"Finn called me last night." Rachel said during breakfast a couple days later. Kurt and Santana just looked at her waiting for some more information, but Dani was slightly confused.
"Who's Finn?" The blonde asked when Rachel didn't say anything else.
"Rachel's ex-boyfriend who she's still in love with and hooks up eventually." Santana said naturally, but Rachel immediately intervened.
"Not true at all." The diva said making Kurt and Santana laugh.
"Right!" Kurt said sarcastically and Rachel rolled her eyes "But tell us, what you guys talked about?"
"Well, he wants the crew together again for some sort of reunion. He thinks we're way too much apart from each other and hardly ever talk and that wasn't what we wanted to happen after graduation. Also, Puck's joining the Army, so we should be there, say goodbye and wish him well, you know?" Rachel explained.
"What the fuck is Puck gonna do in the Army?" Santana asked shocked.
"Chill, Santana. At least they're gonna put some sense in Puckerman's head. He always needs some extra sense." Kurt said laughing a bit "I'm in."
"Already told Finn I'm going. What about you, Santana?" Rachel said and Santana didn't immediately respond. She looked at Dani for a little while and smirked.
"I'm going if Dani's going." Santana said happily and Dani choked on her coffee a little bit.
"Me? But, babe, it's your friends' reunion. What am I supposed to do there?" Dani asked confused.
"You're my girlfriend, I love you and I want my people to meet you." Santana said smiling and Dani's eyes shined at the latina's words "Also, you're kinda already part of the crew as you don't only date me, but is also friends with Midget here and Lady Hummel."
"Hey! Dani's even shorter than I am! That's not fair." Rachel complained.
"I really don't care." Santana said pretty much ignoring Rachel, which made Kurt laugh again.
"Ouch." The boy said still laughing and Rachel glared at him.
"Anyway, let's just come back to the main subject here, okay? Dani, will you come to Lima with us?" Santana asked staring only at Dani. When the blonde smiled, the latina pretty much figured out on her own what her girlfriend's answer would be.
"Well, I guess I could like a little trip to Ohio." Dani said sweetly and Santana immediately gave her girlfriend a quick kiss on the lips before mumbling 'I love you' to her.
"You guys are so damn sweet you'll make me a diabetic." Kurt joked and Santana rolled her eyes at him.
"Man! That's what I call a bad joke!" The latina said making everybody laugh.
Dani and Santana were at the Bushwick apartment packing their bags for the trip to Lima. Santana noticed Dani was way too nervous about pretty much everything and decided it would be for the best to talk about it before they left the next morning.
"Are you okay, babe?" The latina asked starting the conversation.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be fine?" Dani answered a little bit tense. Santana was about to say something else, but Dani didn't let her "Okay, maybe I'm not super fine. It's just that this whole trip is making me so freakin' nervous because it's gonna be the first time I'm gonna meet your friends and your parents, for God's sake! It's so weird for me that your mom actually wants to meet me and for me to be a guest in her house!"
"My mom is such a sweetheart, you'll see. She doesn't even know you, but she already loves you, and you know why?" Santana said kindly holding Dani's hands.
"I really don't." Dani said sincerely.
"She loves you because I love you, and because you make me so happy." Dani smiled and Santana kissed her gently "Don't freak out. Everything's gonna be just fine. And if you feel uncomfortable or anything in my house, I'll totally go to a hotel with you, okay?"
"That's not gonna be necessary. I actually want to spend time with your parents, I'm just scared." Dani said and Santana kissed her again.
"Good then. Are you feeling better now?" The latina asked and Dani nodded.
The two girls spend the rest of their packing time singing together. After they were done, Dani decided to ask Santana about her friends back in Lima. The blonde didn't know almost anything about them, except for Santana's best friend and ex-girlfriend Brittany.
"Are all your friends like Rachel and Kurt?" Dani said with a hint of curiosity in her voice.
"No, not every one of them is annoying." Santana answered making Dani laugh a bit "We're a weird group of people, all unique in our own way. It took us a while to become the family that we are today because of all that difference. We would never be friends if it wasn't for glee club."
"You guys have quite a story, right?" Dani encouraged Santana to talk a bit more about her former glee club fellows.
"So many things had happened I think we could write a book about it, or make a movie. We were always stealing each other's boyfriends and girlfriends, being slushied, fighting for solos or for popularity among other so many things. And there was so much drama involved all the time! Teen pregnancy, a lot of types of prejudice, rivalry, cheating, swearing… Oh my God, we had problems!" Santana said smiling at the memories "But you know what? Every single bad thing made us stronger. We all love each other and made a difference in ourselves as individuals or as a group. We learned about love, the real meaning of friendship, overcoming things, never giving up and we learned about dreaming and chasing our dreams. I wouldn't be the Santana I am today if it wasn't for my friends. They saved me because they never gave up on me. They showed me it was ok to be who I am, and that I'd be so much happier if I just accepted myself. I own them my freedom to be the person I truly am."
Dani knew Santana wasn't the type of girl who would get emotional about stuff, but the latina looked so fragile talking about her friends it made her want to hug her girlfriend, so she did.
"Thanks for sharing that with me." Dani said smiling "Your friends seem pretty amazing, I'm glad I'll meet them tomorrow."
"They'll be glad to meet you too." Santana smiled and took Dani into a lovingly hug "Can you promise me something, honey?"
"Anything." Dani said comfortable in Santana's arms.
"Don't ever tell my friends I get emotional talking about them. They'll prank me forever!" Santana asked and Dani laughed at her girlfriend's despair.
"I promise." Dani said sweetly and Santana mumbled a 'thank you' to her.
The couple didn't take long to fall asleep in each other's arms. Santana loved to hold Dani, and Dani loved to be hold by Santana. It was nice to think that some simple things are just perfect the way they are.
So I decided not to kill Finn. I really miss Cory on the show; he'll be forever in our hearts and my stories.
About the timing of the story, it's like we're just gonna trade 'The Quarterback' morbid reunion for a happy one where EVERYBODY goes back to Lima to see each other and say goodbye to Puck.
I'll explore this reunion for about two more chapters and then make some other chapters about Dantana's firsts in general. Already talked about first time having sex, first time saying I love you and now it's gonna be the first time meeting friends and family. Hope you like it!
