Characters: CastielxReader
Word count: 1, 658
Warnings: None. I tried to keep it sweet instead of graphic.
Summary: After inadvertently putting you in the friend zone, Castiel tried to right his wrong. (I suck at summaries if you can't tell, sorry.)
"I did what to her?" Castiel asked making Dean laugh at him.
"You put her in the friend Zone. It's what we call it when someone likes a friend romantically, but the feelings aren't mutual." Dean explained as he stopped laughing and took his feet off of the table to put his elbows on it instead.
"So y/n has romantic feelings for me and when I told her that she was my best friend she…" he trailed off, thinking about it. "She thought I was telling her I didn't like her romantically?" Castiel asked while looking like his brain had been fried.
"Um hmm." Dean hummed then took a swig of whatever dark liquid was in the glass in his hand.
"So how do I tell her that I have feelings for her too?" Cas asked with a random look off into the distance.
"Just tell her." Dean answered with a shrug.
"How do I do that?" Cas asked.
"Okay…" Dean sighed as he sat his glass down and scooted closer to the table ready to get serious.
You stood in the steamy bathroom with a plush white towel wrapped around your torso as you looked in the mirror, examining yourself. A Small cut sat just above your right eyebrow. It now slowly oozed blood since your shower had steamed away the previous scab. Small bruises were slowly starting to show here and there. A hand shaped one on your upper arm from where the monster grabbed you and threw you into a table, and another one on your outer thigh. But the worst bruise was the one that covered your entire hip bone, the part of your body that made the hardest contact with the table. With a wince at your reflection, you turned from the mirror and left the bathroom, heading to your room.
When you opened the door you were greeted by the site of Cas sitting on your bed with his hands folded on his lip. He had been looking off into the distance, but when he heard you walk in he looked at you and smiled. He was now wearing a plain white t-shirt of Dean's. "Cas, whaaat are you doin' in here?" you asked, grasping your towel tighter.
"I need to talk to you, y/n." he answered simply as he stood up.
"Okay." You drawled out the word. As many times as you and Cas had been around each other and had long talks. None of them had been in your room. "I still need to get dressed though." you said with a small nervous laugh.
"Oh, sorry, of course." He said, realizing for the first time that the only thing hiding your naked body from his view was the towel around your torso that stopped just an inch below your butt. "I'll leave." He said as he started to walk out.
"You don't have to leave." You told him and he turned to give you a questioning look. "Just shut the door and turn your back while you talk." You told him nonchalantly even though you were shaking inside. Instead of questioning you or doing the polite thing like you thought he would he simply shut the door and kept his back turned. It took you a second for you to register that this was actually happening. Cas was standing in your room, waiting for you to get dressed. But eventually it sank in and you asked, "So what did you want to talk to me about?"
Cas stood perfectly still as you walked over to your closet and grabbed your only matching bra and panties set out of the small dresser inside. "I wanted to tell you that I think you misunderstood me earlier." He answered.
"What do you mean?" you asked as you dropped the towel and slid on the under things.
"Well, I've been made aware of this thing called a friend zone." He said as you were grabbing a tank top out of your closet, but your hand froze grasping the hanger when his words sank in.
"Uh…okay?" Was all you could get out of your mouth as you pulled the shirt off of the hanger then over your head.
"It means that one friend has romantic feelings for another that aren't reciprocated." He continued to explain.
You smiled to yourself as you pulled on a pair of comfy pajama bottoms. "I know what it means, Cas." You told him as you walked closer to him. "You can turn around now." He looked you up and down and for the first time, you noticed something other than confusion and softness in his eyes. What was it? No, it couldn't be… Was that lust you saw in his water blue depths? "What are you trying to tell me Cas?"
He swallowed hard, his throat flexing as he did. "I like you as more than a friend, y/n." he said as he rubbed his palms nervously on his pants. You couldn't think straight. All you could do was look into his eyes and attempt to calm the rapid beating of your heart. When he reached up and slid his hand over your jaw line and rubbed his thumb over your cheek, a sigh escaped your lips and your eyes slid closed. "And I think you like me too." His words make you open your eyes to look into his. "Is that an incorrect assumption?" he asked, looking like he might break if you rejected him.
"No, you're right." You whispered, as you lifted your hands to his t-shirt covered sides. "I've liked you for a long time now." It wasn't hard to admit, but putting yourself out there was a scary thing to do.
"I'd very much like to kiss you, y/n, if that's okay." he said making laughter bubble up from deep in your belly. No man had ever asked to kiss you before. He gave you a questioning look.
"You don't have to ask to kiss me." you barely got the words out before he was pressing his thin, soft lips to yours. It took a second to get over the neediness the kiss held, but when you did you gripped his sides and pulled him closer, kissing him back.
His lips massaged yours, kiss after sweet kiss, as one of his hands slid down to grip your hips and guide you back to your bed while the other entangled itself into your hair. When you felt your calves hit your mattress you unwillingly let him go to placed your hands on the bed and ease yourself down. Castiel followed, not willing to let his lips leave yours even for one second.
As soon as your back his the bed your hands were back on him, gliding down this sides to the hem of his shirt then back up, pushing the fabric up until he had to breaking this kiss for you to pull it over his head. You saw his eyes take in the thin fabric of your top before they looked into yours, an unasked question dancing in their depths. You kissed his neck and worked your way to his ear before you whispered, "Do what you whatever you want to do, Castiel. I trust you."
He smiled down at you as he pulled your top up and over your head then tossed it across the room. You expected his lips to return to yours, but instead he went for your neck and started kissing the sensitive skin below your ear. Your hands explored the smooth skin of his back as he worked his way down your neck to your collar bone then back up your neck to your lips. He sighed into the kiss when you let your fingers fiddle with the hair at the nape of his neck.
"Cas." you gasped, breaking the kiss when you felt his hand grip your breast over your bra. He trailed kisses from your mouth to the valley of your chest, looking up at you as he did, and then looked back down as he started kissing every inch of exposed skin. A moan left your parted lips at the sensations he was sending through your body.
But you whimpered when he sat up, taking his warmth with him. "How to I remove this?" he asked, running his hands over your chest to hook his thumb under the band of your bra.
"It's a front hook." You explained as you reached up and unhooked the clasp. He eagerly pushed the straps off of your shoulders and tossed the bra in the same direction as he had your shirt, making you smile. A hum of satisfaction left your lips as he resumed his exploration of your chest, your fingers imbedded in his hair as he did.
That's how the two of you spent the rest of the night, exploring each other, finding out what made the other moan and cry out in pleasure.
~~~~The Next Morning~~~~
"Your stitches got ripped out." You pointed out as you walked your fingers across Castiel's nude, taunt stomach while your head rested on his shoulder. His arm was wrapped around you to hold you loosely.
"It was worth it." he said making you look up at him to see him smiling down at you. "I take it you enjoyed our activities last night as well?" he asked, his smile a bit crooked.
You couldn't help the huge smile that took over your face. "Is there a word better than enjoyed?" you asked, moving to straddle his hips, careful not to hit his tender stitches.
"I've learned that words tend to fall short in situations like these." He said as he reached up and ran his warm hands over your shoulders then down your arms to lace his fingers through yours.
"Then let's not talk." You said with a toothy smile as you leaned down and pressed your lips to his.
