Esme watched as her father managed to break his way out of his shackles after a couple hilarious failures she had the front row seat to.
However when Esme heard the door open to the shop she instantly alerted her father to hide.
As they hid together behind the far corner of the shop they heard the young man enter the shop checking his supplies as he went and putting back the donkey luckily for them he didn't seem to suspect anything amiss yet.
"Exactly where I left you." He said his footsteps walking by the drunk passed out man she assumed he was talking about. "Not where I left you." Esme's eyes widened she quickly peeked out the corner her eyes widened he when she saw the still burning rod her dad had left out
"Dammit." She quietly hissed out when the man spotted the hat.
When the man reached over to touch it her father flipped his sword out swatting the mans hand away and giving her a look that clearly said. "Stay here."
As Jack stepped out the man began circling him. "You're the one their looking for the pirate."
He said that word with such disdain Esme almost flinched.
Jack however was unfazed. "You seem familiar have I threatened you before."
Esme sorta tuned out after that she was pulled out of her daze though the second she heard the clashing of swords.
She watched in worry as the young man fighting her father gained the upper hand her hand itching toward her sword she stopped however knowing her father would give her an earful if she intervened and she wasn't up for experiencing that again.
The duel came to a quick end when Jack used an improvisational trick.
"You cheated." The young man said.
"Pirate." She heard her father say.
"Move you're between me and my way out." Her father said before calling her out of hiding.
"Esme time to go." He called she brusquely left her hiding place and confidently strode up to her father who was currently busy holding a gun to the young man and trying to threaten their means of escape.
"I cannot just stand by and let you both escape." The young man said giving Esme a fierce glare when he saw her mocking smirk.
She knew her father didn't want to shoot him especially with that gun it wasn't meant for him. Though her father was getting desperate while she was getting anxious when the sound of soldiers pounding of the door reached their ears.
"This shot was not meant for you." He said with immense emotion flashbacks of the worst kind running through his head. Esme would have comforted him had she not been busy dealing with the old drunk sneaking up behind them about to hit her father in the head with a bottle. Esme got to him first grabbing the arm with the bottle and twisting it behind him until he there was a sickening crack that echoed throughout the room. She slammed her elbow into his head with all her strength grinning when he fell to the ground uncurious.
The young man was staring at her in shock... And something else she couldn't quite place.
Her father however was again unfazed completely used to this sort of turn of events he gave a flippant comment over his shoulder to her. "Showing off are we Esme."
"Just looking out for us like always Dad." Esme sighed
This got Jacks attention he glanced at her right as the door finally gave way to the soldiers who were striding towards him. "And I will always protect you."
The guards grabbed his arms and began to lead him out Esme let them escort her out as well without a fuss.
They were stopped however by the commandeer who ordered the guards to search her and confiscate her weapons.
After her weapons were confiscated they were promptly thrown in jail
Esme rolled her eyes as she watched the men in the cell across from them try to break out by calling the dog who had the keys to the cells come to them.
"You can call all you want but that dog is never going to move." Jack said his eyes barley visable under his hat.
The men paused on the other side glaring at him. "Well excuse us for not resigning ourselves to the gallows just yet."
That was when they heard it cannon fire but not just any cannon fire Esme knew those cannons it couldn't be could it?
"I know those cannons." Jack said climbing up the bench and looking through the small window.
"It's the black pearl." He said only to be cut off by a cannon hitting the othe jail cell creating a large hole for the prisoners to escape through.
One man stayed behind for a moment long enough to say. "Sorry friends your no manner of luck at all." Before fleeing.
There was a crash as the door to the jail was broken into two tall men rushing in. "This isn't the armory." One of them said only to spot them in the cell.
"Well look if it isn't Jack Sparrow... And his daughter Esme the last time we saw ether of you, you were left to die on that island.
"A special level of hell is reserved for betrayers and mutineers." Jack said only for one of the men to grab his throat his arm turning skeletal in the moonlight.
"That's interesting so there is a curse." Jack said looking at the skeletal hand.
"You know nothing of hell." The man said before releasing Jack and leaving them alone.
Esme shared a look with her father both of them thinking the same thing "Revenge." Esme begged to differ however on their statement that they knew nothing of hell they had enough traumatic experiences to last a lifetime and give them a little taste of what hell is like.
