"Starpaw. Do you promise to protect your clan and always put it first, even at the cost of your life?" Bramblestar asked. "Yes. I promise." Starpaw's voice rang through the camp.

"Then I give you your warrior name. From this day onward, you will be known as Stargazer!" Bramblestar yowled out the name and the rest of the cats joined in. "Stargazer! Flametooth! Foxsnout! Goosetrail!" The whole camp was a bit exhausted from yowling all the names that they only said each of them twice.

"You will sit vigil and guard camp tonight." Bramblestar told Stargazer. "I'm sure that Hollyleaf is very proud of you." He mumbled and padded to his den. Stargazer looked across the clearing at Hollyleaf. The old shecat had to retire the day of Stargazer's assesment. She hoped she was proud of her last apprentice.

Stargazer watched as the sun started to rise. Bramblestar poked his head out of his den and nodded to the new warriors, and they went to their den. "I made you a nest next to me." Mossdawn patted a nest next to him with his tail. Stargazer happily slumped into it. She felt as if she could sleep for a moon.

Stargazer felt a paw jab into her side. "Wake up!" Bubblepelt yowled and bit Stargazer on the tail. "OWW!" Stargazer growled and stomped out of the den. "Why'd you bite me!?" Stargazer grumbled. "You were asleep. ANYWHO! Berrynose is wating." Bubblepelt flicked her tail towards the deputy.

"Stargazer. You're on border patrol." Berrynose said. "Okay." She said and followed the rest of the patrol out of the camp.

Stargazer marked the border and went back to camp with the others. Mossdawn was waiting for her, with a rabbit between his paws. "Want to join me?" he asked, he didn't have to though. He knew she would eat with him.

She sat down with him and took a bite of squirrel. Mossdawn purred and ate some more as well.

"Hey Stargazer!" Foxsnout chirped happily, then he saw Mossdawn next to her. "Oh, hi Mossdawn." his enthusiasm was replaced by hostility. "Hi Foxsnout!." Mossdawn replied, unfazed.

Foxsnout walked away, tail lashing, anger coming off him in waves. "What happened to you two? You guys used to be best friends, now you're competing with each other for everything!" Stargazer looked worriedly at Mossdawn.

"Not everything." Mossdawn looked down at his paws "Just for you." he grumbled and got up and walked into the warriors' den.
