I do not own characters or the show. I hope you all enjoy it. I also want you to notice this chapter takes around the time on MC when Rusty was threatened by the letters, but that is not the main focus of the story.

Buzz took a quick look at Rusty's math homework.

"Rusty, this is incorrect. Try again," Buzz said.

Rusty groaned and went back to his work. Buzz took a quick look at the clock. It was only 5:45. They both looked up when they heard Sharon's footsteps.

"Rusty, there is somebody who wants to see you," Sharon said.

Brenda appeared in the doorway after Sharon announced her. Rusty sat up and ran over to Brenda. He gave her a big hug. Sharon thought it was a sweet image of them.

"Whoa, Rusty, how are you doing?" Brenda said, startled by his hug.

"I'm doing okay. Stress and everything." Sharon's face slightly scrunched with concerns.

"Well, I hope you are settling well," Brenda said, then she went on teasingly "Is Sharon giving you a hard time?"

Rusty laughed. "She was at first, but it was mostly just because I'm stubborn."

"What is like living with Sharon? I can't imagine living somebody like her." Rusty laughed. Sharon gave Brenda a glare.

"I think it's...good."

Brenda laughed. Sharon witnessing the way Brenda and Rusty are chatting has her mind wander back on the times when she and Brenda had fun going out to eat for work lunches. She wondered what happened. Rusty called her name causing her to come out of reverie.

"Sharon, I was wondering if we can invite Brenda over for dinner with us on Saturday?" "Is it okay with the Chief?"

"Sharon, please called me Brenda. There is no need to use rank since I am not working with you anymore. And yes. I don't have anything to do on Saturday."

"Okay. I think we can manage that."

"Great, Awesome," Rusty said.

"Captain, we just got called to a crime scene," Tao popped in.

"So much for a quiet day. See you later, Rusty. I will be back, if not, I will have somebody take you home."

"Please don't make me ride in a cop car." Rusty whined.

"I can take him home," Brenda said.

"Oh, thank you, Chief. Rusty, do you know how to get there?"

"Yes, Sharon, go."

"Oh right."

Sharon rushed out as Brenda called, "See you later, Captain Raydor!"

Then, she looked back to Rusty. "Okay. Sharon said that I can take you home, so gather your things."

Rusty picked up all of his stuff and told Buzz bye. Brenda waved Buzz bye then left with Rusty. Buzz waved back. He sat there and thought over his observations. Working with crime team somehow helped him to gain perspective on different things. Buzz hoped Rusty would spill about their dinner details in front of the Major Crimes unit. The team would love to know. Buzz hoped that there would not be a a case on Saturday to keep Sharon from having a dinner with Brenda and Rusty.
