Hello, hello~! Thank you all for the reviews. I haven't had much ideas...or maybe I just have a hard time sorting out the plotlines...
Welp, once the story entered the second season, then I have not much to worry. But, I enjoyed this chapter even though I felt like it was a bit rush: Gaul's feelings towards Silver...
Hope you guys enjoy it!
CHP 3: A Date for Two
"Silver-chan!" a voice echoed in the corridor of the palace.
Silver was sweeping the floor down the stairs to Gaul's room at that time. The girl waited for the owner of the voice. Jaune and the other two of the Genoise popped theirs heads in front of her. She was a bit surprised but she hid it.
"It's been two weeks since you're here but haven't hang out with us yet!" Jaune complained.
Silver forced a smile, sweat dropping. She backed away from them until her back met the walls behind.
Vert was next to complain, "Yeah! Take a day off and play with us!"
Noir puffed her cheeks, muttering, "You don't like us, do you?"
"It's n-not like that…I'm j-just a maid here…" Silver stammered, looking away, "I d-don't think Violet-san would let me off that easily…"
The three stared at Silver. Their smirks caused Silver to panic even more. Jaune pulled her to follow them, leaving the broom there. They were soon in the Genoise's bedroom. The three started to search for something inside their cupboards and chests.
Confused, Silver asked, "What you girls looking for?"
"I found something that'll suit her!" Vert announced, taking out a blue dress.
Silver gawked. Noir and Jaune held the maid while Vert put it on her.
"I need you three to do a favour today," Leo said to the Genoise.
They were in Leo's bedroom, discussing matters about Silver. Violet was with them. She sighed at the Ruler's behaviour.
"What is it this time? Have you found out how to make her a perfect match for Gaul-sama?" Jaune asked, eager.
Leo chuckled and said, "Well…I want you turn her into something else."
"Leo-sama…you can't torture her like this…" Violet remarked.
"I'm not…she's a kid and all. I want her to have fun too," the Ruler of Galette explained, smirking.
She turned to the three knights in front of her and told them her new plan. The three as well as Violet listened with interest.
"All done!" Vert announced.
The three pushed Silver to look at herself in the mirror. Her jaw dropped as she looked at her reflection. She blinked a few times since she couldn't believe her eyes. Vert had made her wear the sleeves blue dress she found. The dress had a ribbon to be tied around the neck. Her hair was brought down, neatly combed by Noir. The black haired cat put on a flower hairpin on to hold off her bangs. Jaune forced the girl to put on pink lipstick.
After a few minutes, Silver burst, "W-What have you three d-done?! I-If Violet-san finds m-me like t-this, s-she'll… Wait, what if Leo-sama finds me like this?! Ahhh!"
She pulled at Vert who was smiling all the way. "Change me back!" she begged.
"Nope…we can't," Jaune interrupted.
Silver turned to the girl. She could see that Jaune was satisfied at the result. Silver looked really different. Noir, who was also smiling, took Silver's right hand. She pulled her to follow them to the town.
"Don't worry about your chores today. Just tell Violet that we forced you on this," Jaune said with a smile.
Silver sweat dropped. In a distance, they could see a restaurant by the dock. It was full of fishermen and pirates who didn't do their work much. She panicked when she was pushed into the restaurant.
"Stay here, okay?" Vert said, pulling a chair for Silver to sit.
"We'll be right back," Jaune said as Noir nodded.
Silver sat down, chewing on her lower lip. Her eyes rolled around, looking simultaneously around her. Most of the customers didn't bother about her. Since no one seemed to care, she was at ease.
"I wonder why they wanted me to go to our favourite restaurant today…" Gaul sighed, scratching the back of his head.
He stepped into the restaurant. The waitresses as well as the customers greeted him. He looked round for the Genoise but he couldn't find any of them. He sighed again. He walked around, just to make sure he didn't miss them in the crowd.
"Welcome, Gaul-sama. Your table is over there," a waitress greeted him.
"Huh? But, there's someone there," Gaul stated, confused.
The waitress smiled, pushing him to the table where a certain silver haired girl was sitting. Silver froze when Gul was right in front of her.
Panicking, she got up and stammered, "G-Good afternoon, Gaul-sama…"
"Huh? It's you!" Gaul pointed an accusing finger at her.
Silver forced a smile towards how he reacted. He could guess who set them up but for what reason.
"Who brought you here?" he asked, taking his seat without looking at her.
"Jaune, Noir and Vert…they said to wait for them here," Silver replied, looking down at her lap.
She was embarrassed to be seen by the Prince, adding the way she was dressed. She waited for him to say something. Instead, he called for a waitress to get the menu. Silver was given one too. She stared blankly at it.
Gaul glanced up at her before saying, "I'm positive they won't be coming back but since we're here, why don't we just eat something. I reckon you haven't cook anything yet for me, right?
She shook her head. "N-No…I was with the Genoise for a whole two hours. I wasn't able to prepare a-anything…" she stammered.
"I see…" was all he replied.
They both schemed through the menu to choose their lunch. Silver ordered a plate of fried rice and sautéed mushrooms. She was amazed at what Gaul ordered: a plate of fried rice, a plate of fried chicken, a plate of broiled prawns and a bowl of meatball soup. He ordered a jug of orange juice for both of them.
"Are you sure that's all you're eating?" he asked.
"U-Umm…yes. I h-have small appetite…" she muttered.
"Suits yourself," he said, grinning at his food.
Silver chuckled nervously as she watched him gobbled up his food. She ate slowly as usual. Once they were done with lunch, Gaul paid everything up. Silver felt guilty even though Gaul didn't mind.
Gaul grinned, satisfied. "I'm full!" he rubbed his stomach.
Silver gave out a small smile to him. They strolled back to the castle. Gaul felt odd when Silver stood quite a distance from him.
With his hands on his waist, he asked, "What's up?"
She shook her head and replied, "N-Nothing…it's just seems awkward w-walking side by side w-with G-Gaul-sama…"
"Hmm?" he raised his right eyebrow.
Suddenly, he told her to stand still at where she was. Confused, the girl did as told. Gaul made a quick shopping at a small souvenir shop. When he came back out, he handed Silver a turquoise ribbon.
"What's this for?" she asked, confused.
"Your uniform is dull and I don't like it. Put this around the neck when you wear your uniform. At least, there's some colour in it…" he explained densely.
Silver thanked him, blushing as she did.
In an alley not far from where they were standing were the Genoise, Leo, Rouge and Violet. They were all smiling, excluding Violet who sighed at their actions.
"It seems like the date worked," Leo said, satisfied.
"What's next, Leo-sama?" Jaune asked, excited.
"We'll just leave them at that. Gaul's just acting like a friend to her, nothing special…" Violet interrupted.
Noir puffed her cheeks, complaining, "You're boring, Violet-san…"
