Okay, this was inspired by the movie, Corpse Bride, by Tim Burton, and I am obsessed with Tim Burton for a lot of reasons. This is the scene that I was mostly inspired by, the piano duet with Victor and Emily. But it's Dipper and Stan instead. Idk why, but I just thought this would be a really good idea. Also, I made a headcanon that Dipper probably doesn't just play the trumpet, but a bunch of other instruments as well. So, yeah. I didn't have headcanon for Stanley playing an instrument, but Ifor this cute one-shot, he could. So yeah, enjoy!

Stan told the kid not to go out at night and monster hunt. Dipper did it anyway, and now Stan punished him taking the journal away and telling him he isn't allowed to go outside for a whole week. Dipper was mad, bored out of his mind the next three days, and hated being stuck inside the Shack the whole week. Stan felt bad, but he knew he did the right thing. The kid didn't even talk to him. Stan had to set things right with him to tell him it was for his safety that a twelve-year-old like him shouldn't sneak out at night and go into the woods. It was far too dangerous. And if Dipper got hurt on Stan's watch, it would be all his fault for not taking good care enough of the kids.

Stan went looking for the about five minutes until he spotted him in the hallway of the museum playing on that old grand he bought and told the tourists that it was haunted.

Dipper was playing it in a disheartening way, and it hurt to see the kid upset even being punished. Stan approached awkwardly to the boy pressing the dull keys.

"Hey, kiddo, I didn't know you played, maybe sometime you can play it for the tourists coming and going and I pay ya," Stan smirked. Dipper glared up at Stan and back down at the piano proceeding to play in a heartbreaking way. Stan frowned.

Didn't expect that...

Stan trudged over onto the piano bench scooting Dipper over. Dipper, of course, didn't pay any attention to the old man sitting next to him. He listened to the tune the boy was playing on the lower part. Stan copied it playing it on the higher part. Dipper looked up at the man with a scrunched look on his face. He rolled his eyes and continued to play. Dipper stopped playing as he heard the higher part of the piano in a more happy, exciting tune. He looked at Stan grinning. Stan paused hoping to get a response from the boy. He wanted to have a little battle with him on the old grand. Dipper looked away still ignoring his uncle.

Stan played the tune overtaking the boy's attention. Dipper set his fingers onto the keys again rolling the white keys. Stan smirked as they both rapidly played a beautiful tune. Dipper looked up at Stan and smirked at the old man. Stan smirked back. Dipper's became a devilish smirk as he rolled his fingers all the way up to the higher keys causing Stan to stop his playing. Dippers two little fingers rapidly played the 'c' and 'd' keys repeatedly until they slowed down and stopped. Dipper looked up at Stan and sheepishly grinned. "Sorry," he said in almost a whisper. Stan chuckled, "Hey, it's alright, I thought that was kind of cool."

"Are we cool?" Dipper gestured a fist pump to him.

Stan grinned. "Yeah," he fist bumped him back. "We're cool."
