Authors note- Hey guys!, I just wanted to add a couple of things before I start this chapter, I forgot to add that the conversation between Finnick and Katniss was supposed to be like the one they had during the bombing in Mockingjay, and also I got a lot of reviews again so that's why I am posting a new chapter and I would have posted earlier but my computer was being weird all day and I just got it back on, its no big deal though because I usually write better at night anyway, well that was all I wanted to say so I hope you enjoy this chapter and again if you like it just leave me a review-Izzy
Finally after what I can only guess has been two weeks I have finally been able to leave the hospital, I was shortly informed that the president of district 13 wanted to speak with me, I am lead out of the room and finally get to venture out into a different parts of district 13. From what I can see it is really impressive, they all are organized in a constant flow of workers and what they have created as their makeshift home is truly amazing, from seeing all they have accomplished after all their suffering is really impressive. I follow behind as I am guided until we finally enter a room, when I walk in the first thing I see is Heavensbee sitting next to a woman that I can only guess is president Coin, when I walk in I don't sit, I stand ready to run if needed, he is defiantly on my list of people who I don't trust and its not only because he didn't save Peeta but because he was once working very close with Snow, too close for my liking. He smiles before he speaks, as if I am the only person he has wanted to see all day "Katniss Everdeen, just the person I wanted to see" he gestures to Coin and introduces me "This is president Coin, we booth have been wanting to meet with you, we have a proposition for you"
"What is it?" it comes out rude but I don't care, he cant just expect me to forgive him so easily after not only keeping me in the dark about this whole operation but for ignoring my one wish, to save Peeta.
"We want you to be the mockingjay"
"The what?"
"The mockingjay, the face of this rebellion, it would entail just doing a couple of what I like to call propos, just something for people to look up to during these times, you are the only one who can tell them the truth about what is really going on in not only the districts but what the capitol has done"
"I'm not exactly the person you want, I'm not exactly in the best circumstances right now"
"We know about the pregnancy Katniss, its something that we can work around and besides you aren't even showing yet and hopefully by the time this is over you wont be" This really hits me hard, I don't know how long this really will go on for, how long Peeta will be captured for.
"I cant do this"
"We cant do this without you Katniss"
"Well then you should have saved Peeta" I spit these words out with venom laced inside and walk out the door, not turning back. I walk back to the hospital room and just sit, refusing to let the tears spill I just focus on the pearl as it rolls around the palm of my hand. That night when I wake up from nightmares and I start reciting things that I know to be true I cant stop myself from adding at the end that I am the mockingjay because while I haven't agreed to anything I know that from the moment I shot that arrow at the roof of the arena I became the mockinjay for everyone, and even though I haven't and don't know if I ever will become the mockingjay I know that for sure that I may be the only hope for some of these people, just like the though of Peeta getting out is the only hope me and our baby has.
Sorry this chapter was a little on the short side but I thought it would be okay since its an extra chapter and I have only planned to post one chapter a weekend. This also is kinda just an in between type chapter that isn't very exciting but important to the rest of the plot, I might just possibly post a new chapter tomorrow or even tonight if I get a couple more reviews, so if you want another chapter asap just give me a review saying so- Izzy
