'Get your hands off me!' Zelda yelled as she was dragged through the winding corridors of the Yiga hideout. Her captors had a firm grip on her that only relented when they approached a small room with wooden bars making up the door. 'I said to let me go!' she screamed once more before being shoved inside the cell. She fell roughly onto the hard floor, hearing their mocking laughter shortly after. 'Your wish is my command, princess,' One of them sneered before they broke into laughter once more, leaving her as they continued deeper into the hideout. She watched them leave, her eyes full of worry as well as her heartbeat quickening. Everything had happened so fast she barely had time to comprehend what was happening to her until now.

'Focus, you can't let your uneasiness get the better or you!' Zelda whispered to herself, though she knew to simply call how she felt 'uneasy' was an understatement, 'Calm down and think!'

Zelda got to her feet and paced her cell as she tried to look at the situation logically. Viewing the situation from a more intelligent angle would be a sure step in calming herself down and once she achieved that then she could begin to think of how to escape. Thousands of different questions crossed her mind first: Where was she? Would anyone ever find her? Why didn't they kill her? What happened to the guards that had accompanied her to the Gerudo Desert?

She stopped in her tracks and clenched her firsts. That was the easiest question to answer; they were most likely dead. They died protecting her and she was absolutely useless to everyone. It would only be a matter of time before the Yiga clan realized that and killed her too. Though she wanted to cry she wouldn't shed a single tear when she didn't deserve even her own self pity. She had to focus on finding a way out of this place… somehow. Zelda glanced up and noticed that her cell now had a guard. She was a bit surprised they had came so quietly but it only meant that making an escape would be all the more trickier. They were tilting their head to the side, looking at her with what seemed like a blank expression, given their face was hidden by their mask.

'Why are you looking at me?!' Zelda demanded, 'Am I funny to you?'

They jumped and quickly looked away, mumbling something unintelligible before resuming his rigid stance staring ahead into space. 'Pardon?' Zelda asked with a slight edge to her voice. The guard stayed absolutely still, seemingly ignoring her until they quietly repeated, 'Sorry.'

Zelda was surprised, to say the least. Why would they apologize to her? Didn't they hate her? Regardless she suddenly felt embarrassed for how she acted, having lashed out at them when they hadn't even done anything to her, other than being associated with the people who captured her that is. 'I should be the one apologizing,' she began, trying to find the right words to use to mask how awkward she felt speaking to them, 'I acted childishly and you didn't need to see my… inappropriate behaviour.'

Zelda waited for a response from the guard but as the seconds turned into minutes she grew increasingly impatient. 'Aren't you going to say anything?' she asked. When met with a long stretch of silence again she said, 'You aren't a person of many words, are you?' The guard shook their head and continued to look ahead, earning a ghost of a smile from Zelda unbeknownst to them.

'Well if you aren't going to speak to me could you tell me something?' she asked. Without waiting for a reply that was unlikely to come she continued, 'What does your clan intend to do with me?' When met with the all too familiar quietness from them she prompted again, 'Please answer me, I need to know.'

Nothing.

She crossed her arms, 'Well you won't answer that question how about a simpler one: What's your name? No, never mind I know the answer to that. Silence. That's all you can say because it requires no effort. I know you're not a mute so why won't you talk to me? Don't bother answering that, I know what you're going to say or rather, what you're not going to say.' Zelda hoped she could provoke some sort of response out of him but he remained steadfast in not speaking to her.

She let out a defeated sigh, 'Fine then, I'm just going to call you Silence if you won't speak to me.' Before she could say more two yiga foot soldiers came up the stairs next to her cell and gave her a cold look before speaking to her guard.

'We're taking her to interrogation,' one spoke with a shrill voice. 'Master Kohga's orders,' the other explained. The guard, now known as Silence, nodded and revealed a key they had attached to his belt. They unlocked the cell door and took a step back before the two walked into the small room and grab Zelda, dragging her away deeper into the hideout.

After some time had passed Zelda was pushed once more into her cell by the foot soldiers, hearing the door slam shut behind her. 'I'm perfectly capable of walking on my own without you shoving me around!' She yelled at them. 'That's good to hear,' the one with the shrill voice replied. 'We don't care though,' the other added. They looked at the guard as if they were ensuring they were prepared to do their job before walking down the stone hallway across from them, leaving Zelda alone once more, or at least as alone she could be.

She crouched and dusted off a part of the floor before sitting down, deep in thought. The questioning had been stressful, but she did a thing or two while they learned nothing. For one, they seemed to be under the impression the hero of legend was lurking about somewhere and wanted her to give their location. She was just as clueless as they were but Zelda had somehow managed to skirt around that fact, convincing them they would simply have to pressure her more to get the information they desired. However the longer she remained here the sooner the clan would realize there was no legendary hero to speak of. They would decide there was no point in keeping her captive and- She didn't want to think about that. Until she could devise a plan to escape perhaps Zelda could lie and slowly tell them what they wanted to hear to give her time.

It lead her to wonder why they were so worried about the legendary hero if whoever they were clearly wasn't a threat. Did they think they would swoop down on them and take back the Master Sword? If that were the case, if Zelda knew them shouldn't they be worried they'd act sooner because they captured her? There were so many probabilities bouncing around in her head she found it hard to think without getting a headache. Instead she decided to shift her thoughts to the lies she'd have to tell them tomorrow about the legendary hero. Figuring out what kind of person they might be like would make her more believable.

So what would the legendary hero be like?

Zelda thought back to the books she had read about when they had saved their world and the Twilight Realm from Ganondorf and recalled feeling, shamefully, adorant of them. He seemed so strong and brave, yet mysterious and sad. He seemed so alone, more so after the Twilight Princess severed the connections between their worlds that she felt like she understood him. Of course she knew it was silly, considering all of that happened thousands of years, but it didn't stop her from wishing she could meet him if only to tell him she knew how he felt.

It reminded her of how she used to look forward to meeting the legendary hero to see if he remembered what happened so long ago. It seemed like a story more than something that actually happened. Once she had mentioned this to her father but when he pointed out they might only think of her as who she might have been rather than who she is now she let go of the notion quickly. She certainly didn't think she was centuries old and fought Ganondorf before so she didn't want anyone else to think the same either… that and if people did think that they would be even more disappointed in her.

'Silence, are you listening?' Zelda asked aloud to the guard at their post, hoping they hadn't changed out while she was being interrogated. She saw them give a slow nod and cautiously asked, 'What do you think of me? Do you hate me?'

She thought they wouldn't respond until she saw them give a simple shrug. 'You don't know?' Zelda interpreted, confused, 'How do you not know? Wouldn't the answer be yes since my family is responsible for the Shiekah being scorned?'

She was a quiet for a moment before asking instead, 'So why aren't you sure?'

Silence.
