Moving In

Lucy hummed loudly to herself as she scurried around her room, trying to keep herself from thinking too much about... things. The blonde girl began pulling out the clothes from her dresser and piled them on her bed haphazardly. Then halted midway as she tried to remember where she had put away her suitcase. She quickly turned on her heal as she began pacing her room looking for it when she happened to glance at her bookcase. She had purchased several books since moving to Magnolia...

She would probably need a separate box just to carry those now, she thought as walked to the kitchen to see if she could find a spare box around. Pots, pans, plates, and utensils… would she need to take any of those? She had some really nice sets too...

Ah, but she first needed pack her clothes! The celestial mage scurried back to her dresser to empty out the remainder of her outfits and started pulling out her undergarments. It was silly, but Lucy blushed as she pulled out some of her more risque pieces, and she blushed even more as picked up her more childish ones...

Suitcase! She had to find her suitcase, Lucy remembered, quickly dropping a pair of underwear with little ducks printed on them. "Oh, yeah!" she exclaimed when she finally remembered. She dropped to her knees to look under her bed. Lucy smiled victoriously when she spotted the small, pink object pushed back against the wall, and she crawled forward to grab it from its dusty resting place.

"Hey, Lucy you almost ready?"

Lucy squealed in surprise at the sudden voice and jerked her head up, immediately regretting the action as she hit her head against her wooden bed frame, causing her to yell out in pain. The voice that had surprised her turned to laughter, and she had to hold back curses as she carefully pulled her head up to peak over her bed.

Of course, sitting quite proudly in the middle of her bed, right next to her little mountain of clothes was none other than Natsu, grinning foolishly at Lucy's pouty expression.

"Natsu, what are you doing here?" Lucy chided.

"You have too many clothes Lucy," the pink-haired man said as he fell backwards onto the pile as one would do with a pile of leaves. Lucy tried to keep the blush off her face when she noticed he was laying particularly close to where she had dropped her underwear. He was pointedly ignoring her question.

"I told you I could finish packing on my own," the blond mage said, crossing her arms over her ample chest.

This time it was Natsu's turn to pout. "I want to help," he stated with determination.

Lucy bit her lip anxiously. She hadn't told Natsu, but she had wanted to use the time alone to collect her thoughts and calm her nerves. Was she really feeling nervous? Of course she was. It was a big step after all, moving into her boyfriend's house.

"It's fine, really," Lucy tried, smiling at him. "I have this covered."

Natsu dropped his pout and sat up to stare up at Lucy with his large, pleading eyes. "But you were taking too long..." he muttered with a displeased frown.

And just like that, all of Lucy's nerves were washed away. A giddy grin spread across her lips at the realization that the reason Natsu wanted to help was because he was impatient to have her move in with him.

When Natsu saw Lucy's bright smile, his face reddened, as if knowing he had been discovered. "Alright, let's do this then!" he yelled shooting up off the bed way too eagerly in an attempt to hide his blush. Lucy had to take a step back in surprise at his sudden movements. Natsu then turned his back to her and began lifting up Lucy's bed and turning it towards the open window he had just entered from.

"Woah, woah! Natsu, what are you doing?!" Lucy yelled, her eyes suddenly growing wide.

Natsu turned to look at her as if the answer were so obvious, and Lucy had to duck her head as he swung the large piece of furniture around in his arms. "I'm taking the bed, duh. What does it look like?" He rolled his eyes at her and began turning again to the window. He wasn't about to leave a treasure like Lucy's bed here.

"Use the door!" Lucy yelled as she dodged to the right.

. . .

Natsu and Lucy stood together in front of the sign adorning the walkway, with a bed and two suitcases by their feet. Lucy felt her heart squeeze as she read the newly added name painted onto the cat-shaped post. She looked back up at the quant house she would now call home.

"You did finish cleaning up your- our house like I told you, didn't you?"

"Umm…" Natsu pointedly avoided eye contact.

"Natsu…" Lucy groaned.

Definitely been a long time since I last uploaded anything, but eh, inspiration hit, I have physics homework and research I really don't want to do, so of course this was the perfect time to write. I also change some minor details in the previous chapters.
