Nat eats her chocolates with an almost picky precision. Carefully selecting the piece she'll eat only after consulting the picture guide that did not come with the very expensive box. Surprises are not a thing that she cares for, and Clint knows better than to give her a box of chocolates with no indication of what they might actually be.
She picks them up one by one with the tips of her fingers. Using her manicured nails to dig in slightly to the dark shells of the things to prevent the candy from melting too much to her fingers before she pops them into her mouth. There's flavoring inside. Fairly good flavoring things -Clint knows this because he had to make that guide himself- but chocolates have never been his thing. So he's glad to see the pleased uptick her mouth takes.
It's approval and Clint now owes Tony for the recommendation. The box might have taken more of his paycheck than he likes but it was worth it.
Clint relaxes on the couch beside her and shakes the small cardboard box he'd found beside his head when he woke up this morning. A green, chalky heart rolls out into his hand and he holds it up to see the faint message chemically etched on it.
Be Mine.
He grins and pops the candy into his mouth before putting his arm back around Nat. "Already got a spider tattoo on my ass. I don't think I could be any more yours if I tried."
"Stop reading those things," Nat scolds with no heat at all as she burrows back into his chest. Fingers hovering between two different chocolates. "They're randomly picked."
Clint rattles out a yellow one next. Kiss Me. He bends to brush a kiss behind her ear, feeling her shiver slightly before she decides on which chocolate she wants. "So? Doesn't make them any less true."
Nat snorts but doesn't protest when the next heart repeats the message.
