" Draco!" I yelled before he could leave

" Have a seat." He sat down as I walked to the kitchen to grab more wine. Good thing Ember wasn't home I was getting quit the buzz and felt it wasn't about to stop. I grabbed the whisky as well depending which way this conversation was about to go it could be needed.

I walked back into the living room and sat across from him on the floor. I set the bottles on the coffee table and took a deep breath.

" That night we meet was amazing and yeah in the morning I didn't know what to think. I'd only ever been with Ron and you just tossed me out. The look on your face was so cold. I was scared to come to you when I found out I was pregnant but I did because you had a right to know and it was your right to refuse me and the baby, but you didn't have a right to tell me what to do. I went to Saint Mungos knowing what I was going to do and you left before I could tell you my decision." I paused and took a shot. I waited to see if he was going to follow suit he didn't.

" you have a daughter." My voice shook and I just looked down. He slide off the couch and came to me.

The look on his face was something to fear. I shook. I didn't know him any more the old Draco may have hurt me I wasn't sure if this one was about to. He grabbed my wrist and he them tightly.

" Look at me Hermione." He hissed. I shook my head my whole body was trembling.

" Look at me know." I glanced up quickly and started crying hard. There was pain written all over his face. He took a deep breath and then hugged me. He held me until I stopped crying.

" I'm greatful you didn't have an abortion but so utterly pissed I'm just now finding out." He whispered. I started crying again I couldn't help it. " Stop crying Hermione." He whisper stroking my hair.

" That would make her just over a year then yeah?" I nodded " Her name?"

" Ember." He nodded slowly. He picked me up and walked towards the hall. " Which ways your room?" He asked

" I'm not sleeping with you!" I blurted out. He barked out a laugh.

" No you witch I'm taking you to bed. We can sort this out in the morning when we've both slept this off. Iv had a few and Ginny told us you guys had polished a bottle before we even got there. I'm assuming OUR daughter is with the Potters." I nodded and pointed to the door on the right. We walked to it and managed to open it holding me

" We're else would she be it's not like I leave her at home." I snapped defensively.

" Not a bubbly drunk are we." He chuckled. He laid me down and removed my shoes and then his and his pants and crawled in beside me. He didn't touch me though. I sighed and feel asleep instantly.

The sun shun thru the curtains. I flicked my wand to block it out. My head was pounding. I looked in the bed next to me and it was empty. My heart lept. I shot up worried. Did he trying to get to Ember. No Ginny wouldn't let him take her. Unless he didn't ask. I herd the shower running and slowed my breathing. I laid back down and accioed some water from the kitchen. I chugged it all then refilled it. The water shut off and the house was quiet again. I was wondering if I should make breakfast but my head hurt too much to care. I rolled back over and tried to get just a few more minutes of sleep. I felt someone shake my shoulder a while later.

" Eat." Draco murmured. He handed me a plate with eggs and sausage with toast and jam on it. He was looking at the picture on my night stand. I glanced at it and realized it was of me and Ember at the zoo. She was smiling her famous grin.

" she looks just like you." I mumbled. He stole a piece of toast from my plate and nodded.

" Draco what do you want? What can I say to me this better." I said quietly. A twinge of guilt went thru my body. " I was selfish and I'm sorry. I was mad at you for the way you treated me and I used something so precious against you."

" Hermione stop talking. Just stop." He snapped. I jumped and stayed silent.

" I'm not going to hurt you. Stop looking like your waiting for me to hit you." He said bitterly.

" When can I meet her." He asked

" Um."

He gave me a glare waiting for me to deny him.

" Stop looking at me like that. All I was going to say was I have to leave for work. How about tonight?" I snapped. " Look I apologized and if you want me to to stop looking like I'm bracing for a beating then stop looking at me like you want to give me one."

He looked flustered.

" Fine tonight. Meet me at my loft after you get off and not a minute later."

" Uh Draco." I said quietly

" what." He sounded annoyed

" I don't know where your flat is." I mumbled. He wrote down the address and left. I apperated to Ginny's to get Ember to take her to flurs. I could tell Ginny wanted to ask what happened but I told her I was late for work and thanked her for keeping Ember.

I could hardly focus at work the day seemed to flash right by unfortunately. My stomach had knots as I stood outside of Draco's house. It looked big on the outside I held Ember and contemplating If i was making the right choice. I didn't have much time to think before the door swung open and Draco was standing in the door way watching me.

" Thinking of running Granger?" He sneered.

" No" I lied

He moved and motioned me in. I slowly walked in and took a look around. The living room was decorated in shades of grey and blue. It had a cold look to it. He held his hand out.

" your coat." He said after I didn't move. I set Ember down and shrugged it off. I reached down for her right after I handed it to him.

" Have a seat." He motioned to the couch. I sat on the edge. " Your not leaving so make yourself comfortable." I was annoyed by that comment

" I'll leave if I want to." I snapped

" No you owe me an explanation and a chance to get to know my daughter. Your selfishness has kept her from me long enough. I can take you to court if you would prefer that route."

" You wouldn't dare." I hissed

" Try me Granger. I'm very pissed right now and your not making me feel any better holding onto her like I'm going to attack one of you. Do you honestly think I would hurt ether one of you?"

I shrugged.

" I don't know you Draco." He scoffed Ember was getting impatient sitting and she started wiggling to get free.

" Set her down she's safe with me." I reluctantly did as he said. We sat there and watched her wonder around smiling as she went. After a moment he spoke

" Who watched her while you work?"

" Flur. She runs a little daycare down the road from my work." He nodded in approval.

" Iv herd it's quit good."

" Yes Ember seems to love her. She always brings home little art works and is always smiling when she sees Flur." Again a nod.

" Has she shown any magic?"

" No would that be a problem if she was squib?" I snapped.

" Lay off. I was just asking. I'm not the same prick if was in school."

" Sorry" though I wasn't he wanted this he'll accept it for what it is. A ding sounded from the kitchen he got up and walked into the next room. Ember trotted behind him. She seemed to be okay with him. I got up to watch them. He made she backed up when he opened the oven. He pulled out some kind of baked chicken and vegetables. It smelled amazing.

" Uhh she eats human food right? I don't have anything else." He asked worried now. I giggled at his question.

" She is a human Draco." I stepped further into the kitchen and grabbed a knife to cut up her food into bit sized pieces. He moved around me with two plates and set them on the table. I transfigured one of the chairs into a high chair for Ember. She ran over to it and tried climbing into it. Before I could help her Draco lifted her into it and strapped her in. I set her plate down and we started eating in silence.

"Dinners good." I mumbled. He nodded I was again starting to feel like this was a bad idea. He cleared his throat.

" So how is this going to work."

" How will what work?" I replied

" Us with Ember. I want to be her dad. The good the bad. The bills as well obviously. Daycare, clothes, later her school needs, anything she needs but I want time." He said. I was quiet for a second.

" Well I would like to take it slow." He looked angry at my pause. I started quickly.

" I'm not saying no it's just an adjustment. Let's start with dinner a few days a week and then possibly outings on the weekend and then go from there. She dosnt' know you Draco. "

" And who's fault is that!" He roared. I crouched down in my chair. His face looked remorseful.

" Hermione I'm sorry. It's just hard. I didn't know she existed and now she does and she's here and I want to spend as much time with her and get to know her and for her to know me." I nodded I didn't have a response. " I already have her room done. Would you like to see?" He stood without waiting for a response and held out his hand. I took Ember out of her seat and set her on the floor. I took his hand and followed him down the hall. At the end of the hall there was 3 doors. Left, right and one in front.

" one in front is the bathroom, left if mine and right is hers. He opened Embers door and stepped aside so I could see. The walls were light blue with a light purple trim. There were little decorations of woodland creatures. A toddler bed was against the back wall and a toy box in the corner. Embers name was written in scroll above the bed.

" my mum helped me when I told her about Ember she didn't seem too surprised though." I kept silent i didn't feel it was right for me to tell him that his mum had met Ember before he did. The room was cute and I was in love with it. Ember was running around it laughing. I was touched he did this without even knowing how tonight would go. I squeezed his hand. He smiled and me then let go. He walked into the room and started to chase Ember around. After watching them play for awhile I was sorry to announce bedtime. Draco's face fell.

" Work tomorrow?" He asked

" I only have the weekends off and I have to be at the store at 8 to get ready for the day."

" When can I see her again?" He asked hopeful.

" What's today? Tuesday right?" He nodded " Thursday,Friday and possible a weekend day?" I offered

" Why not tomorrow?" He asked half let down.

" I have to work late tomorrow and it'll be dinner and bed time by the time I get off." I relied.

" Okay well let's do Sunday I have plans Saturday." The stung when he said that. I knew it shouldn't I had no control over him but still the way he told me his feelings. I was getting ahead of myself he didn't even say he had a date, plans didn't equal a date. His fingers snapped

" huh." I mumbled

" I asked if that was okay. Your eyes glossed over thought." He said softly

" Sunday's Fine." I mumbled and grabbed Ember

" Bye bye bye." She waved excitedly at Draco. He waved as he watched as apperate.
