She had blood on her suit and it was enough to reach her skin underneath. They had just killed the ambassador to Portugal and he was a heavy bleeder. "Shit, shit. Rogue honey could you come here for a second?"
She rolled her eyes at his voice sounding so sweet. "What the fuckā¦" She trailed off as she saw a small girl huddled in the corner of the bedroom clutching a teddy bear. The girl was scared but Rogue eyes left her face to see that the girl was naked. Rogue looked around for clothes and saw none.
"You sick son of a bitch." She walked back into the room where the man laid gasping at air that would never really fill his lungs. She kicked him over and over. "Ah should skin you while you're still alive you bastard."
She kicked him one more time before going back into the room with Deadpool and the girl. She grabbed a blanket to wrap the girl in. "Honey it's okay we're going to take you somewhere safe okay?" The girl shook her head.
Rogue sighed. They had to leave and soon otherwise they'd be wanted in another state. "He can't hurt you anymore. Ah'll get you something to wear and some food. Come on you don't want to stay here with his body do ya?"
The little girl shook her head and stood so that Rogue could wrap her in the blanket. Deadpool said to her in a serious voice. "You shouldn't have said that to her." She knew but they had to leave now.
She sighed as she picked the girl up. "Ah know but we have to leave."

The girl had been a mutant; her power was levitation which would happen at random times. The girl who said her name was Skylar was only five and it made Rogue's blood boil to know that she had been treated like that. She was holding the little girl's hand as they waited for Charles to come to the hanger. Deadpool was crouched down talking to Skylar and making her laugh. He was good at making kids laugh.
She heard the doors open and the motors of Charles' wheelchair as he rolled in. She also heard footsteps of another person. "Good evening. My I ask what brings you here?" Rogue glared at the man and the redhead behind him who smiled.
Deadpool stood and faced the in the wheel chair. "We brought you a package that needs to be taken care of and she better be or hell will reign down on your head."
"She?" Deadpool stepped over so they could see the small girl with blue eyes and brown hair holding on to her teddy bear and trying to hid behind Rogue.
"Yes, she and if anything happens to her while she's in your care there will be no mercy. Do you understand me?" Her voice was steel and it was clear that she meant what she was saying.
"Yes we understand but my I ask why she is in your care?" Rogue and Deadpool looked at each other. Charles and Jean heard him whisper 'they need to know' and she nodded.
"A few weeks ago we did a job and we searched the rooms after and she was in the bedroom naked. She was a sex slave." They heard her jaw pop as she spoke the last words. "She is not to be treated as a victim; you will give her a chance to be a kid. Do not speak of this with anyone else."
Charles nodded. "Of course. Maybe it would be best if one of you stayed until she was settled in." Rogue popped her jaw.
Deadpool walked over and stood in front of her and they talked. "I won't need you until next month anyway but it's your choice I could stay but she would feel better if it was you. Also you could go visit Tony."
She nodded. "I'll stay with her. If you need me call. Send my stuff." He nodded. The both pulled up their mask to show their mouths. He kissed her cheek and she kissed his.
"Be safe." They said at the same time. He patted Sky on her head. "Watch out for Roguie duckie." Sky let go of Rogue's hand and hugged Deadpool's legs.
After Deadpool left Charles smiled. "Come I'll give you the tour. Jean will you please have rooms set up for them."
"I need to be away from everyone else." Jean nodded as she left. Rogue blew out a breath and motioned for Charles to lead the way.

She had spent hours on end walking around the mansion making sure Sky wouldn't get lost. She also made sure the girl knew where her room was before she let the girl interact with the other kids. The girl was shy at first but once an Asian girl showed her a teddy bear just like hers Rogue knew she'd be okay.
She went to her room which had a bed, dresser and a chair. She pulled her mask off and threw it on the bed before moving the chair over to the window. She sat there staring and thinking for how long she doesn't know but her peace was interrupted by a knock on the door. "What?" She called out harshly.
"I um have your bags they were um just sent." The boy sounded scared and nervous. She didn't get up or move.
"Leave it outside the door."
"Yes ma'am." She heard the bag hit the floor and then the boy's footsteps walking no running down the hall. She put the chair back down on all fours and went to the door. Her favorite black duffle bag was there. She smirked Deadpool knew her well.
She opened her bag to find all the clothes she might need here along with fake IDs and money. She loved him. She pulled out a pair of sleep shorts and a tank top. She pulled off the suit, tucked it and the mask away into the back of the closet.
She threw back the sheets and quilt to climb in between them. Her head hit the pillow and she was out like a light. She was awoken to her door opening and a quiet voice, "Rogue can I sleep with you?"
She sighed before moving over on the bed. "Yeah come on. Nightmare?" The little girl nodded as she pulled herself onto the bed and moved so that she was tucked in under Rogue's chin. She had done this with Deadpool too once she got comfortable with him.
The next time she was woken up was to her door opening with some saying a breathy "Thank god." It brought her pleasure that they were afraid to lose the girl. Her door closed. She looked at the girl whose teddy was hanging off the bed. Sky looked content and Rogue hoped it lasted.
"Come on Sky time to get up kiddo. Ah'm hungry." Sky's eyes opened and she yawned before she slid out of bed. She stood at the door waiting for Rogue which meant Rogue couldn't change her clothes. She checked the mirror before she left and shrugged. Her hair wasn't messy which meant she hadn't moved at all last night and her face was fine, she didn't have sleep in her eyes.
Sky reached up and grabbed her hand before they left the room. She trailed behind Sky down the hall and then down some steps. She didn't notice when the room they walked into went silent. She picked up Sky on her hip and held a plate while the girl told her what she wanted.
"Can I have two kinds of syrup?" Rogue raised an eyebrow at the girl who was looking hopeful. Rogue was too sleepy for this shit.
"No pick one." Sky pouted. "Ah'm not Deadpool you can't use that against me little girl." Sky crossed her arms and pouted some more. Rogue carried her over to a table where the Asian girl from yesterday was sitting. "Be good. Ah'm right over there."
She got a plate for herself and sat away from everyone else. She was putting a piece of pancake in her mouth when two plates slid onto the table and two little girls pulled themselves into chairs across from her. "Rogue this Mia. Mia this is Rogue."
"Hi can I ask you a question?" The girl was cute and very polite. Rogue shrugged and watched as Sky encouraged the girl. "Did you do that to your hair?"
Rogue shook her head. "No this happened because I'm old and I didn't listen to my mama." Both girls gasped which made her frown.
"She's lying to you. She got those from a bottle of bleach." Logan sat down beside her. "Don't look at me like that you're at my table." She rolled her eyes.
Both girls were staring at him with wide eyes. "Come on Sky. No one is supposed to sit at Mr. Logan's table." Both girls slid down from their chairs with their plates and left. Rogue shook her head and continued to eat.
"Didn't you hear Mia? You ain't supposed to sit at Mr. Logan's table." He was being cocky and she usually killed cocky men.
"Sugah Ah've been in your head and Ah ain't scared. Growlie pants." She just continued to eat her breakfast not really paying him any attention as she watched Mia and Sky talk and eat.
"Don't call me that." He growled at her but she didn't really care. What did surprise her was his tone and the words he said next. "She'll be okay here. The little ones don't see violence and no one calls them a freak. She'll be happy."
It was then that she did look at him. "What makes you think I actually give a shit about whether or not this place is worth a damn? I don't have a choice." He smirked at her.
"Why not take her to the Brotherhood then?" She looked away from him. "That's what I thought." She stood up.
"They'd kill her because she's not a powerful mutant." She walked off needing to escape this man and she needed to get rid of some energy.
