Here comes Chapter 3!
"These, are the keys to your new, shared, home," said Shyvana as she handed each a pair of keys. Garen nodded his thanks and hid the keys inside his big hand, while Katarina simply placed them in her bra. She saw the look they both gave her and rolled her eyes, taking them out and hooking them in her belt. "There, happy now?"
"Yeah, to tell the truth," Garen said, making Katarina turn at him with a questioning look. He saw her raised eyebrow and smirked. "I wouldn't want to touch your... Any part of you when I'll steal those. Hope you are used to sleeping on the ground, Sinister Blade."
"Garen," Shyvanna said sternly. "You shall do no such thing. You need to get to know each other. After all, you shall be married."
Katarina glared at Shyvana. She knew that her best friend did not believe that she didn't like Garen, but she had to prove her true. The Might of Demacia had no effect on her. She could play him just as easily, but he couldn't.
"No need to remind us again and again," Katarina murmured and turned to leave but Shyvana stopped her. "There's something more... Something we decided not to tell you yet, since it would be a total destruction. But I seriously believe you deserve to know."
Garen felt weird, suddenly. He turned to look at Katarina, who also had a glint of fear in her eyes, then turned to Shyvana.
"What else is there to know?"
But he already knew he had made a mistake for asking.
"The League wants an heir, from you two. And you have 6 months for Katarina to be with child."
The keys fell from Garen's hands, hitting the floor. Katarina took a step back, already feeling a bit dizzy. This... This was not happening.
"Are you serious? Are you being serious right now?!" Katarina shrieked. She was barely able to accept the fact that she had to be married. Then, there was the fact that she had to marry Garen Crownguard. And now they were telling her she had to sleep with him, and be pregnant in less than 6 months? Did they expect them to fall in love too?
"What next? You expect us to fall in love?" Garen spoke up, voicing Katarina's thoughts.
"In fact, we all do, yes." Shyvana said, not afraid of any reactions she might receive from the two. "But there is no need for you to be worried from now. You are not even married yet. I just wanted you to know, before it was too late."
Both nodded, understanding why the half dragon had informed them before anyone else did. Before anything else happened.
"Thank you, Shyvana. We appreciate it." Katarina said and inhaled sharply. "I guess I'll go unpack the little things I have,"
"We will go back to Noxus together to get anything you need," Garen cut her off. "And we shall buy you new things from here."
Katarina looked at him strangely. "Why are you being kind to me right now?" She couldn't help but think there was some kind of twisted motive behind all this.
"Well," Garen started, "You shall be my wife after all. And as much as I despise you, I have manners, and I know how to treat a woman. Even more, my wife." Then he took her hand and brought it close to his lips, placing a small kiss on top of it, before placing it over his armor covered heart.
Katarina didn't know what this was, so she turned from Garen to Shyvana, confused. "It's our traditional way of showing devotion to our mate. He just swore to be yours, as long you are his," the half Dragon said with a small smile.
Garen wasn't in love with her. He didn't even like her. He couldn't like her. But he did feel attracted to her. And even if he didn't want to admit this, Jarvan was right. Sacrifices had to be made in order for greater things to happen. And he could sacrifice his life, like he had sworn to do, to bring peace to Demacia. Protect his people. His family, his friends, and every other Demacian.
So, instead of being completely negative about this, he decided to keep this was inside him, and try to get along. At least, he could pretend they were something. He couldn't feel it, but he could act like it.
Letting her hand fall, Katarina made a move to do the same thing he did. Taking his hand she looked Shyvana and went to kiss it, but the other woman stopped her. "Oh no, no. We don't do this."
"Then what?" Katarina said. Since he was going along with it, she might as well try and do that too, Fighting wouldn't get them anywhere, but she had not forgotten had she had promised to Shyvana. This marriage would be a torment for him. What she hadn't clarified was the type of torment she was planning on making him go through.
"You kiss him."
"I what?" Katarina snapped. Why were Demacians so... affectionate?
"You move closer, place one hand against his cheek, and the softly kiss him. Just a small one. As a promise," Shyvana said softly, and urged her to do so.
The redhead assassin was not one to chicken out. After all, it was just a kiss. It meant nothing.
Looking at Garen, she softly raised her right hand and placed it against his left cheek, moving her body closer to his. She felt a shiver run down her spine, at how well her body fit in his arms. As if it was molded to be there.
Eyes fluttered close as she stood on her tiptoes, her lips almost brushing his. But she couldn't reach him. A small smirk played on Garen's lips when he understood, and he snaked his arms around her petite but curvy body, lifting her up just a bit for her to touch his lips. Katarina yelped in the kiss and Shyvana snickered, but then Garen placed her down and she pulled back.
"This is not happening again!" she said and turned around to leave.
"Of course, Sinister Blade!" Garen yelled after her, making Shyvana laugh uncontrollably.
Garen was laughing, staring as Katarina left the room. "You like her."
That caught his attention and he turned to look at the woman behind him.
His smile died and he put on he usual mask. "I don't. I just decided to put away the fights."
"Garen I know you. The fact that I covered you up does not mean she won't learn at some point."
"She won't learn," Garen insisted.
"Learn what?" Jarvan's voice came out of nowhere. He moved closer to his beloved Shyvana and wrapped his arms around her.
"That he didn't just promise devotion. He swore to protect her with his life. To love her. To make her his."
"Did he..?" Jarvan said shocked.
"Yes. I made the vow," Garen said and he too, left the room without another word, leaving a completely shocked Jarvan to stare in space.
Katarina unlocked the door to their house. It was a Mansion, inside the Grounds of the Castle, and she had to say it was beautiful.
Making her way inside, she dragged along her things and closed the door. It wasn't hard to find things around the house.
She just stood there for a bit, staring around, not knowing from where to start first. "I hate how my life changes so suddenly..," she mumbled to herself and grabbed her things for the last time, making her way up the Grand Staircase and towards the second floor, where all the rooms were.
She pushed the first door she found open to reveal a gigantic bedroom. Their bed was made out of carved wood and looked like a true work of art. She felt a small smile tug on her lips and she threw her things in the corner, before jumping on the bed. She laughed as a pillow fell over her face and rolled around, enjoying the softness of it.
"I might just like it here..."
"Hopefully, you will!"
Katarina jumped up, hands going to her belt immediately to grab one of her little daggers but stopped as soon as she saw the smiling, and very excited, Lux.
"Warning for you. Never sneak up on me, unless you want a dagger between your eyes," Katarina warned the blonde and she gasped, taking a step back.
"Sorry...," she mumbled. "Talon just wanted me to give him a tour, and I assumed he would of come to find you, since I can't seem to find him anywhere."
Katarina placed the pillow back in its place and got closer to the girl with a small smirk. "Looking for Talon huh?"
Lux blushed a bit and waved her hand in front of her face. "Forget it. He, obviously, isn't here, so I'll just go find him," but Katarina stopped her in her tracks. "How did you get in, little witch?"
Lux shrugged and turned around to face the redhead. "I got keys for the place."
"Hand them over to me."
"No," Lux insisted and Katarina gave her a sharp look. "Hand. Them. Over."
"No!"
And then the witch simply started running out of the room. Katarina did not make a move to go after her, though. If the blonde wouldn't give her the keys, she wold give them to her brother, and she knew a very persuading way of getting him into taking the keys from his sister. But after this incident, Katarina wondered whether someone else had keys to their house too, or it was just Luxanna who decided to copy those keys and use them. But for what? Walking in on them?
"Ain't happening," Kata said, shaking her head and started unpacking slowly. This would be a long night.
