Vegas Consequences Chapter 3:

Wonder Woman gasped as her body trembled with the pain lancing through her body.
Not even her battle with Ares had hurt this much and he had been a god.
To know that the woman who had taken Kara's heart was not only feeling this now but had experienced it at least twice before brought a tear to her eye.

As she drew in a shaky breath she felt a cool cloth being placed on her brow.
She opened her eyes to see a woman with long brown hair falling in cascading curls and deep chestnut eyes gently wiping the sweat from her brow. On the bedside table in the corner of her eye she saw her tiara and lasso.

"W – what w – was that" She gasped out as her body shuddered with another tremble.
"That was the torture curse." The woman said quietly as she removed the cloth to rinse it before running it down Wonder Woman's arms.

"We can't do much at the moment I'm afraid, we're waiting for the twins to finish brewing the Anti-Cruciatus curse potion. It doesn't stop the pain but it at least dulls it."
Wonder Woman nodded before she answered.
"An aptly n – named curse. Th – that pain w – was excruciating." Wonder Woman mumbled.

"If I m – may ask y – your n – name?" Wonder Woman asked again. Glad she had been trained to ignore pain.
"Oh sorry, my name's Hermione Granger; well Granger-Black now since Harmony adopted me, after my parents were mu – murd – killed."

Wonder Woman's eyes flashed as she heard this, she prayed it wasn't so but about nineteen years ago an Amazon had requested to be banished to the world of man, to grow old and die there. Hippolyta had tried to deny her but Hera herself had stepped in and granted the request. Her name had been Helena and this Hermione looked a lot like her.

"F – Forgive me f – for a – asking but w – what was y – your m – mothers' maiden n – name" Hermione actually smiled a small smile at this as she answered.
"Many people wouldn't believe me when I told them it was Troi. Simply because of her fir-"

Wonder Woman had broken down tears escaping. It was true, the woman she once called sister had been killed when all she'd wanted was to live in peace.
"Wonder Woman, what's wrong. Is the pain hurting too much?" Hermione asked kneeling next to the cot as she placed the cloth on the heroine's forehead once more.

Just then the twins came in holding a vial of orange liquid.
"Here it's done. . ."

"Down it in one. . ."
"It tastes like. . ."
"Rotten vegetables, sorry." They said in their usual pattern.

Wonder Woman tried to sit up, but found her trembling forbade even that.
Hermione slid her arm beneath the Amazon warrior as one of the red heads moved the other side of the cot and did the same and together they helped her to sit upright.

The red head that'd helped her held a vial up as he spoke; his twin moving to the other side of the room where Wonder Woman could now see Harmony being cradled by Kara with Clark sat near them.

"Can you hold this, or do you just want to tilt your head back as I pour it?" He asked. To check she held her hand out to see it shook worse than an earthquake and grimaced.
"E – Empty it a – as fast as p – possible. I –if it t – tastes a – as bad a – as you s – say." She said before leaning her head back, finding Hermione's hand moving to support it while the red head brought the vial to her lips and poured as fast as he could without making her choke.

She found his description of the taste to be a rather understated affair, having to force herself not to spit it out as she drank it down.
Merely seconds later her trembles stopped and she was simply left with an all-over body ache.
Sighing she swung her legs round to sit on the edge of the cot after thanking the man who'd helped her.

"No worries, oh I'm Fred and my brother over there's George." She nodded knowing once they'd left the room she wouldn't know which was which as they were completely identical.
Fred got up and left the room George soon following. After they left Wonder Woman looked over to see Harmony had fallen asleep as soon as the potion had kicked in and Kara was just flying her out the room as Clark came over.

Sighing she looked to Hermione as she spoke.
"Nineteen years ago, on the island of Themyscira a woman I called sister who was one of our warrior healers wished to live in the world of man permanently. She longed to find the right man for her, to fall in love and have a family. Hera granted her wish and she left.
My sister in all but blood, her name was Helena Troi. I believe you have the heritage of the Amazons within you."

Hermione's face at that point showed confusion, disbelief, shock and fear before it all caught up with her. She did the only thing her logical mind could think of doing at that point – she fainted.
Wonder Woman caught her and looked to Clark.
"Well, that went better than I hoped." She said making him raise an eyebrow.
"I thought she would have tried to deny it or lash out. When someone faints, they believe it, yet it is too much to handle at first."

Clark nodded as he stood up leading her out the room as she carried the unconscious Hermione, ignoring the pain of her body now she'd had that potion.
"Tell me, how many were injured when the League arrived. She asked as Clark opened the door to a room that had Hermione's name on a plaque.

He went over to look out the window as she settled the girl in her own bed, pulling a chair close so she would be there when she awoke. Clark took a deep breath before he continued.
"Twenty seven are in the medical wing, fifteen of those only with minor injuries." She could see in his face there was more so held her silence as his head dropped. "Four dead."

As he said this she gasped her hand coming up to cover her mouth.
"Who?" she asked, barely a whisper but knew he would hear her. As he listed the names of the fallen she shook her head. It couldn't happen. One maybe, but four at once, this hadn't happened in years.

"When Harmony wakes we're having a council of war, the leaders of mundane Britain have been informed as to the troubles going on. We have been officially asked to step in. I am asking you now as Diana Prince, Ambassador to the Amazon Nation, will you forward a request for support to your Queen.

Wonder Woman nodded knowing that this was probably one of the most serious fights she'd ever faced since she returned to the world of Man.
She composed her features and pulled off one of her bracelets opening it and depressing a triangle inside before setting it to the ground.

Moments later the image of Queen Hippolyta was in front of her.
"Mother, I am in need of our warriors help. There is a battle coming, I have already been in one and lives have been lost." She said tears falling down her face.

"My child, you know all you need do is ask, now tell me the details." Diana nodded before she told of what had occurred today; leading up to her falling however when she used the words
"Cruciatus Curse." She was interrupted as her mother's image left. In her place her old trainer Artemis stood looking to the side in shock.

"Diana what did you say? Your mother is busy destroying statues with her bare hands." She asked her in awe.
"I have been subjected to the Cruciatus Curse." The red head in the mirror images face hardened to the one she was known for on the battlefield.

"Are you well?!" She demanded.
"I am fine; the wizards here brew a potion to limit the after effects, that and . . . Helena's daughter watched over me while I was incapacitated." She said quietly as a tear slid down her face.
"You've met her daughter. How is Helena?" Artemis asked with a smile.
"Dead. Murdered." Was Diana's reply – once more Artemis's face closed down.

"Excuse me." She said and disappeared. And another woman, one who'd taught her how to shoot a bow stood there.
"Okaaay, now we have two people destroying the statues. Don't tell me, your mother is returning now Artemis has spoken to her."

Diana nodded as her mother's image once more took all her attention.
"Forgive me daughter, but that curse was taught to the humans by Ares, it was this final act that pushed Hera into helping me to free us from our bonds of slavery to him. To know that vile thing still exists . . ." Hippolyta took a moment to order her thoughts.

"Now what is this I hear from Artemis?" She ducked as a piece of masonry passed where she had been before reappearing. "About Helena's murder." Diana told her mother everything else she knew before going on to what she knew about Harmony in brief.

"They attack and murder one of our warriors to hurt another, Try to kill another in the street, torture my daughter and kill her comrades. You think I won't help then Hermes has spiked your wine. I shall see you soon daughter." Hippolyta closed the link as Diana picked her bracelet back up and clasped it back about her wrist as Hermione started to come around.

"Clark, it is best if you leave. There are some secrets to being an Amazon that are not for outsiders to hear." He nodded and left the room as Diana sat in her chair waiting for Hermione to wake up properly. This was going to be a long talk.

-o.O.O.o-

Harmony woke up in her bed bereft of any clothing, thanking Tonks once more for warning Kara about that, she then realised not even a sheet covered her, she was completely exposed. She could feel a hand gently stroking her back along the scars left by her Uncles tender care when her fifth birthday arrived. She'd asked for a kitten plush for in her cupboard, instead she'd received a cat, a 'Cat o' nine tails'.

Looking around she saw Kara was lay on the bed near her in the same mode of undress as her, rolling over she lay her head against Kara's breast as she gently started kissing the skin there, she noticed Kara's breathing hitching as she did this.

-o.O.O.o-

A couple of hours later Kara looked down as she felt Harmony's shoulders shaking and heard her muffled sniffs into the pillow so she gently rolled her over so she was on her side facing her.
"Hey what's wrong? I only wanted to show you how much I loved you." Kara said concerned that maybe she'd got something wrong when Harmony pulled her close, maybe it had been too soon to show her the physical side of her love.

"You did, I just didn't think anyone could love me that much, I saw it in your eyes. I never thought anyone would ever love me that much. Plus with way you showed me – that has got to be the most loving way of being made love to I've heard of, you were so gentle with me." She finished sniffing.

"I don't deserve you." She mumbled, once more Kara thought she forgot about her super-hearing.

"Hey, stop that." Kara said not unkindly as she reached between them to put a finger under Harmony's chin and lift it to meet her eyes.
"You deserve as much happiness as everyone else. Don't you ever believe otherwise." She placed a small gentle kiss on Harmony's lips and pulled away to see the green eyed woman fighting sleep.
"Shh, sleep now, and I promise you'll wake here in my arms."
"Love . . . you" Harmony managed to mumble out before she lost her battle with exhaustion and fell asleep.

Kara smiled and gently leaned forwards, pressing her lips to Harmony's forehead.
"I love you too." She whispered as she settled down to sleep with her wife.

-o.O.O.o-

Harmony woke up once more in bed, she felt Kara's chest pressing against her own and one of her legs had come across her hip. But most importantly, she was still in Kara's arms.
Tilting her head slightly she pressed her lips to Kara's with a quick kiss before watching as her beautiful brilliant blue eyes opened, blinking a few times to get them to focus.

When they did the smile that lit up Kara's face made Harmony's heart race for a moment. This woman had chosen to stay with her after everything, and really did love her.
Harmony didn't doubt it before, but earlier truly showed her how much the woman from Krypton cared for her.

She had heard the expression making love before, but to experience it to the extent that she had, even now she doubted she deserved anyone to love her that much.
Somewhere her doubts must have shown on her face because Kara moved her hand down to her rear and gave her a quick spank making her squeak in surprise.

"No more doubts love. Please?" Harmony looked to the blue eyes of her wife and saw the desperation in that plea that she believed her and in her that she couldn't outright deny.
"I'll try, but . . ." A gentle press of lips to her cheek told her she didn't need to say anymore.
"That's all I ask. I suppose we better shower and get dressed." Kara finished with a grin making Harmony giggle.

"Come on then." Harmony said quietly as she tickled her wife's side making her laugh and let go at the same time.
"You know Harmony." Kara said as they stood and headed for the shower. "I'm glad you're a witch, if you were just a normal person every time we even got slightly frisky, well you'd have to have an injection that temporarily made you invulnerable to me."

Harmony raised her eyebrows at this and – for the first time since her first year at Hogwarts – thanked the fates she was a witch.
They took longer in the bathroom than strictly necessary to make absolutely sure everywhere was clean. Twice, but soon descended to the kitchen to see Diana and Clark out of uniform like Kara, Bruce Wayne and Hermione sat with them reading through a rather heave tome. Narcissa was also sat at the table reading through what looked like a fantasy novel.

Harmony blinked and looked again. Yes that was The Bruce Wayne. Playboy Billionaire, Philanthropist Extraordinaire. "No. Way. You mean to tell me YOU'RE the bat?" Harmony blurted out putting the clues together. Bruce simply inclined his head.
"Never saw that coming." Harmony muttered as she sat down.

"So guys, where's everyone else?" Clark looked up and smiled at them as he answered.
"The twins are down the corridor waiting to prank you," Two shouts of "NO FAIR!" were heard from them.
"Everyone else has gone home for now. They said they would come back on August 31st except for McGonagall who said she'd meet you at school.
She also left you a warning, it seems the 'Old Whiskered Wastrel' has managed to keep his post as Headmaster and Chief Warlock, but was dismissed from the ICW because of his actions in Gringotts."

"Also," Bruce said looking at Harmony in a way that had her worried. "I investigated the Dursley's like I was asked. . .

-Flashback-

Batman watched the house he had tracked Harmony's relatives to and was currently stood behind the tree in the garden in the shade.
He waited until the lights all went out before making his silent stealthy way to the back door.
He had the lock jimmied in seconds and was soon in the kitchen.

Looking around he noticed how it was obsessively clean – even Alfred would have said this was too much.

As he made his way he checked through the draws and cupboards of the kitchen first. Soon he found a small lock box with Petunia's name across the top.
Quickly picking the lock he opened it to reveal the contents. There must have been three thousand pounds in that box, along with some names and addresses and photographs of Harmony.

Growling at what these photo's revealed as to the type of person holding the camera he clenched his fist. Slowly he closed the lockbox and replaced it exactly where he found it making note of its location for when he tipped off the police.

He carefully made his way from the kitchen to the living room where he spied a small cupboard under the stairs. Remembering what he'd seen of the locations in those photos he opened it to look inside.
There on the floor was a thin cot mattress with a blood stained blanket.
On the wall drawn in crayon were three stick figures.

The labelling said it all.
'Mummy Harmony Daddy' above the three was the word 'Heaven.'
Shaking in fury at what he'd found thus far he doubted the Dursley's would escape prosecution but he feared for what more he would find.

Closing the door he made his way to the stairs, his foot catching on something poking out from under the couch, kneeling down to investigate, he saw it was a leather-bound handle of some description.
Pulling it out he found himself holding a home-made Cat o' Nine tails. In the wood was engraved 'Happy 5
th Birthday Freak'

Now truly frightened of anything else he'd find at this place he was not sure he wanted to continue.
Not even the Joker would do this to a child – in fact hearing about it may scare the Clown-Prince of Crime Sane!

He replaced the . . . item from where he found it before making his way upstairs where he could hear the distinct sounds of three people snoring.
He first went in the bathroom and was relieved to find nothing untoward in that room.
Next he saw a room with a cat-flap at the bottom and way too many locks to be reasonable.

Going in he saw a bed with another threadbare mattress and three barely usable blankets.
But what was telling was the slight shine on the bedframe in the light that said of cloth being repeatedly tied there. If this was indicative of what he thought had happened . . .

He soon shone a UV torch on the bed and found traces of blood there as well.
Taking a deep breath he carried on moving about the room to see what he could find. As he moved around he felt a floorboard creak and looked down to see one popping out.

Reaching down he lifted it to see a photo album with moving pictures inside of a red haired woman who he recognised as his eyes went wide. A brown haired man was holding a toddler. Realising this was Harmony's photo album he pulled a water and damage proof bag from his utility belt and slipped the book in and carefully slid the window open before levering the bag up and over on to the roof.

He left that room and carefully made his way down to the hall to the master bedroom.
Slipping the door open he took a brief look around and saw once more the room was compulsively clean.
Taking his analgesic spray out, he moved over to the bed and sprayed it in the adult Dursley's faces.
Finished and happy in the knowledge that they wouldn't wake he started searching the room.

To say the evidence he found of physical and psychological abuse he found hidden in the safe within the wardrobe was . . . sickening would not be enough.
As he went through the photos and records he had to constantly restrain himself from breaking these people's necks.

Another small bit of evidence he could use was the doctored books for the local Grunnings Drill Office here. He owned Wayne Enterprises which had brought that company five years ago. It was time the Little Whinging office had a visit from Bruce Wayne.

Carefully replacing the evidence so it didn't look tampered he closed everything before he decided to see what he could find about the boy.
He saw a flashing lights light coming from under the window and raised an eyebrow.
TV at this time in the morning when he was snoring?

Nevertheless he slipped the door and went in. What he saw on the TV would stay with him for his life, there was Dudley forcibly violating his obviously underage and unwilling cousin. With a growl he threw a batarang at the screen exploding it as he turned and sprayed the stirring waste of space on the bed with the analgesic knocking him straight out.

He stole out the house sickened by what he'd found. He had never until that day come close to killing on a simple investigation.
In two days Bruce Wayne would show up at Grunnings. At the same time the house would be raided by the police. The Dursley's life would be ruined, he would see to it.

It only took a moment to retrieve the album from the roof for him before he hit the button on his belt and the batplane was hovering above him to take him back to London.

-End Flashback-

"I investigated the Dursley's like I was asked. I won't go into details but I promise you this. Your cousin will pay." The way Harmony flinched at the word cousin had the rest around the table obviously worried.
"W – What a – about v – v – Vernon." She asked quietly looking to the table tears falling from her face.

"What he – he did that to you too?!" Bruce growled out.
Harmony's singular nod was all the confirmation everyone around the table needed.
"He only did that once but threatened . . . repeats if I didn't b – behave. D – Dudley m – more t – times . . ." She felt Kara's arm come around her shoulders and pull her into her embrace.

-o.O.O.o-

Diana looked to the young woman who was currently leaning into Kara wondering how she had turned out to be the sweet caring person she was with that hanging over her head.
Then she remembered something Clark had told her back at the watchtower. The Headmaster of her school knew.

These thoughts passed through her mind faster than a blink before she looked to Bruce and nodded.
That was when she knew that he would take her with him as his 'Secretary' when he ruined these . . . these. . . She lost her train of thought in her rage.

She watched as Bruce stood up and stepped out into the yard where he had pressed a button and several sparring drones materialised in front of him. Nodding she went out to join him in turning these drones to scrap parts.

It took them half an hour and many, many drones before they calmed and stepped back inside. When they did it was obvious Harmony had recovered some as she was speaking.
"I'm okay now Kara, it was a couple years ago. I sometimes have bad dreams; that's all." Harmony was saying quietly.

"Be that as it may, you will be avenged of this." Diana said as she stepped up to them while Bruce went to his briefcase. Diana noticed he made an effort to appear unthreatening, which was a lot easier when he was just Bruce. He reached into the case and pulled out a brown book with yellowing pages and slid it along the table to Harmony.

She looked down and the way her face lit up Diana knew he'd done the right thing as she pulled the book close and opened the page. There on the page was a young woman with long Auburn hair and the deepest emerald eyes she had ever seen.

What made Diana flinch was she recognised the woman. How. The. Hell. Was Shayera in this photo? Where were her wings? She was stood with a man who had an easy smile with his messy brown hair and glasses. In between them, being held on top of a black dog was a little baby girl with a shock of deepest ebony hair and emerald eyes. It was Harmony as a baby.

Diana knew Shayera had no memory of her past beyond three or four years ago and now to find this. It was an open secret among the League. Never ask Hawk-Girl about her past – unless you liked pain. Looking about the room she noticed that the twins were stood in the doorway of the kitchen to the rest of the house. However it was with something Diana never thought she'd see having come to know the red head pranksters – they both had serious expressions on their faces; one caught hers and Bruce's eye and nodded to down the corridor.

Nodding she got up and followed Bruce a moment behind as the rest started a small talk about the plans to visit the Kent Farm.
"When you go after the Dursley's we want in." One of the twins nodded. "Our jokes are fun for wizards, but for Muggles." With that he threw a small disc over his shoulder.

It flashed and was in the living room was now a swamp. The other one flicked his wand and it disappeared. Bruce shook his head though.
"Sorry. But I've already started the ball rolling on them. However if you're interested I would like to do a deal on buying some things off you. . ." Diana groaned. Batman with wizards pranks, the watchtower was doomed.

-o.O.O.o-

Bruce stepped out of the limousine in front of the Grunnings building before turning and helping Diana out.
They had decided to make this an 'unannounced visit.' So that people's reactions would be more honest as they entered the reception area, they saw the receptionist hurriedly grab the phone and say something quietly before she put it back down and talking to Bruce.

"The boss will be down in just a moment Mr Wayne."

Five minutes later the Manager of the office came in and stepped forwards to greet him.
"Mr Wayne, I'm sorry we didn't get the notification of your visit. Please come in." Bruce nodded as he held his arm out for Diana to take; as she did they followed the manager up to the meeting room he had quickly cleared. They took one side of a triangular table as did the manager leaving the side closest the door free. Perfect.

Bruce had timed his arrival just as Vernon was about to try and negotiate a contract according to the diary, therefore his meeting would be late. They would see him soon enough though.

Once they were in the office Bruce and Diana sat down as she laid the briefcase she carried on the desk and took several account logs out before handing them to the manager. These logs detailed all payments to Grunnings Little Whinging from several companies' files.
The other papers showed deposits of considerably less amounts by the same companies – all had the same Sales Representative sign off on them. V. Dursley.

The manager's face paled as he looked up the dates on these forms, they went back to before Wayne Enterprises had brought Grunnings due to the company going into administration for low profits. That these low profits at the time were coming from this office when the manager here now was just a sales rep himself, he was easily able to connect the dots.

"Excuse me I think we need to see what a soon to be former employee has to say about this." Getting up he moved to the door and opened it sticking his head out the door before bellowing down the corridor.
"DURSLEY GET IN HERE!"

Turning he returned to his seat, and sat as the three watched the door.
When it opened Vernon stepped in with his usual 'Business Smile' looking confident that nothing was wrong. How wrong he was.

"Take a seat Mr Dursley. Bruce said in a cold tone refusing the hand that was held out to him. It would be a cold day in hell before he shook this individual's hand – if ever.
"So, how can I help sir?" Vernon said looking to his boss.
"You can explain to Mr Wayne and his secretary here." He stopped a moment to indicate Bruce and Diana as Vernon's face paled.

"How these figures can be true." He slid the sheets across the desk for Vernon to see.
Bruce was wondering how it was possible the obese man was still breathing with how ashen his face went, before it regained a bit of colour as Vernon tried a scoff and spoke.

"Obviously the banks made a mistake." He said.
Bruce shook his head and reached towards Diana who was looking at Vernon with a hard gaze, if he read her right she was calculating how hard a throw it would take to send him through a wall. Vernon obviously picked up on their hostility as he gulped when they showed the manager more papers.

These were from two banks. Vernon owned an account in the name Grunings in one, which is where all the bills were paid. The second showed withdrawals from that bank in cash – to the exact amounts that were then deposited to the proper Grunnings account. All the dates and amounts matched.

"I – I – I well you see. . ." Vernon stuttered out.
Bruce finally took one more sheet of paper from Diana before sliding it across to Vernon. It was a letter of Resignation that just needed his signature.
"You can both resign and leave peacefully. Today. Or we have Security escort you out loudly. Today – your choice." Bruce said coldly watching as Vernon with a trembling hand signed the paper.
"Now get out and clear your desk." Bruce ordered. Vernon looked to his boss who he'd watched promoted over him with a pleading look. All he did was look away from the man.
Climbing out the chair, after four attempts, Vernon waddled out the room.

Bruce turned to the manager and thanked him for his time.
"Think nothing of it Mr Wayne, I wish other Multibillion Corporation Chiefs were as valiant as you for us small companies under the umbrella." He said as he showed Bruce and Diana out after she informed him they really had no more business with them.

After they got in the car Bruce turned to Diana as he spoke again.
"Do you think Wonder Woman and Batman might be needed to help out at Number four?" Diana smirked as she lifted the false bottom from her briefcase and took out her Tiara.
"Let's find out" she said.
"Alfred, the park near number four Privet Drive." Bruce called out.
"Very good sir." Was all the answer he got as Diana finished removing her business suit under which was her Heroine outfit.

-o.O.O.o-

An hour later Batman and Wonder Woman were in the street opposite the house out of sight of the front door, as two police cars sirens blaring screeched to a halt outside it in response to a tip off from an 'Anonymous Source'

The police got out their car and knocked on the door of the house and Vernon's angry bellow could be heard from where they were stood.

-o.O.O.o-

Vernon's day had gone terribly, he had just returned home swearing about losing his job as the no good banks had reported him.
He had just sat in his TV Chair after containing his temper and ordering Petunia to bring him his brandy bottle.

No sooner than she did than the door-bell rang.
"WHO THE HELL WOULD THAT BE AT THIS TIME! HAVEN'T YOU PEOPLE GOT DECENT JOBS TO GO..." His rant was cut off as he pulled the door open to see four police officers at the door with one holding out a piece of paper as he spoke.

"Yes I do sir. I am here to serve this search warrant. Now will you kindly stand aside and let me carry out this writ." The officer asked in a polite, but firm tone.

"I most certainly WILL NOT! You have NO RIGHT!" Vernon bellowed.
"Mr Dursley, that writ gives me the right. Now if you please." He said, as the other officers moved their hands near their truncheons.

"Get off my PROPERTY!" Vernon all but bellowed as he charged the officers catching them off guard and successfully using his bulk to knock them back. He went to slam the door closed when a grey muscle-bound arm and black clad hand suddenly stopped him.

"Who the hell are you?" Vernon demanded to the rest of the figure known the world over as Batman.

Vernon was surprised when with a little force Batman forced the door open as the Police ran in knocking Vernon to the floor before cuffing and arresting him for blocking a warrant along with assault of a police officer. Petunia was screaming her head off at the intrusion but was soon silenced as the police took her into custody and moved them both out the house so they could start to search it.

-o.O.O.o-

WPC Poppy Rose had been on the force for ten years, and had earned the nickname Flower amongst her colleagues thanks to her parents naming her. She had been given the task of investigating the boys' room.

She had already pulled on a pair of rubber gloves when she pulled open a draw. What she saw sent her gorge rising up her throat as she fled the room.
In there were pictures of a little girl no older than her niece being whipped bloody.

She managed to make it outside before she lost control of her stomach and the once pristine grass now sported many colours.

She felt a gentle hand rubbing her back as she spied a red pair of boots by her.
As she finished returning her food for the past three days she looked up to see Wonder Woman standing there helping her. The heroine was even holding a glass of water out for her.

She shakily took the glass and rinsed her mouth out before spitting the water out and taking a proper drink.
"Thank you. You wouldn't believe . . .Oh. My. God." The police officer fainted as she saw the bagged and tagged brutal weapon that was the whip.

-o.O.O.o-

Wonder Woman caught the officer and turned to the one with the whip.
"Where can I put her?" The police officer indicated for her to follow him to the car where he opened the back seat and had her lay the officer down.

"Is there anything I or Batman can help with?" Wonder Woman asked already knowing the answer.
"I'm sorry, but no. Batman was running a risk just holding the door for us but because he didn't enter he's good. Besides with what we've found so far. . ." The officer's face turned grim.
"I don't think they'll be out of jail for a long, long time. Its cases like those people who make me wish they brought back corporal punishment.

One of the nosier neighbours had come over and spoke in a nasally voice.
"Has their brat of a niece finally gone too far? They always said she was good for nothing you know."
The police officers face went stony as he turned to the woman.
"Can I have your statement on that?" The woman nodded. "Oh yes – anything that will see justice done." The police man nodded. "It will be."
Wonder Woman knew the woman thought her statement would be in a case against Harmony, not the Dursley's but couldn't say anything so kept her peace.

-o.O.O.o-

Dudley Dursley was having a boring day at Smeltings. He wished for something exciting to happen, anything really especially if it would shut this droning teacher up.
Looking to the clock he saw it was nearly time to go home. Good, he could watch his favourite DVD again after his father brought him a new TV.

The door to the room suddenly opened and two police officers stepped in.
Now this was more like it! He wasn't even worried when the teacher singled him out. In his small mind he thought they wanted to ask him to help demonstrate something as he made his way up to the front.

"Dudley Dursley?" Dudley nodded.
"You're under arrest for multiple counts of rape against your cousin" The police officer said before cuffing the boy, who then proved his lack of intelligence when he asked them. "How did you know? I told her to never tell!"
Those words in front of all his class and the officers sealed his conviction. He did demonstrate something that day to the class.

How to get arrested.

That night Harmony was running about hers and Kara's bedroom trying to pack everything she even remotely thought she'd need at the farm while Clark was stood in the doorway chuckling.
"No Harmony you won't need the ball gown, and no you won't need that . . . or that . . . NO WAY!" He fell over laughing as she grabbed a jar of Gillyweed after saying what it did.

"Harmony," He gasped out much to his cousins' humour who was stood behind him. "The farm is in Kansas! No major . . . bodies . . . water!" He managed to gasp out between laughs.
"Oh yeah," Harmony said blushing before looking to her nearly overfull suitcase.
"So do you think I've packed enough?" She asked.

Hermione took this moment to add her thoughts as she poked her head into the room on her way to her own.
"I'll say, you packed more than me. Books included!" Harmony looked to her best friend and shook her head as she spoke. "Impossible." Before poking her tongue out.

"Hey that's mine!" Kara said floating over to them and locking her lips with Harmony a moment, sucking on her tongue before they broke apart.

Clark by now had regained his equilibrium although he did look a bit flushed with all his laughing.
"So, you all set for the flight?" Kara said with a smile. Harmony nodded and flicked her wand to the suitcase. Closing and shrinking it with the charms Hermione had taught her earlier.

Hermione had gone to retrieve her own suitcase and came back looking a little downcast.
Harmony stepped over to her and placed a hand on her arm.
"Hey you okay?" Hermione nodded a little before she started crying all of a sudden.
"I miss them." She gasped out as Harmony pulled her into her embrace.

"Shh, I know, I know." She said quietly walking over to the couch sitting down as Hermione curled up against her. Kara sat next to them holding Hermione's hand as Clark looked on, face stoic.

"Why Harmony, Why did they take them from meeeee!" Hermione wailed as her loss hit her again.
As her cries rose in volume no-one who could hear them was unaffected.
Here was an innocent young woman who'd lost everything simply because of who she was, but they couldn't even say that else she'd constantly blame herself.

Harmony with her own eyes suspiciously wet gently rocked Hermione in her arms as the distraught bookworm cried out her pain again. Soon it was obvious to most this was going to be a long one as she buried her face in Harmony's shoulder.

"It's not faaaiirr! They never hurt ANYONE!" Hermione's muffled cries still heard by the super-powered beings were easily understood.
Harmony met Kara's eyes with a silent plea. She didn't know what to do to help.
Kara mouthed the words. "Just hold her." Harmony nodded and did, she held her for the whole emotional storm until Hermione eventually fell asleep in her arms.

Clark stepped forwards when they ascertained she was truly asleep and gently lifted her from Harmony who then shrunk Hermione's suitcase before pocketing it along with her own.
"I'm going to have a quick word with Narcissa and the twins" Harmony said as Clark lay Hermione down on Harmony's bed.

"Okay, Clark and I will get changed into our suits. Batman, Wonder Woman and Lois are meeting us at the farm." Kara told her.
Harmony nodded and followed Clark out the room, as he turned to go to the guest room he was using, she headed down to the kitchen.

When she went in she saw something that completely shocked her. The twins were studying, and Narcissa was tutoring them. Quietly she approached to see it was about finances. Shaking her head she coughed slightly to get their attention.

"Okay, me and Hermione are ready, we'll be back in a week. Narcissa will you need anything while we're gone?" The elder woman shook her head with a smile before she spoke.
"Just have a good week, if I need anything I'll ask these two reprobates." She said indicating the twins.

They just nodded as Harmony looked to them before she spoke.
"Guy's look, I know you're having a lot of trouble with your mother and father at the moment. The room you two are using is yours if you want it." The twins looked at her their jaws dropping.
"You really mean that?" One of them asked as the other nodded and pointed to the one that spoke.
"Yeah, just don't completely destroy the house while I'm gone and stay out the library okay."

They nodded but the one she'd mentally tagged as 'Fred' this time spoke.
"Okay, but why did you go out your way to warn about the library?"
Harmony shook her head in surprise that they didn't understand and nodded to Narcissa.
"Simple. Even if I went in there the Black family magic could react badly to you. I'm pretty sure you want to avoid St. Mungo's." The twins paled at the thought of that and nodded rapidly.

"Okay then, I'm going." Harmony said as she turned to leave.
"Dobby and/or Winky will be on call if you need them." She finished as she left the room and made her way up to the rooftop exit.

Stood there was Superman with the unconscious Hermione in his arms and Supergirl next to him waiting.
Harmony quickly cast a warming charm on herself and Hermione, before she stepped close to Supergirl. The superhero gently picked the witch up bridal style and took to the air with Superman keeping level.

Harmony was glad of the warming charms she'd cast as they got higher in the air, before long they were flying at a steady Mach two above the clouds. As the cloud cover left the view on the horizon as the sun seemed to rise was beautiful.

Harmony marvelled at how the sea seemed to reflect the light like millions of diamonds on the surface against the curve of the globe.
Looking to over her shoulder she saw Hermione had woken up and was in similar awe of the view.
She turned to look up to her wife who's long blonde hair was flying behind her as the sun was reflected off it, making it look like liquid gold streaming out behind her.
Harmony leaned up to kiss her on the cheek as she before snuggling close, enjoying the quiet flight with her family and best friend.

-o.O.O.o-

Supergirl glanced down to the woman in her arms after the kiss and loved how her eyes reflected the light, her green eyes normally bright as shining emeralds had turned to ethereal fire.
Harmony had pulled her hair into a tight ponytail for the flight instead of her normal black hairband to save it flying into Supergirl's face.

She could not believe how much she had come to care for the woman in such a short amount of time and prayed that this war the league had been pulled into would soon be over.

Leaning down she returned the kiss to the top of Harmony's head before once more gazing forwards on their flight path. Although thanks to their powers the meta-humans could do much more than most, they still had to look far ahead in case they had to change their flight path.

She was also grateful that the two women they were carrying were witches whose magic would help them in certain situations. 'Like making love' Supergirl smiled at the thought.

Glancing down as she felt Harmony's arms loosen, she wasn't surprised to see she'd fallen asleep in her arms. She'd once confessed it was where she felt safest. Three hours later the coast came into view and Supergirl could just make out Superman's quiet voice pointing out different landmarks and sites of historical interest to Hermione.
His voice had been almost constant once she'd awoke; Supergirl understood why of course, he was doing his best to keep her mind occupied.

After another hour she gently bent her head down looking at their flight path through her lashes as she brought her lips to Harmony's ear and spoke.
"Harmony honey, wake up, you'll want to see this."

She felt Harmony rousing as she spoke opening her eyes to see the sunlight reflecting from the farm fields, the sunlight of late afternoon as opposed to late evening in England, was shining in rays arcing up to the sky, diffusing against some of the clouds and painting the skyline with many hues of reds, pinks and yellows.

Slowly they descended as they came to spy the main road that led to Smallville, and before long they were landing in front of a large farmhouse in the middle of acres of fields.
"Welcome to the Kent family Farm." Supergirl said as she let Hermione down to stand.

"Ma, Pa! We're here!" Superman called out as they walked to the house.
Moments later an older man with silver streaking through his hair stepped out waving them in.
"Don't just stand there! It was a long flight I'll bet, come in and grab some food. Lois is in the kitchen with Martha" He said.

Supergirl smiled and gently guided Harmony forwards with her arm about the dark haired woman's shoulders. As she stepped in she saw Superman guiding Hermione in to the kitchen behind them.
Before long the two witches were sat at the table before Superman left the room.

Supergirl kissed Harmony's cheek before she whispered.
"I'm just going to get changed." As Harmony nodded and blushed looking to the table.

-o.O.O.o-

Lois smiled to the two women before she brought her coffee to her lips and taking a sip.
Settling the cup down she looked to Harmony who let out a big yawn.
"Hey, you okay there?" She chuckled.

"Err; I kind of fell asleep on the way over. Sorry." Harmony mumbled looking to the table.
"Harmony is it?" Lois asked as the woman nodded.
"You don't need to apologise for being tired okay, you're hours ahead of us, it probably feels like it should be late night to you." Harmony blushing nodded again.

Suddenly the brunette spoke up looking at Lois.
"Sorry but are you THE Lois Lane, the reporter for Daily Planet?" Hermione blurted out.
Lois couldn't hold the small chuckle at that. "Yes, yes I am, but I'm surprised you've heard of me over in England."
"Are you kidding? The Daily Planet's one of the most honest papers in both the muggle and wizard world! Not like the stupid rag we have!"

Lois raised her eyebrow at that wondering how bad a newspaper had to be for someone still in their teens to notice.
"What do you mean? The paper can't be THAT bad. Can it?" Hermione looked to Harmony for permission before she continued. When she nodded Hermione took a deep breath.

"What passes for factual reporting for the 'Daily Prophet' you wouldn't even consign to the gossip columns. Literally one week to the next Harmony is either a Heroine or Dark Lady depending on what the Ministry want people to believe." Looking to her friend Hermione asked.
"What was the last headline you saw?"

Harmony snorted.
"Girl-Who-Lives Fights Dark Lord in Ministry. Saviour or future Dark Lady?" Lois tilted her head as she thought on the title.
"So you're currently fighting a Dark Lord but with the power you 'May' get they're worried you'd just replace him?"

Hermione nodded.
"To the point that at the moment we know if she defeated the Dark Lord today, the next permanent address you'd have for her is Azkaban for her 'murdering' him."
Lois shook her head at this how any people anywhere could be so ignorant astounded her.

"So what about you?" Lois asked Hermione as Clark stepped in with Kara behind him.
At Clark's warning look Lois got worried especially as the brunette suddenly looked to the floor.
"I have nowhere else to go." She whispered her shoulders tensing.

Kara soon came to sit next to Hermione pushing her chair close as Harmony did the other side.
"Hermione," Lois watched as Harmony spoke quietly getting the girls advice while Clark sat next to her.

"You do, you have your home at Grimmauld with us." She indicated herself and Kara before she continued. "You have your vault that will let you get any house you want. That and you're intelligent enough to do what you want in this world." Hermione smiled a small sad smile as she nodded.

The rest of the evening was spent in light conversation until it was too late to stay up for the new arrivals. Kara smiled as she picked an unconscious Hermione up and took her to the guest room before returning for Harmony to take her to their room.

Lois smiled as she saw the tenderness and care in the blondes face as she looked at her wife.
Getting up she pulled Clark to his feet as they made their way to their bedroom as well.

Tomorrow when they were all rested would be when they had the full story, one for family only – no newspapers.

A/N 1: For those that skipped – Batman found and reported the evidence of the Dursley's crimes arranging for the police to raid the house, during the visit he located and retrieved Harmony's photo album.

A/N 2: Liked it? Hated it? Let me know.
Constructive criticism welcome.
Flames will be ignored.
