
"What does it matter?" The Doctor asked
"Tell me who you are!"
Elizabeth stood up and moved to stand in front of Rose, starting to feel something, almost protective, towards the Doctor, well, it was protective, she knew that, but he didn't. "That is who he is!" She shouted at Rose "Right here, right now, alright?" She turned away from Rose, walking down the steps.
The Doctor stared after her, confused as to why she was defending him. But, he saw what she was saying, he understood what she meant, and, he agreed. He suddenly got angry with Rose for making someone, who seemed like one of the nicest people he'd ever met, feel frustrated for no good reason. "All that counts is here and now, and this is me!" He shouted at Rose
"Yeah, and I'm here too because you brought me here, so just tell me!" Rose demanded, glaring at the back of Elizabeth's head, wondering why she was there. She was glaring so hard that she almost missed the Doctor standing up and moving down the steps, away from her, closer to Elizabeth.

Rose sat for a moment, thinking about the past few minutes, before she stood up, following the Doctor down the steps
"Alright." She sighed "As my mate Shareen says, don't argue with the designated driver."
The Doctor glanced over at Elizabeth, both of them grinning at the remark. Rose got her phone out of her pocket "Can't exactly call for a taxi… there's no signal. We're out of range. Just a bit!"
The Doctor turned to her "Tell you what…" He took the phone "With a little bit of jiggery pokery…" He slipped the back off the phone
"Is that a technical term, 'jiggery pokery'?" Rose asked.
Elizabeth laughed "Oh yeah." She nodded
The Doctor grinned at them "Yeah, I came first in jiggery pokery, what about you?"
"Nah, failed hullabaloo." Rose answered
"Ah, see, that was my favourite." Elizabeth joked. The three laughed.
"Oooh." The Doctor said, fitting a new battery before handing it back to Rose "There you go."
Rose took it uncertainly. He nodded encouragingly. Rose dialed a number and put the phone to her ear.

After a few minutes and a short conversation with her mum, Rose lowered the mobile from her ear, making Elizabeth and the Doctor look over at her from their fantastic conversation about astrophysics and cosmology.
The Doctor noticed Rose's stunned expression and smiled "Think that's amazing, you want to see the bill."
"That was five billion years ago." Rose said "So… she's dead now. Five billion years later, my mum's dead."
The Doctor frowned "Bundle of laughs you are." The ship shuddered
"That's not supposed to happen." Elizabeth said curiously. She looked to the Doctor and he had a similar look on his face, but, of course, he was excited as well.

The Doctor walked into the Manchester Suite with Elizabeth and Rose following behind after hearing an announcement
"Honoured guests may be reassured that gravity pockets may cause slight turbulence, thanking you."
"That wasn't a gravity pocket" the Doctor said to his companion "I know gravity pockets and they don't feel like that." He fiddled with the control panel next to the door as Jabe approached them "What do you think, Elizabeth, Jabe? Listened to the engines- they pitched up about 30 hertz, is that dodgy or what?" Elizabeth nodded but Jabe frowned sadly
"It's the sound of metal, it doesn't make any sense to me."
"Where's the engine room?" the Doctor asked Elizabeth, she shrugged
Jabe answered, thinking the question was directed at her "I don't know… but the maintenance duct is just behind our guest's suite, I could show you. And… your wife." She gestured to Rose.
"She's not my wife." the Doctor said, slightly disgusted, finding himself, for some unknown reason, glancing at Elizabeth, making sure she understood.
"Partner?" Jabe guessed
"No."
"Concubine?"
"Nope."
Jabe glanced at Rose "Prostitute…"
Elizabeth suppressed a laugh as Rose scoffed "Whatever I am, it must be invisible, do you mind?" She said "Tell you what, you two go and pollinate, I'm going to catch up with family. Quick word with Michael Jackson."
"Don't start a fight!" the Doctor warned. He offered his arms to Elizabeth and Jabe "I'm all yours."
Rose watched the three leave "And I want you home by midnight!" the Doctor grinned back at her.
