AUTHORS NOTE:
Thanks so much for your kind DMs and reviews! I'm glad you like Hope ;) I think I'll base lots of my stories on her. I was thinking maybe a Crisis on Earth X type thing as I want interactions between Hope and Felicity, Hope and Iris, Hope and Sara... maybe I'll even bring Nora into the mix.. I really think Hope and Nora would go great together!
PLEASE SEND IN PROMPTS! I love hearing your ideas and I want to take your ideas and create a story of them for you, make your idea come to life!
This one shot was inspired by a prompt, VIA DM: HOPE HAS A NIGHTMARE AND KARA IS THERE TO CALM HER
I hope you enjoy and sorry it took so long to write... I've had writers block and it sucks.

"And you're sure that you're okay?" Kara asked Hope, they'd been out on an alien threat mission and Hope was beaten to near unconsciousness by one of the larger aliens. Her face was bruised and battered, but she insisted that nothing hurt, Kara was beyond worried. "You should get Alex to check you out. Maybe the sunlamps? Your vitals?!"
Hope rubbed the friction burn on her forehead.
"For the last time Kar, I'm fine! Seriously, you need to stop worrying so much… it stresses me out!" laughed Hope. "Honestly Kara, if I was hurt, I'd tell you… or you'd know!" she pulled Kara in to a hug, before grabbing on to her neck and jumping in to her arms, Kara pulled the teen on to her hip, her strong, toned arms supporting Hope, just like she did when Hope was much younger.
"You do my head in Hope! Seems like your incapable of coming back from missions unharmed!" Kara exclaimed as she brushed the hair out of Hope's face.
Hope, who was now a full fledged 14 year old girl, was perfectly content with being carried like a 5 year old toddler, the two sisters in their matching supersuits, and red capes laughed together in the DEO, observed by Winn, who was stifling laughs and joining in.
"Come on, let's hit the couch, I'm so done with fat aliens today." Chuckled Kara. "Want a ride Hope?"
Hope jumped on to Kara's back and gripped on to her neck, as Kara took off in to the nights sky, towards their loft. The velvety black twilight contrasted starkly against the silver stars, which were vivid and bright. Cool air blew past the sisters as they soared through the night at double speed, Hope contributing with her own powers to speed them up. Hundreds of cars flooded the streets, piping out toxic exhaust, their red and amber lights polluting the city, yet flashing life in to it. Horns, angry business men, merchants, sirens, alarms - all sounds that jumbled into one loud buzz throughout National City, even at night... especially at night. The large skyscrapers towered above the rest of the city, even above the two superheros soaring above the bustling city, each one still alight, workers, tired out CEOs, computers crammed with code and documents that will continue to work late into the night and early into the morning. Neon bright lights poured out of firedoors, guarded by buff men in black suits as hundreds of clubbers danced their way in, already past the threshold of sober.
National City came alive at night time... yet there was still only one thing on Hope's mind..
"Can we get takeout!?" yelled Hope, her voice barely audible to the human ear. Kara looked into her eyes with a disapproving glare, this would be the fourth night of takeaway food in a row… "I don't want some manky pasta bake… pleasseeeeeee Kara? Pleaseee!" Hope batted her puppy eyes and pouted like a toddler.
"Ok fine fine!" Kara gave in, exhausted. "But we are ordering in because I cannot deal with a long queue after today."

The girls sat on the sofa, empty potsticker boxes and fried rice at hand, Hope in Kara's arms as per usual, watching Dr Who.
"Wait… so what happens if Rory lets the other Amy in the TARDIS… I'm confused." pondered Hope.
"It creates a temporal time paradox too big to contain… Older Amy is the same as younger Amy. In the facility, there are many different Amy's each a different age, so letting in two of the same person from different time streams would inevitably end badly..get it?" replied Kara, a Dr Who nerd. "You know... the usual."
"Uhhmmm… wait.. what?" Hope laughed as Kara babbled on. "I have no idea what you just said. There's only one Amy right? But theres two here!" Hope stuffed a large spoon of fried rice into her mouth.
"You should know this! Call yourself a fan… just watch and eat the rest of the food… but if you touch the potstickers... if you dare eat one more… I will melt your face off Hope Zor-El." Deadpanned Kara.
"I would melt yours first Kara Zor-El." giggled Hope as she stuffed two potstickers into her mouth.
"Right that's it!" laughed Kara.
Kara subsequently attacked Hope with a tickle attack, Hope burst in to fits of laughter.
"I love you Kar."
"You too kiddo, you too."
As the program droned on, about galaxies, aliens, time travel... nothing interested... they'd been there, done that, Hope's eyes began to close in front of the overly bright screen and only a few minutes later, she was sound asleep.
Kara turned off the TV, tired herself, and looked down at her baby sister… mini Kara. She brushed the loose hair out of Hope's face and cradle carried Hope to her room, before tucking her in and kissing her on the head.
...
The rain thumped heavily down on the tarmac, gridlocked traffic and burning piles of debris crowded the scene. Pedestrians screaming, fleeing the scene, ambulance sirens blaring, yelling, and blood... lot's of blood, too much. It tinged the rain water red, elegantly infusing with the wet ground, symbolising the very opposite of elegance and life. Hope's limbs felt heavy, wounds all over her body burned like fire, she could feel the stomach churning presence of Kryptonite around her as she lay, weak on the floor.
Through blurred vision, Hope watched Kara fight off an army of COL. She was strong, but they were stronger. Screams filled the air, it took Hope a while to realise that they were her own screams… and Kara's. Forcing her eyes to stay open, as blood oozed from somewhere on Hope's body.
"KARA! KARA!" Hope coughed and blood splattered to the ground as she wheezed and gasped. Copper tears streamed down her face as blood pooled around her.
"HOPE! Oh.. rao...Hope. No... look at me... stay with me.. baby, look at me Hope."
Hope watched Kara be forced to her knees, swaying, as Kryptonite weakened her older sister, trying to fight, but getting punched, bruised and beaten down to the floor, her eyes tired and empty. Her head contacted the floor, and when she recovered up, blood trickled from a graze on her temple... this wasn't good.
As Hope tried to get up and reach her sister, a sharp pain in her abdomen pulled a whimper, then a scream from her raw throat - causing Kara to look in her direction, pain in her eyes.
"Hope… HOPE! HOPE! GET OFF ME."
Kara struggled in their grasp, the agents holding her tighter by the arms. Her cheeks flushing red as as blood stains and cold rain water cooled them. The flood beneath Hope turned a dark crimson colour as blood poured from the stab wound in her stomach.
The sisters scrambled, fought and kicked to get to each other, distraught, delirious and both in agony.
Hope saw a kryptonite blade being raised behind Kara and as the agent drove in into Kara's back, Hope screamed.
"KARA! NO!" she was crying hysterically. "KARA! Kara please! NO!"
"Hope? Hope, baby wake up." a faint voice said, she felt someones hand cupped against her cheek.. Kara... but..
Hope lurched up in bed, disorientated and frightened as her room shifted into focus. She felt a strong grip holding her arm as she sat dazed and confused at what had just occured. Hope felt wetness in her eyes, and she was tainted with sweat, she was violently shaking without realising. The bedside light was on, and Hope could see her bedsheet cast on to the floor from her feverish dream.
"Hope, shh it's okay, I'm here, I'm here." Kara said softly.
She looked round, panting, to see Kara's worried face crouched by the side of her bed, immediately Hope fell into Kara's arms and hugged her tightly, before breaking in to sobs again.
"Shhhhh, shhhh, it's okay, it was just a dream, you were dreaming."
"Kara…I…you…it was so horrible….I thought I'd lost..you." hiccuped Hope. Kara released Hope from the hug, searching her face, and she sat up in bed, Kara stroked her face and gripped her hand.
"I'm right here, and I'm not going anywhere… ever, okay?"
"Yeah, okay."
"Come on, come sit on the couch with me."
Kara picked Hope up in her strong arms, as the girl whimpered in her grasp, still drenched in sweat and tear stained. They sat down on the sofa, and straight away Hope scrambled up into Kara's arms, sniffling softly into Kara's t-shirt as Kara stroked her hair.
"You want to talk about it?" asked Kara, as Hope lay curled up in Kara's arms. She could feel the pain that Hope felt, see it in her blue glassy eyes. Hope trembled in Kara's arms, and Kara rested her head on top if Hope's tiredly.
"It was...I... the Children of..L..Liberty, and you...theyy were... fighting you and... the blood.. there was so much bloodd. The street was.. filled with.. fire and..and everyone was screaming and.. ye..yelling. They were beating you...and...and cutting you, you... I could..see the pain in your eyes, it broke ...broke my heart and then...they...they got a blade and...stabbed you in the back...I... I thought it was... real...I thought... that... that. And... I saw all this...pppain and fear..f..from everyone and...I...was bleeding and... you to come ..to me..bb..but you.. couldn't and.. all...I wanted...was..was you to.. hug me...and hhold ...me.. again and I w..wanted to... help you...but..." gasped Hope, tears streaming down her face again.
"Shhh Hope, breathe baby, breathe. I've got you now, see? You're okay now, I'm here, I'm okay, nothings gonna happen, I promise, okay?" Kara calmed Hope as she lay sniffling with Kara on the leather couch. "I know it seemed real, I know how scary it is, but I'll always be here for you, okay? I'll be here for as long as you need me. You can always come get me, anytime."
"Thanks Kar." Hope said, her breathing now under control as Kara stroked her hair and rocked her gently. Her eyes felt sore and red raw, her limbs felt heavy and tired, but the fear of closing her eyes forced her to stay awake... the horrors of her dreams would be enough to stop her from sleeping again, even in the safety of Kara's arms.
"Do you want to try and sleep?" asked Kara gently, Hope immediatley shook her head rapidly, she couldn't close her eyes... no way, she could feel the tears burning in her eyes again. Kara was quick to notice this. "Okay, okay." she thought for a minute.
"What about if you come into my room, I'll stay with you?" coaxed Kara, Hope needed to sleep. Tired and tear stained, Hope mumbled something of a yes before standing up onto her shaky legs, supported by Kara and into her sisters room.
The warm scent of Kara's perfume tinged the air, proving a safety blanket for Hope to rely on, dirtied clothes lay sparsely populated across the glazed wooden floor and her bed lay untouched on one side. The twilight city was visable through Kara's large windows as orange could be seen emerging on the polluted horizon. The dark circles under Kara's eyes could be seen vividly in this lighting, exhaustion was evident, both the superheros needed rest.
"Do you want to change, Hope?" Kara asked gently, her Pjs covered in salt tainted tears and sweat. Kara dug out one of her large logo Tshirts and took it over to Hope, who was sitting on the edge of Kara's bed, staring blanking into dark space with emotionless eyes. Kara sat down next to her, and took her into her arms warmly, Hope rested her head against Kara's chest, listening to her heartbeat, tears fell onto Kara's tshirt as Hope cried silently once again.
"I know...I know.." Kara breathed softly, as she ran her fingers through Hope's, long, thick, blonde hair. "I know how real it all feels, but I'm here now, and I won't let anything happen to you." she picked up the tshirt. "Want me to help you?"
Kara dressed Hope in one of her tshirts... she looked exactly like Mini Kara, with her hair flopped over the opposite side of her head.
Hope looked at Kara tenderly with a mix of admiration and pain in her eyes... the deep love for her big sister was enough to shatter her heart at the sight of harm. Noticing this, Kara met her eyes, and smiled at her kindly before kissing her on the head.
The two girls climbed into the soft bed linen, and rested their aching heads on the feathery pillows. Hope curled up in Kara's arms, lying the opposite way to her sister and nuzzled her head into Kara's chest and Kara wrapped her in her arms.
"K..Kara?" Hope mumbled sleepily.
"Yeah Hope?"
"T..thank you." Hope sighed, on the verge of sleep."
"No need to thank me, baby, I love you, so much." Kara whispered as Hope fell sound asleep in Kara's arms. As Kara looked down in the dark at her soundly sleeping sister, sadness overcame her. The pain that Hope would go through, all because she closed her eyes, hurt Kara. For the first time, Kara wept gently, her salty tears landing gently on Hope's head, at the sight of her sleeping sister, whose face was still plastered with worry and cold hard fear.
She settled into her pillow... and soon, she too was sound asleep.
