A/N: Happy Halloween everyone! I hope you're enjoying today and are having a spook-tacular time. As promised, here is a special holiday chapter of School of Dragons.

School of Dragons

Chapter H1 - Halloween Night

"At long last! Mum, dad, can I go trick-or-treating now?"

"Hmm, I don't know, son. What do you want to do? Go tricking? Or go treating?"

"Daaaaaaaaad ..."

Seconds Shine-Stone chuckled as his son Black Wings (otherwise known as Black) groaned at another one of his bad jokes.

"If you promise to be careful, you can go."

"Thanks mum!"

Black began to run out of his parents bedroom (or bedcave as he called it) but Darkela Shine-Stone (an alt black) positioned her tail so that it blocked the way.

"I wasn't finished. You can go as long as you're careful AND you bring your sister with you."

"What?! But mum, Viola gets scared at everything! Even a little Pygmy like Frozen spooks her out! Please don't make me take her!"

"You will take her Black Wings Shine-Stone, or else no trick-or-treating. Viola needs to improve her confidence and she's been planning her costume for months now. It looks like she really wants to go this year."

"Grrrrrrrr. Alright, mum."

"There's a good boy. Go on then."

Black plodded to his room and began putting on his costume. Once he'd put it on, the anger which had flown through him had dissipated slightly and he felt a bit calmer. He gazed into the mirror which Klinky Clank Klunk - the Shine-Stone clan's resident Geode Dragon - had kindly given to the family. In the reflection the young Black Dragon hatchling saw not himself, but a masked superhero titled 'Black Wonder'. Black smiled at his reflection.

"Um, brother?"

Black saw in the mirror his sister Viola La Hour Shine-Stone cautious pad into his room. She was dressed up as a purple Nebula, with her wings decorated in purple lights and her scales painted black like her brother's natural scales.

"What?" seethed Black.

"I'd like to say thanks for taking me trick ... or ... treating ..."

Viola's voice wavered when she saw Black's face in the mirror.

"Let's just get this over with. Don't embarress me, and DEFINETLY don't get scared at the sligest thing spooky tonight, alright?"

"I'll ... I'll try ... brother ..."

"Good. Right, let's go."

Black grabbed his pumpkin bag and headed outside. Viola followed him, carrying her own bag in her mouth.

The huge cave in which the Shine-Stone clan lived in was decorated for Halloween. The different corridors which led to different families caves were decorated to celebrate the event. AmethystGems, the owner of all the dragons, was tucked up in her own cave sound asleep. She liked it when the dragons could just celebrate a holiday on their own.

Besides, she'd be up later grabbing the new Halloween egg that had been hinted by other humans would drop soon.

The entrance to the cave had been blocked up by a large boulder. This prevented any of the dragon hatchlings trying to make a bolt for it as well as any intruders coming in to spoil the fun. As it blocked the entrance, the light came from the torches that were fastened onto the walls of the cavern. The fire gave off a creepy glow that added to the festivities.

All over the place were the little hatchlings going up to each cave and saying "Trick or Treat!" and then getting sweets from the amused adults. They were all dressed in different costumes and giggling and walking with their friends.

Black and Viola were wandering over the dusty floor, going up to each house and getting sweets. Every time Viola saw one of her friends dressed up, she would utter a little yelp and then try to restrain herself from crying out too loudly. Black, however, would hear these yelps and glare at her whilst whispering "Will you shut up?!" to her.

As Black went off alone to get more sweets, Viola stood stock still wearing her costume whilst other hatchlings passed by. She tried as hard as she could not to mutter a word.

"Boo!"

"AAAAHHHHHH!"

"Relax Vi, it's me Spring!"

Viola opened her eyes slightly and realised that it was only her friend Spring Snow Shine-Stone dressed up as a Shadow Walker. The silvery, reflective sheet draped over her gave the impression that she could walk through walls just like her mother.

"Oh! Hi, Spring."

"What's the matter, Vi? I know you're always jumpy when it's Halloween, but you're never THIS jumpy!"

"It's my brother Black. He keeps telling me to shut up. I can't help it if I'm scared of ... um, everything!"

"I've got an idea, Vi. Let me just get something ..."

Spring fumbled around underneath her sheet, and then she glanced back at Viola.

"Must have left it at your house when I came round the other day. Let's go get it."

Viola nodded and followed her friend back to her house.

Black prepared himself for this house. He smiled as he heard footsteps come at the door.

"Trick or Treat!"

"Trick or treat to you too, Black Wings Shine-Stone."

Black opened his eyes and gulped. Standing in front of him was his mother, with Viola and Spring standing behind her.

"Black, have you been intimidating your sister again?"

"Mum, she was being scared over nothing again!"

"That doesn't give you the excuse to torment her like that."

"Wait a minute. Mum, what are you doing here at Spring's cave?"

"She and Viola came and told me what you did, so we arranged a little spooky surprise of our own."

Suddenly a large white ghostly object began to float out from behind Darkela. Black spotted the object and began to back away.

"Um, ya know what? I'm just gonna head back to our cave - AAAAHHHHHH!"

Black ran off in the direction of his family's cave. Darkela chuckled as Seconds pulled the white sheet off of his body.

"That should teach him a lesson. Good girl, Viola, for telling us. I'm so proud of you!"

Seconds cuddled his daughter close. Viola purred and cuddled him back. Darkela nuzzled her and joined the cuddle.

Suddenly Desra (Despair Rain who was dressed as a witch), Frozzie (Frozen Cop dressed as a Pumpkin Dragon) and Flake (Snowflake - Spring's brother - dressed as a cat) came running up to the family.

"Hey sis," greeted Snowflake calmly. "GUESS WHAT?!" he shouted quickly afterwards.

"What?"

"Master's got the new egg! Let's go see it!"

The group of dragons rushed off to see this even unfold ...
