"MONTAGUE!"
"What the hell?" Lara looks behind her, a bit shocked by the fact someone shouted her name.
Right behind her stand David. Looking slighty mad.
"What is it David?" Lara asks annoyed, because her friends were just going to tell her what the whole prophecy story was.
"Yeah what is it David?" Nick repeats.
"We were supposed to start that thing fifteen minutes ago and you are still eating ice-cream with you little friends. You should be happy I didn't go to Marty with this."
"Fuck, yes you are right. But can't it wait a little bit longer? We (Lara points her finger around the little circle of people) have to talk about something important".
"No, come on, you can talk to them later on. We have to start right now!".
David seizes Lara's arm and lifts here from her chair.
"Damn, take it easy I'm coming. We are going to talk later about it, I will send an owl or something to you!". She yells while walking away with David leaving her two friends behind.
"What an asshole that guy, I never understood what she saw in him." Dan says while looking at their friend walking away and clearly in a discussion.
"Yeah, well you never now what happens behind closed doors…"
"I don't want to know what Lara does behind closed doors" Dan laughs. "I guess they just really annoy each other since they broke up."
Meanwhile the couple that is walking away.
"You son of a bitch, you know not to come to me when I am with my friends from school. They won't take me in to the ministry because they know me to well. They will not help you in any way, and you know that."
"Merlins Beard Lara, we have a job to do. We should have been preparing for thirty minutes by now and you are still blaming me for getting you. Do I have to tell you that we have a difficult job to handle, with just the two of us?"
"No you don't, we have to steal the painting from that little bastard at the Runespoor house. Because he stole it from you in the first place. What I don't get is the fact that you want that ugly painting back to begin with." Lara sighs.
"Just because…"
"O no, no, no, no. You are going to tell me right now. Or you can do this all alone without my help."
"Okay, just let's get to the Den and I will explain."
"You better have a good explanation."
They walk in silence to the Den. When they reach it they get to the top floor. There are three offices here. One for Marty, one for David and one empty one. Marty and David both grew up in Knockturn alley at an orphanage. After the battle of Hogwarts their parents didn't come back. Their parents were death eaters, both boys were only a year old at this time. They grew up together, no family but both a huge fortune. They had to wait until they were eighteen years old before they could get to it. By then they learnt themselves to use magic, roamed the alley and were notorious for getting into trouble. And got a little gang going. They got a business going and when they were eighteen they started a real business in the alley. They collected the orphan kids that were old enough and bought the Den to live in. The business was a kind of private investigation office. They would investigate men who were cheating on there wives, but would also steal stuff back from other gangs or thieves and bring them back to the rightful owner, collecting huge amounts of money from those owners. David was the financial mastermind and Marty was the tactics guy, he know exactly who to get and how to do their assignments.
Lara and David sit down at the desk in the middle of the room.
"The painting we're going to get back is a painting that had great value to Marty and me." David says.
"You always say that."
"Let me finish. Marty and I are stakeholders from this business. That bastard from the Runespoors wants the paper that has all the information on it. We still don't know why. He thinks he can get our shares or anything, which of course he can't."
"And he thinks it is in the painting. What an idiot."
"It is."
"WHAT? Why would you put it in a painting? That is the stupidest thing ever."
"We know he had somebody who can open any lock. So the save wouldn't be save. And the painting is the most ugly thing ever, so we thought he would never find out."
"You could have put in one of your saves in Gringotts, it would have been save there."
"Well, I don't believe that. That Potter guy broke out with stuff and a dragon so."
"They have changed a lot since then, come on it is more that twenty years ago."
"It doesn't matter now, does it? We just have to get the painting back. We know where it is in the building. We just need a plan to execute tonight and get the painting back. Marty had made a plan, we just need to talk it through and do the thing. Just listen and do what you are good at."
"Fine."
