Chapter Two
Scarlett
I was half tempted to run and I was half tempted to throw a punch at Ricky's face, but I stood rooted to the spot as I locked eyes with Ricky. Alison and Lydia looked just as stunned, except Lydia looked like she was going to throw a bitch fit - last time they saw Ricky, they were rescuing me from the Hunters because they were using me to get to Derek and were planning on breaking the imprint. The only way to break an imprint was for an Alpha or his mate had to die, which means that they were going to kill Derek or kill me to break our connection. Alison glanced hesitantly at me as Mr Nicolas cleared his throat to begin the lecture.
"What should we do?" Alison breathed, but I had no answer and I knew there was only thing we could do.
"Act normal, don't do anything," I told her quietly "go sit down, I'll be fine."
Lydia and Alison both gave looks of hesitation before leaving to sit at the front of the class and I reluctantly took my seat beside Ricky. I avoided Ricky's gaze, keeping my eyes focused on the board in front of me. True the last time I'd seen Ricky, I made his nose bleed with a good punch and I didn't trust Ricky at all - I didn't trust any of the Hunters. They had attacked me and my friends more than once and I'm sure they had something to do with Uncle Mason going missing.
"No hello?"
God, I forgot what an arrogant bastard he was.
"What do you want?" I hissed angrily, only sparing Ricky a glance and returning my gaze to my notes.
"I wanted to apologies for… everything that's happened." Ricky said softly and I couldn't help the bitter laugh that escaped my lips "I'm serious, what the Hunters did… it wasn't right."
"Took you long enough to figure that out," I huffed, turning to glare at him and couldn't find it in my heart to believe his words were sincere "do you know where Mason is?"
Ricky shook his head, but I was expecting that response - even if Ricky knew where Mason was he wouldn't tell me.
"I can find out," Ricky said quietly, this suddenly capturing my attention and I wanted to kick myself for allowing myself to let him get to me. I wanted to find Mason, but Derek had promised me he would rescue my uncle and there was no chance in hell that I was going to trust Ricky. I turned away from him, letting my brown hair fall across my face as I stared down at my notebook - the page blank and my eyes not really focused on what I was seeing. My mum was going to be coming here tonight, not knowing that her brother-in-law was missing or her daughter was in love with a werewolf. How the hell was I going to keep all this a secret from her when I was sitting next to a Hunter that kidnapped me and there were werewolves out their who wanted me dead.
No, I could handle this - there's nothing I can't handle and I wasn't going to betray my friends by asking for help from people who wanted to kill them.
"I don't want your help!" I said firmly, making sure my words were as strong and sure as they were suppose to be "we're not friends, got it?"
"I just wanna help,"
"Well don't!"
Ricky jumped slightly as my harsh words finally seemed to register with him, but he simply pushed a folded piece of paper towards me and got to his feet as the bell rang.
"Well, I'm here if you want to talk." Ricky said softly before slinging his rucksack over his shoulder and walking out the room. I reluctantly opened the paper to find a phone number with RICKY written at the top. Fat chance I'll ever need this! I thought in annoyance as i crumpled the note and shoved it into my pocket.
Derek
I stepped into the steaming shower, letting the warm water relax my tense muscles as I washed my body clean. To be honest, this shower would be a hell of a lot better if Scar was here to join me, but I knew she wasn't ready for anything more than a kiss and I was going to let her decide when she's ready to take our relationship to the next level.
But I had more serious things to worry about: find Scar's uncle (preferably alive), get rid of the Hunters and kill the last of the alpha wolves. This shit wasn't going to be easy, but someone had to do it. As I turned off the shower, I dried myself off with a clean towel while stepping out of the shower and wrapping the towel around my waist.
The sound of footsteps made me freeze and a growl escaped my lips, someone was in my territory!
I silently moved out the bathroom, heading into the hallway and towards the living room where the sound of breathing was clearly audible. My hands instantly turned to claws as I approached the door and shoved it open witch such force the door swung into the nearby wall, but my eyes widening in shock when I saw the person standing there.
"You!"
