New chapter!

[This is a plot point that I felt I should have introduced earlier in the old version of the story so that's why it's now here].

Amber: Thunder and Lightning

"If only I knew back then that I should not have been with Amora. I think that if we looked less alike, I would've been more likely to run."

The sunshine that I thought was all existed is suddenly replaced with dark and scary clouds. The wind picks up, causing Amora's golden hair to slap me right in the face. I can't see much, except for my glowing green hands. Amora lights up her own hands and holds them above my own, emitting a similar magic to mine but hers is eaten by my own. Instantly, her breathing heightens and she looks up at the darkening sky as if she's scared of something coming.

"Amber, stop that," she commands.

I shrug because I don't know what I'm doing so I can't stop it. I have this skill like she does, why isn't she happy about it?

Amora screams in frustration, scaring me as I back away. Instantly, lightning strikes from the sky above, causing me to jump back and scream in pure fear. I'm not sure where to go or what to do, but the moment someone appears, the lightning calms down and so does my magic.

"Stay there," Amora whispers to me, hissing a little.

I nod my head as I stay behind her.

Before us is a tall armoured man who takes enormous and powerful strides to approach us. He holds a hammer in his hands and grips it tightly, a few lightning bolts create a current around the weapon. His hair is almost as golden as hers, contrasting his darker armour and storm. He looks scary and his sharp eyes focus right on Amora as if he's going to send a lightning blast right in her direction.

To stop him, I step out. I move away from behind Amora and stand beside her. Amora looks down at me and for a moment, I think that she's about to scold me for disobeying her but she's grinning. Her eyes flicker towards Thor and when his eyes meet mine, my heart stops as his expression softens up. He doesn't drop his hammer to the ground but places it down gently. My heart rate begins to pick up and I feel a sensation of panic building inside of me. I teeter back towards Amora the longer this man looks at me.

"Don't be scared," Amora says, putting a hand on top of my head as I hug her leg tightly. "I won't let him hurt you. Isn't that right, Thor?"

"Hand the child over, Amora," this other man, Thor commands.

"Why would I ever do such a thing? And don't you dare tell me that it's disobeying the king because I don't bow down to you."

"I'm grateful you don't."

"Does your wife know you're here?"

Thor's expression flickers for a moment before becoming scorn once again. "Stop distracting me."

"Does your wife know that the child exists?"

"Hand her over and we'll change that. You know that you want this, I just won't let it go to the extent that you want."

Unexpectedly, I start to cry. I don't like the sound of any of this. Amora glances down at me and Thor looks guilty, all of a sudden.

"Now look at what you did," Amora tells Thor.

"Oh, as if you've been taking good care of her," Thor fires back. "We both know that she's only alive because you can't change that yourself. I've been here for barely five minutes and can tell that you are not maternal towards her at all. She is only attached to you because she has nobody else and she is a child!"

"Would you really pick a fight with me in front of a child you vow to protect against the will of The Gods?"

Thor calls his hammer and I scream a little. However, he points it directly towards Amora as another storm starts brewing above us.

"Try me," Thor threatens. "Hand the child over, Amora, and I swear that I will let you go unpunished for what you have done to my family."

Amora takes a step towards him and claps her lips, thinking over his offer.

"If only Thor fought harder, not holding back his hits for the sake of my safety at that moment. He wouldn't have caused me any harm because he can't. A little lightning whiplash back then would not have been the end of the world considering the years I had following this moment."
