Chapter 3

"Good morning Yukicchi~" it was the first thing Yuki heard when she entered her class the first thing in the morning.

"Just ignore him. He will disappear immediately" Yuki chanted in her head.

"Since I win, you owe me a date! Where should we go?" Kise said with a big smile on his face. Yuki was definitely not impressed by the way the rest of the class was looking at them and she could hear another rumor started about hers and Kise's relationship.

"You just win by a sheer luck" Yuki decided to talk and she was hoping that Kise got the idea to not talking to her and stay away from her.

"I win because Yukicchi cheers for me!" and it seemed Kise didn't get the idea that she wanted him away from her. Yuki really wanted to bash his head because of his stupidity.

"Kise, I don't want to—is that the new product of Beary-Bear's brand?" Yuki was about to shooed Kise away when a bear keychain in Kise's hand got her attention. She was an avid fan of Bear and the Beary-Bear's product since she saw that product on her TV.

"Yes! Do you want this Yukicchi?" Kise said as he showed Yuki the little brown bear keychain he had in his hand. Yuki nodded happily as she took it from Kise's hand. all of the boys in his class look amazed and mesmerized by the way Yuki smiled and squealed happily as she viewed the bear.

"Thank you, Kise-kun" Yuki hugged Kise instantly and Kise froze in his place as he registered that Yuki is hugging him. and both of them didn't realized that the bell has rang and the teacher had entered the class.

"Kise-kun and Yuki-san. Please return to your seat. I don't want to see you showing too much PDA* in my class" they heard the teacher said to them. Yuki immediately let go of Kise and she saw the various look from her classmate. She felt like hiding inside a hole and never came out from that hole until the end of the world.

"Sensei, Yukicchi just congratulate me on winning my practice match against my old teammate" Kise answered with a big smile on his face. "You see, Kurokocchi is the phantom man from Teiko and—"

"Kise-kun, please return to your seat or you have to stay after school to clean the eraser"

"But Sensei, I have a modeling job this evening and it is for my photo-book" Kise complained. But it didn't seem to be a good idea as the teacher declared that Kise would stay after school to clean the eraser.

"What an idiot" Yuki mumbled as Kise wailed and protested to the teacher.

"Do you need help to clean the eraser, Kise-kun?" Yuki asked once the school was over. Kise is using his PE uniform as he brought a box full of chalk-dusted eraser.

"Don't worry about it Yukicchi. I could handle this just fiine~" Kise said as he started to hit the two erasers in his hand. But he hit it too close to his face. Yuki saw chalk was all over Kise's face as Kise cough from the dust.

"You should do it like this" Yuki said as she took out two white towels from her bag and she Rub the erasers against one of the white towel. "if will not cause any dust to fly and definitely the best way to clean a chalkboard erasers" Yuki told Kise as she gave him the other towel to him.

"Yukicchi, you are a genius!" Kise claimed at her.

"Even an idiot knew about this" Yuki mumbled. But Kise was too engrossed in cleaning the erasers to hear about her comment. She stopped to watch at how determined Kise was to clean the erasers.

"Kise-kun, I thought you have a modeling job this evening?" Yuki remembered he was telling the teacher about it.

"I have told my manager that I will not be coming today" Kise told Yuki. "I have a date with you after all"

"I don't want to go on a date with you" Yuki coldly said. She saw Kise cried comically as he said 'Yukicchi is mean' and it made her feel guilty. She has been the one who promised that she would go with him if he won the game. and by the way she watched how serious Kise was and the game was a very difficult game.

"just one trip wouldn't hurt" Yuki thought before she spoke:

"But I don't mind if we go to Maji Burger. I feel like buying a fries" as soon as those words escape from Yuki's mouth, Kise run and hug Yuki as he happily swing her around and forgetting about the erasers that Kise has knocked down because he swing Yuki around.

"In the end, we have to wash all the erasers because you knocked them all to the muddy ground" Yuki said as they enjoyed their food on Maji burger. And Yuki made sure Kise pay for all the food she ordered in Maji burger.

"Gomen Yukicchi" Kise said apologetically.

"What is it?" Yuki asked when she noticed Kise has been watching her while she was eating.

"Did you like basketball, Yukicchi?" Kise asked her. it was a very simple question, which either yes or no answer could have answered that question. But Yuki felt like Kise wasn't asking a question where a mere yes or no answer would be sufficient.

"do I like basketball? Yes" Yuki answered. she unwrapped the burger in her hand before she continued "I enjoy the game but I didn't like those who played the game"

Yuki started to eat the burger in her hand and Kise caught that as a sign that she didn't want to talk further about that issue. Kise choose to unwrapped and ate his own burger.

Kise and Yuki were too engrossed in their food that they didn't realize a certain blue haired male was standing in front of their table.

"Kise-kun" Yuki heard someone called Kise and as she looked up. She immediately choked on her fries when she realized Kuroko was standing there with a vanilla milkshake on his hand. "Can I sit here?"

"Where did he came from?" Yuki thought as she lightly hit her chest. it was a good thing that she didn't spit anything out from her mouth while she was choking.

"ah Kurokocchi" Kise didn't seem to be affected by the sudden appearance of the boy in their table. "Sure, you could sit here" Kise pat the chair next to him.

"Good evening Yuki-san" Kuroko greeted her.

"Good evening, Kuroko-san" Yuki greeted back with the same politeness.

"What are you doing in this area, Kise-kun?" Kuroko asked Kise. Kaijo is in Kanagawa while Seirin is in Tokyo and it is a long way for Kise to accidentally happen to be in Tokyo.

"Kise-kun wanted to talk to you, Kuroko-san" Yuki answered. She picked up her fries and left the two friends two talk about their problem. She watched from outside Maji restaurant to saw Kise and Kuroko chatted with each other. Kise was the one who do the talking while Kuroko just watched Kise talk. Yuki saw how Happy Kise has become after he saw his former teammate, even when Kuroko didn't say anything at all and kept listening to Kise.

Yuki hoped that by this, Kise wouldn't bother her. She was grateful that Kise helped her with the lack of interaction between her and her classmate. But Yuki didn't want Kise to lose his fame by being next to her.

"Yukicchi! Why did you leave me yesterday?" The annoying voice that came from Kise Ryouta greeted Yuki's morning ritual. Kise has come very early that day and he had been waiting in Yuki's seat.

"And good morning to you too, Kise-kun:" Yuki answered normally.

"Kurokocchi also left me when he got the call from his friend. Then I found out that you have left me too. " Kise was wailing. Then he stopped as he took something from his pocket. Yuki saw that and she realized it is a very beautiful snow phone strap. "And then I saw this at one of the store and this really remind me of you, Yukicchi"

Yuki knew that Kise's habit of sweet talking to other girl. but she could still feel her face heating up as she look at the phone strap in front of her. for years, people associate snow with her name and her attitude. But this is the first time someone associate her name without any malice attached to it.

"Then?" Yuki pretended that she didn't understand what Kise has meant. She saw Kise was a bit disappointed by her response.

"This is for you! "Kise said excitedly before the two of them heard someone was calling Kise. Yuki held the little phone strap in her hand. She didn't realized that a small smile has appeared in her lips

sorry for the short chapter

(I have a bit of identity crisis for this chapter. at first I wanted to make this pretty close into canon story. but i prefer to make Kise's own story... and this chapter happened)
