Author's Note: I was going to make the status quo story on it's own but I've decided to take part of each of the wildcat "heptet." (7) Yes I included Kelsi. This chapter will cover and spoil part of my other story with Ryan and Kelsi. Sorry that vows weren't made in this one but give me time soon to think of one for them. This is the 3 of 4 parter as well as the 9th of the 16 parter of my main 4 stories.

Chapter 3

Sharpay's Change After The Broken Status Quo/Sharpay & Peyton's Wedding

It was the evening as Sharpay and Peyton were flying on a plane to Albuquerque. They made plans to marry at the one place where Sharpay would have worked if she failed at getting the part in New York: the Lava Springs Country Club. She didn't think of having the wedding there as to humiliate her plan B career but she had planned it there for the fun times she had. Lava Springs was her home stage it was the inspiration of her dream. Despite the "fixed" Star Dazzle Awards and the charities she did there, it was something about the place that felt like she wanted to celebrate her wedding there. After all not only she felt like royalty there but besides East High, it was the most inspiring place she has ever lived in. Peyton's family was already informed about the engagement and the wedding and were making plans of giving the newlyweds a present, and Sharpay's family was informed as well. They knew that Sharpay and Peyton would fall in love. Years when Sharpay and Peyton were apart they saw Peyton win a couple of awards for having the best film shots in a motion picture and was able to tell Sharpay about it because in winning those awards as well as being in interviews he thanked Sharpay which he also recorded to show Sharpay how much he was on his mind. But she didn't need it not after giving him the ultimate test. Sharpay looked outside when it was nighttime and looked at the clouds. She was thinking of doing something once she landed and she already knew what.

The next morning they landed. Her pink car was ready to be driven since she had to leave that behind all those years. It felt great for Sharpay to finally drive her car again. Peyton also missed driving his car back at home when he told her that he had to leave Indiana for his semesters at NYU. And after a good hour, Sharpay was back home at Lava Springs once she parked her car, her servants and Mr. Fulton were there to greet her back and they got Boi from out of the car. After Sharpay introduced Peyton to her mom and dad they spent almost an entire day relaxing in the spa. Within the spa treatments, Sharpay had went into her old room and saw her old things like her Tiara and her play outfits, her Tiki dress, and all. But she saw on the counter her East High Senior Yearbook. She gave a smile as she picked it up and went to her bed lying on her stomach as she began to open the book and started seeing the photos of all her friends and fellow Wildcats.

I can't believe how these 4 years have passed. Sharpay thought to herself as she kept looking at the pages in which 25% of the pictures was with Sharpay and Ryan while another 25% was with Troy and Gabriella. The rest was a mix with Ryan and Kelsi, Chad and Taylor, Troy and Chad with some of the pics taken also with the entire basketball team, Gabriella and Taylor, with some pics taken with Kelsi, and the rest taken with Kelsi and Martha. Sharpay had looked back at the awards given out. Sharpay was the Queen of Theater as well as Best Dressed, with Ryan as the King of Theater. Ryan and Kelsi were voted as the Cutest Couple. Troy and Gabriella were voted as the Outstanding Couple as well as the Outstanding Individuals. Martha was Most Spirited, Kelsi had the Prettiest Eyes, Gabriella and Taylor and Troy and Chad had the Best Friends award. Sharpay smiled as she read everybody's signature even Gabriella's. She knew eventually, despite the fact that they began as enemies, if they weren't frienemies from the beginning, that they would end up as friends. She often wondered what would have happened if Status Quo wasn't broken. But before she could begin thinking, Peyton came in and saw Sharpay looking at her yearbook.

"Sharpay?"

Sharpay looked back and saw him before he joined her on her bed and had also saw her yearbook.

"Your high school friends?" Peyton asked.

"Yes actually. At first I'll admit they weren't, except for Troy."

"Who's Troy?"

Sharpay pointed at the picture of Troy in which he responded softly.

"Troy back then, was my high school crush. Before Junior year, he was just a basketball player for our school."

"What happened after Junior year?"

"Well before Junior year the entire school was divided under Status Quo. Everybody was gifted in the one thing they did best and I kind of liked how everyone stuck to it. Somehow during Christmas break of that year, Troy had met Gabriella." She said. Pointing to the picture of her and Troy. "They ended up singing a karaoke together and she transferred to our school. When she did, East High wasn't the same as Status Quo was quickly falling apart. Now I didn't want to admit it but I was willing to accept that I was manipulative because I wanted to keep things the way they were."

"Well Sharpay, did you ever think of what would have happened if Status Quo wasn't broken?"

"A lot. I mean I was gifted to act and perform on stage. I'm sure I told you about how passionate I was about performing."

"Of course but what did Troy and Gabriella had in Common?"

"They sing well?"

Peyton smiled as she answered him.

"Tell me the rest of what happened."

"One of my plans was to move our callbacks to the same time and day of Troy's championship game and Gabriella's scholastic decathlon and it almost worked until Troy and Gabriella's best friends, Chad and Taylor..." She pointed to them on the yearbook. "Found a way to stall their things so they could perform, in which ended up having them win the role of our spring musical and at that point, Status Quo finally broke. During that summer I was totally manipulative. If you were to see me then you wouldn't want to be with me after that ever. Because the summer I had Fulton hire Troy, which in turn he brought his friends including Gabriella."

"I'm sensing a Troy obsession here."

"Yeah, like I said I had a crush on him."

"Well did it ever occurred to you that at that time Troy and Gabriella were in love with each other?"

"No, not at the time. Because I thought they were being best friends but I had to find out about that the hard way."

"Meaning?"

"Once Troy found out what I did despite wanting to help him get into U of A in which he was so interested in going at the time, he wanted to stick with his friends and at that time I had a Midsummer Night Talent Show in which the winner was mostly me." Sharpay showed Peyton the Star Dazzle awards in which Peyton smiled before looking at her again Sharpay looked at him like she really didn't want to come clean of her biased show and awards but it was something she felt like coming clean on if he actually heard it from someone else. "Okay! So my show could be one sided. But I shared with Ryan all my awards and he won more than me!"

"Okay so you told me. But I will assume it gotten a little bit better in your senior year?"

"Yeah just a little bit. After finishing half of the school year coming back from spring break everyone was thinking about their future. But as it happens Troy and Gabriella were indeed in love as how it was in my sister-in-law's song: 'I Just Wanna Be With You.' Even if it was my last attempt to try and perform with Troy but at the time me along with Ryan, Kelsi, and Troy were competing for one scholarship to Juilliard."

"You really had it in with Gabriella did you?"

Sharpay gave a bit of a frown before looking at him again.

"Not completely, I mean I often wondered what did Troy see in Gabriella, I mean I knew him longer than her."

"Maybe Gabriella understood him better. Just how I understood you."

"Really?"

"Yes Sharpay. I didn't want to only know you, I want to understand you."

"Of course you did." Sharpay gave him a kiss before she continued. "But we were enemies turned rivals turned friends. In the end, Kelsi and Ryan made it to Juilliard, Troy went to Berkley, Gabriella to Stamford, Taylor to Yale while Me and Chad went to U of A during the year I stayed behind and help assist my teacher for a year. Because during my senior year an exchange student who pretendedly served as my assistant Tiara Gold, which I was impressed of her skills as an actress and a manipulatress, really got me. And at that point, I finally felt how Gabriella, Troy, and all my friends felt when I was like that. I didn't even realize I was treating them wrong. Besides me crushing on Troy I would have wanted to go to Juilliard."

Sharpay began to tear up as Peyton started to wipe her tears away.

"Remember what I said to a moment after you stepped in the studio?"

"How half of the performers came to New York with the same ambitions I did?"

"Yes. Your entire experience of being or trying to be in other people's shoes, roles where you were manipulative, and being empty handed on parts and things you wanted, had tested your limits of your skills as an actress. Back then you should have considered all that to be child's play."

"Of course. As I have learned with Amber Lee." Sharpay had begun to remember what she did for her as well as what Amber has done to her. "That's twice in my life I've been manipulated."

"But what happened to to your friends?"

"Sharpay turned to the page where her 8 known and fellow class of '08 along with her brother.

"Zeke Baylor, basketball player, but he went to college to follow being a five star chef. He was a huge fan of mine as well as my prom date. He also had a crush on me. His cookies and crème bruleé was the best I've ever tasted. I wish I could have gotten the recipe from him."

Sharpay then pointed to Jason Cross. In which Peyton recognized him.

"Wait, I've known him!"

"Jason? Jason Cross?"

"Yes, I saw him in a Hollywood premiere we filmed a movie together. He mentioned that he was married."

"Was it this woman?" Sharpay then pointed to Martha Cox.

"Yes. I mean wow! Your school must have had many high school couples still together after. Mine never have had that much."

"Sure. Well Jason was also a basketball player with Zeke, Chad, and Troy, and Martha Cox was always the high spirited one of us. She joined our cheerleader squad in our senior year. She's smart like Gabriella but also has a huge knack for dance. She loves her hip-hop. In fact she could have joined some of the New York dancers there with her dancing." She then pointed to Taylor. "Taylor McKessie was our class president, and activities coordinator, she graduated in Political Science where she had hoped to become our next President.

"Wow! Talk about aiming high."

"I know." She then moved to Chad. "Chad Danforth. A committed basketball player through and through." Sharpay Skipped Kelsi, and Ryan as Peyton already met as well as attended their wedding in Madison Square Garden. She soon got to the 2 extraordinary people and pointed to Gabriella first. "Gabriella Montez. She was, like Martha, a genius, had won the scholastic decathlon for our school, and a good singer to boot. She graduated and went for a law degree and she probably also went for one in performance arts."

"What makes you think that?"

"She along with Troy changed our school. She was not going to just quit doing what made her feel good besides after Troy sang in our winter musical he wanted to retire for at that time he considered it a one time thing, but he should have known he found something solid once he started singing. My teacher Ms. Darbus told me he was way comfortable on stage as well as on the court. But besides that, She knew it would be the other way around once they were in college." And finally she got to Troy Bolton. "And last but not least, Troy Bolton. Need I say more?"

"Just the intro."

"Intro?"

"Of what he done."

Sharpay only smiled as she told him.

"Basketball Player, back-to-back MVP, East High's Primo Boy, and a great singer."

Peyton smiled as he looked at the page of the 10 wildcats and back to Sharpay again.

"Out of the entire 10 people that you told me about, I've learned that only 5 were brave and smart enough to know what would happen if Status Quo wasn't broken."

"Who?"

"Zeke, Martha, Jason, Gabriella, and Troy. They all had backups. Something to fall back on if their main thing was not able to them anymore."

"Well some made their backups their main after Status Quo was broken."

"Sure that's what they had in common. While the rest, like us, we knew we would succeed in what we wanted. Status Quo's not only about everyone sticking to their main thing, it also keeps those from wanting to take a stand."

"Really?"

"I mean, had it not been for Troy and Gabriella, where would everyone be?"

"At their basic careers."

"And you?"

Sharpay was silent for a little bit because she didn't know what would happen herself but she soon spoke after a moment.

"I'm not sure. I mean had I not that being manipulated after school if Status Quo was still intact, I would have not made it out there. I would have been here w... W..."

"Sharpay." Peyton prevented Sharpay from saying the word work.

"Those two did more than change our school, by breaking Status Quo, they changed us."

"And how do you feel now?"

Sharpay looked right at him and very deep within eye contact.

"Like very great, amazing, I've achieved my dream while I'm still in my prime of living it, and I met someone I'm completely in love with." Sharpay looked at him seriously after she said that. " I mean, before, I was determined to go for my dream and I had to be mean to any and everyone who would prevent me from having my dream come true. But it's like you said; they were only testing my limits and skills as an actress when at the same time changed me. And they really changed me for keeps."

"So are you happy that Status Quo was broken?"

"Yes. Yes I am."

Sharpay and Peyton began to kiss passionately and soon they were making out for a while until they finished up their day of their spa.

2 weeks later it was the day of their wedding and Ryan and Kelsi were there to make it as well as the Sharpettes, already Peyton was at the stage where the talent show usually takes place the top step acted as the altar, Peyton was wearing a gold tuxedo, people told him that the shots he took while filming was golden as well as his hair, so he went with gold and he also had on a pink tie. After the broom boy and flower girl came out Sharpay and her dad finally appeared and Peyton looked at Sharpay with such awe. Her hair was just as golden and wavy as ever with a pink rose in her hair, she had on a pink wedding dress, with the dress being at knee length, with matching shoes in which she had a gold sash surrounding the hip and bits of gold glitter all over the bottom part of her dress. As Sharpay looked at Peyton she never would have thought she would marry let alone fall deeply in love with someone. But understanding how Peyton understood her, she found her golden king as well as him finding his pink queen. Once she got to Peyton they got to the alter and the wedding began. With vows finished they were heading for the next step.

"Peyton Leverett do you take Sharpay Evans to be your lawfully wedded wife from this day forward, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, for as long as you both shall live or until death do you part?"

"I do."

Sharpay smiled as she also shed a single tear.

"And Sharpay Evans do you take Peyton Leverett to be your lawfully wedded husband from this day forward, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, for as long as you both shall live or until death do you part?"

"I do."

Peyton smiled as he also shed a tear as well. After putting on the rings and making sure if anybody didn't have any objections the wedding minister was finishing up.

"Then by the power vested in me I now pronounce you Peyton and Sharpay, husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."

Peyton and Sharpay shared a kiss as the entire audience cheered for them. They turned to look at their new combined family and friends. At the reception everybody gave their speeches in which Ryan's was the most heartfelt. And soon enough it was time for the newlywed dance. In which Sharpay and Peyton took their place. As everyone watched Peyton and Sharpay looked deeply at each other.

"We make such the perfect golden pink married couple."

"Of course." They shared a quick but decent kiss. "I may not be royalty as you would want to marry."

"But you're golden. And to tell you, you're now my new gold."

"In what way?"

"To be kept close to. I always love to wear silver with pink or blue or yellow, but never would I wear gold except for my favorite pair of sandals."

"And is that a good thing?"

"I wore gold with my wedding dress for you Peyton Leverett, and I'm beginning to like gold more so of course it's a good thing."

"Of course, Sharpay."

"Well what's my full name?"

Peyton smiled for a bit before answering.

"Sharpay Evans Leverett."

"Why did you hesitate?"

"Because I wasn't sure if you wanted me to call you Sharpay Leverett. for all I know we didn't mention the last name thing and I just didn't know what how to mention the name you want to go by."

"Although I am your wife Peyton, I love how you pronounce my name. Sharpay Evans Leverett. It has a very nice ring to it."

"Thank you."

"Only for you and my family I'll be Mrs. Sharpay Leverett. To everybody else it's Sharpay Evans. Now call me your missus and dip me golden boy."

"Sure thing Mrs. Sharpay Leverett."

Peyton dipped Sharpay at the end of the song and kissed her passionately as the crowd cheered. After the father/daughter, mother/son-in-law, mother/son, and father-in-law (in Sharpay's perspective) dance, they all had cake, Ryan and Kelsi congratulated them and the newlyweds' parents presented them with their wedding gift. Two round trip tickets to anywhere around the world. Sharpay and Peyton were trying to choose where to go until they finally came to a decision.
