Chapter Three – First Signs

Yami doesn't answer Mikan's question, yet Mikan wasn't going to let the comment go. Therefore, her next question was "So you really want to try a two-piece swimsuit?" Yami nods at Mikan, as the best friends enters the mall. The first store they came across was called Yate's Clothing.
The store was big, and Mikan and Yami go in to see the different types of clothes. While she is looking around, Yami remembers the events of her date with Rito. Her cheeks turn bright red, remembering how smooth and calm Rito acted when he went along with it.
"Hey Yami." Mikan calls out to her best friend.
She follows Mikan over to look at the different types of swimwear with her dark red eyes noticing numerous bikinis in different colors. Mikan picks a light brown one for herself, but Yami finds that she is having more difficulty choosing. Yami picks up a black two-piece swimsuit and as walks over to the changing rooms. She closes the curtains to her room before she removes her clothes, revealing her small B cup breasts and pink nipples. Her cheeks turn bright red again, as she wonders if Rito likes girls with small breasts. She shakes her head a little to stop that line of thought about her target or his likes, though she remembers that her lips were sensitive from the feeling of Rito when he kissed her for the first time.
Yami continued to wonder about the kiss, how it felt, and the feelings it arose in her mind.
"Why am I thinking about him so much?" Yami asked herself, confusion apparent in her tone of voice. She gets dress and finds that her swimwear looks good on her for her age. Once again, she thinks of Rito seeing her in this outfit and checking her out. She looks down to see that she is holding her hands to her chest as her heart was thumping quickly again.
'My heart is beating so fast.' Her thinks, thinking about how Rito makes her feel and not noticing that Mikan is calling out to her.
"Hey Yami?" Mikan was now wearing the brown bikini she had selected, showing off her round butt, and her hair was tied into a ponytail.
"Yes?" asked Yami, as she snapped out of her thoughts.
"Are you doing alright in there?" Said Mikan in a worried tone.
"I'm fine, just thinking that's all." Yami replies.
Mikan wonders what Yami is thinking about. Rito was acting a little weird when he has returned from his errands yesterday. He was silent throughout dinner and she noticed how the two haven't said anything about what happened yesterday.
"Yami... What happened yesterday? Because when I tried to call you earlier, you didn't answer." Mikan asks Yami with the worried tone.
Yami, remembering her date while under the possession of the pollen, blushes a bit. She didn't know how to tell Mikan that she had gone on a date with her older brother and that they had accidentally kissed at the end of it.
"I-I was just training, and I forgot to answer you yesterday… Sorry about that." Yami responds in a compassionate tone.
"I see... Can I ask you another question? Why are you wanting to get a two piece?" Mikan asked as she went to get her outfit back on. Yami didn't show any romantic feelings towards anyone, so it was suspicious that Yami would suddenly want such a provocative outfit.
"I-I'm just curious, no other reason." Yami stammered back, not wanting to give Mikan any further details.
Mikan stopped asking questions at that point. See could tell there was more going on that Yami wasn't sharing, but she didn't wish to bother her friend further.
"Okay, if you say so." Mikan says to her friend. Yami nods at her friend, promising herself to tell her best friend what really happened when the right time came around.
Mikan and Yami went to get something to eat, though Mikan noticed that Yami was thinking hard to herself. "So, are you thinking about someone special, Yami?" Mikan asked, to help her friend out.
"What makes you say that?" Asked Yami, a touch embarrassed.
"Because you seem lost in thought. I can tell you're not acting like yourself today." Mikan tells her with a confident tone, watching as Yami looks at the various places of where she and Rito went to on their date.
Seeing the Taiyaki Store, Yami remembers going there with Rito and enjoying herself, which causes her cheeks to become deep red, thinking about they shared moment together.
"W-well more or less." She responds back to Mikan.
"So, let me ask you one last question... This doesn't happen to involve Rito right?" Asked Mikan. Yami went silent, refusing to answer. After a while, Mikan says "Well, I guess I will see you this Saturday, right?" She says this to Yami in a gentle tone. Yami nods and agrees to meet Mikan and the others at the pool. Her thoughts return to the possibility of Rito checking her out in her new black bikini.
Yami nods at Mikan, as her cheeks turns deep red, hoping that Rito will like to see her in nice swimming wear.
-At Saturday-
Rito was wearing light silver shirt and dark blue pants as he went to swimming pool with Lala, Momo, Nana, Mikan and Saruyama.
'I still can't get Yami out of my head.' Rito thinks, while his mind remembers how she looked the other day.
Rito puts his dark blue swimming trunks on and walks out to see the large swimming pool. He watches as the girls were coming out of their changing room and sees Yami was wearing black two-piece bikini. The two-piece gives Yami an interesting and nice look, with her light skin making her look amazing. The triangles of the black bikini top covered her breasts and the bottom covered her pussy, but it was showing her round butt.
His cheeks began to turn red from seeing Yami in bikini. As this was happening, though, Saruyama noticed how Rito was only checking Yami out. Yami steps over towards Rito.
"Yuuki Rito... H-H-How do I-I look?" Yami was nervous, as her recent interactions with Rito were still fresh in her mind.
"Y-Y-You look cute." Rito tells her with a similar level of nervousness in his voice.
Yami nods at the comment and her cheeks becomes deep red. "Did something happen between you two?" Mikan asking Rito, while Yami walks away from them, her butt showing from beneath her hair.
"Nothing much." Said Rito, his cheeks now a bright red.
Yami sits down at poolside and swings her feet into the water. She steals glances at Rito, her cheeks becoming dark red.
'I never felt it, but I guess that is not too bad, since he can tell, and I-I would like to enjoy it again.' Yami thinks back on the moment and remembers the kiss between herself and Rito.
Rito walks over to Yami and asks her "Hey Yami... Would you like to learn how to swim?" His tone was nervous, which both Risa and Mio notice. To them, it is like seeing them as couple about to get together.
"Yes, I would love that." She responds back to him.
He offered his hand to her, to which she gave a gentle smile. Rito and Yami walk over to the edge of the pool. He says, "Would you like to try to get used to the water first?" She nods to him as they reach the swimming pool, Rito entering the water first. Yami enters and her hair spread out everywhere in the water, giving Rito a brief glimpse of her round butt uncovered by her hair before it goes under the water.
The water was chilly at first but felt nice. Yami takes a few cautious steps and accidently slips. Rito catches her in his arms and looks down at her, asking "Are you alright?" Her face becomes deep red as she nods at Rito nervously.
Rito starts teaching Yami how to swim, while Lala asks, "Do they seem like they are together?" She turns her head to Haruna who replies
"I think so." Haruna was starting to feel a little jealous about how Rito and Yami seemed to be acting together.
After a bit, Rito and Yami's swimming lesson turned into a swimming contest.
"It seems like you won, Yami." Rito said upon loosing said competition. He was having fun with her.
"Thank you." Yami responds back to Rito.
Rito notices Yami starting to smile, something he has never seen her do since she came to Earth. "If you're looking at my breasts... I'm going to poke your eyes out, Yuu... Rito." Yami states, embarrassedly calling him by his name.
"S-Sorry." Rito replies, looking away quickly.
Yami lightly punches Rito's shoulder as she giggles, making it clear that she is only joking with Rito.
"Huh?" Rito becomes confused as to why Yami is giggling, though he finds it is kind of cute to hear.
"Rito... I'm just playing around with you." Yami tells Rito but shows a light smile at him. Meanwhile, the are watching the pair having fun together as if they were on a date.
Rito releases a sigh of relief and begins thinking about how to tell Yami that he is enjoying her company now. Before he can speak, Yami splashes water on Rito for fun and looks at him.
Laughing, Rito splashes her back, causing Yami to shake her wet hair away from herself.
Yami giggles a little more and Lala says, "Let them have their fun." Deep down, Lala wondered when the pair had gotten so close.
Haruna nods as she smiles at Rito and Yami, but she was starting feel jealous towards the pair having fun together. Rito goes under the water and Yami follows him, to which he smiles at her. As the pair stay under to see who can hold their breathe the longest, Yami returns the smile.
'It's really nice to see her smile.' Rito thinks, having seen Yami's bright smile, while her thoughts are about their impromptu contest being interesting. Then, Rito loses traction underwater and begins to fall towards Yami. His mind immediately remembers the numerous other times a situation like this has happened, and how whichever girl he tends to land on ends up in an ecchi pose. He immediately closes his eyes in order to make sure he doesn't see this happen to Yami.
Yami catches him, preventing him from accidently kissing her. Rito, meanwhile, was starting to run out air, so the pair surfaced in such a way that if their friends had seen them, it would look like they were about to kiss. At this thought, the pair quickly pulled away from each other.
"I'm going to go get a drink!" Rito tells Yami, quickly exiting the pool, though Saruyama notices the mild panic in Rito's voice.
Yami, blushing profusely about the moment they just had, felt a pang of regret that she and Rito hadn't been able to share another kiss.
Rito gets a large soda and starts thinking about why he wanted to kiss Yami again. He soon shakes the thoughts from his head. Surely Yami wouldn't want to do that again. The first time was only accident and if it happened again, while wasn't under the effects of Celine's pollen, who knows what might happen?
He looks to the time displayed on the vending machines and sees the time is 2 p.m. He sighs, trying to get his mind straight, and purchasing another drink, before heading back to the pool area, where his friends were all happily playing.
Rito sits down on a wooden bench and starts watching Yami doing stretches, which shows off her butt to Rito. His thoughts become slightly naughty, imagining himself and Yami going further then kissing. He once again shakes his head clear of these thoughts because Yami hates ecchi.
As Rito drinks his soda, Saruyama slips up beside him saying "Hey Rito?"
"Yeah?" Rito replies, losing his train of thought and turning to his best friend. Rito tilts his head wondering how his friend had snuck up on him.
"Do you have a crush on Yami?" Saruyama askes, getting straight to the point. "Why are you asking me that?" Rito answers confused. Why would Saruyama want to know about his love life? He usually just makes the jokes or tells Rito to get lost so that he can have a chance with women. Clearly, Rito hasn't noticed that his heart beats faster when he is thinking of Yami.
"Because it seems like you two are close all of a sudden." Saruyama says, having seen the way Rito and Yami have been acting towards each other.
"W-We're just being friends." Rito tells Saruyama with confident inside of his voice. In his head, however, Rito isn't sure whether that is the truth or that he might just be trying to convince himself that it is.
"Right...Just friends?" Saruyama says, before he gets up and starts walking away, leaving Rito confused. He looks up and sees Yami talking with Mikan, her normal expression having returned.
His thoughts are 'What should I do?' regarding his relationship with Yami. His thoughts are as unclear as his feelings.
Meanwhile, Yami says "I never knew the pool was fun place."
"It's usually more fun when you do it with group." Said Mikan, as Yami nods at her best friend. She turns her head and sees Rito talking with Saruyama. Her cheeks turn bright red and her heart seems to beat a little faster.
"Do you have crush on Rito?" Mikan watches as Yami turns bright red. She had noticed the way her friend and her brother had been acting around each other. Yami slowly nods her head while looking away shyly.
Mikan, surprised at her friend response, says, "How about you hang out with me until you're ready to tell him." She was surprised at the way Yami had started stealing glances at Rito.
"T-That'll be great and thank you." Yami responds back.
Yami rubs her arms as she asks her friend a crazy question. "Mikan... Does Rito like girls with big breasts?"
"I'm sorry and say what?" Mikan couldn't believe what she is hearing. Her surprise was clearly visible as she tried to confirm what she had just heard from the blond assassin.
"Does Rito like girls with big breasts?" Yami asked again, apparently missing her friend's confusion.
"Well I'm not sure… I don't know, but to be honest it doesn't matter to him which size there is and why are you asking?" Mikan answered as politely as could to Yami's curious question. Truthfully, Rito was only interested in girl's personalities, while their chest size was more of a secondary concern to him. "I'm just curious." Yami says, turning away from her best friend in a failed effort to hide how red her face was getting.
"Are you worried Rito won't like you because you don't have big breasts?" Mikan asked her best friend with a teasing smile. Yami nods because she cared for Rito and wanted to give him everything. However, deep down, she was scared that another assassin might come after him to get to her. "Yami, you don't have to worry… You know how Rito is and I'm sure if you want to get to know him better, then you just need to show him your feelings and be honest with him." Mikan responds back to her.
Suddenly, a tentacle struck at Rito from the water, though he was able to drop down and avoid getting injured. As he gets up, he sees a large creature in the pool and says, "What the hell is this thing?"
A large, light blue water Amoeba rises in front of Rito, then strikes out in Yami and Mikan's direction. However, Rito blocks the attack and is dragged into the water by the creature.
As the Amoeba pulls him into its body, Rito cries out "Stay back... Mikan and Yami-chan". Rito says this with a firm tone of voice, which surprises him, along how he phrased Yami's name.
"What is that creature and what it doing to Rito?" Asked Mikan.
Rito was trying his best to hold his breath, which was proving to be difficult, as the creature was trying to keep Rito inside forcefully. The water pressure was making him lose his focus. "He's in trouble!" Yami said in shocked voice.
Yami rushes into the water before jumping into the creature. She transforms herself into a mermaid form with a dark blue tail and fins. Yami enters the water and works to save Rito from drowning, by removing him from the creature's core. However, as Rito ran out of breath, Yami kisses him to give him some air to breath.
When Rito opens his eyes, he sees Yami in her mermaid form. He had to admit she looked very beautiful but blushed at the fact that they were kissing in a way. Yami pulls away, as while she would have liked to keep kissing Rito, the Amoeba is still a threat. Yami quickly destroys the core and she and Rito escape the dying creature, before swimming to safety. Rito stumbles a bit, but after catching his breath is okay.
"Are you alright?" Yami asks, worrying for his safety.
"Yes, and thank you for saving me, Yami-chan." Rito responds back.
She rubs her hands together and does something surprises everyone. She hugs Rito as she buries her head into his chest.
"Rito-kun... please don't scare me like that again." Yami says.
"I'll try to." He tells her.
Momo, watching this unfold, keeps telling herself that she doesn't mind being in second or third place.
