Chapter 3: The Avatar in a new world
Shadow: Welcome back mortals to Nitro Heroes Unite. Jeez we seriously need a better name.
Dani: Are you really still complaining about that?
Shadow: Yes. The name sucks. Even CA15 thinks it sucks but it's the only name he's got. But enough of that now we need a brief recap.
Dani: Last time we learned how Kira became the only Dino Ranger. She was captured by Plasmius and he tried to use her to gain all the Power Ranger powers but that backfired and now Kira has all of the Dino Thunder powers in her. Kira escaped and became the yellow ranger again. Then as the end of summer vacation she went to a new School, Empire City high and met Danny. They became fast friends and also unknowingly fought together as Phantom and Ptera against Plasmius. Later on Kira was confronted by her cousin Sarah Mercer who became the Dark Dino Ranger, Shade. They had a fight that was interrupted by Phantom. At the end of the fight Phantom revealed himself to be Danny because he knew Kira's identity.
Kira: I can't believe you said that on a single breath.
Katara: Neither can I.
Dani: Hey when your half ghost oxygen isn't that important.

At the current moment the universe was at peace and that was all Aang needed. His life had been hectic since he learnt he was the Avatar 2 years ago… okay 102 years ago. He had to go from hard core training to being trapped in ice for 100 years, to being placed in a war, to having to prevent another war and to helping find Zuko's mother.
Now he had a little time to relax and enjoy the rest of life. So what did the 114 year old boy do? He was currently on an island he created trying to teach the ways of the airbenders to the Air Acolytes.
The Air Acolytes were once a group of fans that learnt airbender knowledge to become closer to their hero, Aang, and even went as far as giving themselves tattoos and fighting alongside Aang. At first Aang didn't like this idea as he thought it was mocking his deceased people but when Aang realised that this was a new world, he realised that it was time changes were made.
Therefore he looked to his fan club and saw in them the potential to help rebuild the Air Nomads. But because of this new world they wouldn't be Nomads anymore but now Acolytes.
He was given the position of Head Monk, the leader or monarch of the Air Acolytes, and took it upon himself to teach his new followers the way of air but also to create new traditions.
He still believed that Air Acolytes should lead vegetarian lives so he kept that tradition. He also slightly kept the rule that men and women were to live apart but he kept the people in opposite ends of a single location instead of leave the males in the north and south while the women were left in the east and west. Only time males and females could live in the same house was if they were married or had siblings.
He taught the acolytes multiple airbender forms and traditions although he was the only person who could bend. He was also inspired by his past lives and created an airbender type military known as the Wind Warriors, a group of trained warriors like the Kyoshi Warriors, which would watch over and protect Air Temple Island as well as other Air Temples that Aang would improve upon later in his lifetime.
One thing Aang made sure to teach the rest of the Acolytes was fun and freedom. He made sure that the Acolytes preached fun and joy. He wanted the legacy of air to continue as well he wanted the fun to continue. When he first woke from the ice all he wanted to do was have fun and be immature but he was forced to mature during the war but he still kept that spark of airbender freedom in him and he wanted it to continue with the next generation of Air.
Right now he was with Katara and Sokka on the newly built Air Temple Island.
Sokka was impressed when he saw the Wind Warriors training and was impressed with Aang for training them. Although it had only been a few months, the Wind Warriors were good enough to face off against the Kyoshi Warriors and come out with only a few broken bones. Compare that to other elite fighting groups making them pretty good.
Katara was impressed with the way Aang had built up the Air Acolyte community and economy. Although she had been with him the entire time it was still pretty shocking.
The prince and princess of the Southern Watertribe were both incredibly proud of their younger friend.
"Wow Aang, I gotta hand it to you. You've been doing well with the Air Acolytes." Sokka said. "You literally built all this from nothing."
"Thanks Sokka." Aang said with a warm smile. "But it wasn't from nothing. The Foundation was laid by the Air Nomads; I just built up from their work."
"I think Gyatso would be proud of you Aang." Katara said.
Aang them beamed at his Girlfriend. "Thanks Katara, that means a lot to me." Aang said. "Gyatso always wanted to improve the Air Nomads, to carry on his dream is…"
Aang didn't finish than sentence because he felt a piercing pain in his core. Aang dropped to his knees and gripped his heart.
He then saw what looked like a Hallucination but seemed more real. He saw a large tree with what he knew held his worst enemy. He saw the sphere crack and he saw darkness escape.
"What's going on?" Aang thought while he struggled against the pain.
"I don't know but… I have a grave fear of it." A familiar voice spoke in his head. "You must head to the spirit portal and look at the tree."
"Who are you?" Aang asked.
He tried to remember where he heard that voice before. The voice was so familiar and warming. It was then that Aang remembered. He heard it in his childhood. That was the voice of his imaginary friend. He also heard it the day he was born. He heard a voice the day he was born and the day he died. The day he first died. He remembered the words. "We will be together for all your life times. And we will never give up."
"I am Raava the spirit of the Avatar." The voice, Raava said.
Aang understood now. She was literally the personification of all things good and light. And she was the reason he could bend all four elements without breaking apart.
"Head to the South Pole and open the portal. We need to know if my suspicions are true." Raava said to Aang.
"Aang are you okay?" Katara asked as she grabbed Aang.
"I think so… but we have to go." Aang said. "Pack and get ready. We'll be leaving on Appa first thing in the morning. Something's come up."
"Where are we going?" Sokka asked.
"To the Spirit World." Aang said.
Katara and Sokka were just silent but they could tell by the look on Aang's face that he was completely serious.
~00000~
It took them a few days but they eventually arrived at the South Pole. Aang had explained what he had seen and what needed to happen.
They spent the Night at Katara and Sokka's house before they set on their journey to find the Spirit Forest that was at the absolute centre of the South Pole.
When they arrived they were all shocked. Katara and Sokka had never seen plants like these in the South Pole nor did they expect a portal that lead to the Spirit World to be present and frozen in the Ice.
All Aang had to do to Open the portal was touch the ice and a blinding white light shot into the air.
"Come on." Aang said as he walked in.
Katara and Sokka then shared a nervous glance before they followed the airbender.
When they came out at the other side they were shocked. They were in a barren wasteland but they could tell it was the Spirit world. The world seemed to be filled with Energy.
Just standing there made the three feel more power and energy. Katara felt as if she could create one giant wave that could wash away an entire city while Aang felt as if he could use enough energy to reshape the planet.
"Aang, Katara, Sokka? What are you three doing here?"
The trio then turned and saw Yue floating down towards them.
"Yue?" Sokka asked.
"It's good to see you again." Yue said. "But what are you doing in the Spirit World?"
"I came here to investigate something." Aang said. "What are you doing in this part of the Spirit World?"
"I came here because I sensed something was wrong." Yue said. "Something has happened to the tree of time and I came to investigate."
"The tree of time?" Katara asked.
Yue then pointed forward and they all saw a large oak tree. It was even larger than the centre tree they saw at the Foggy Swamp.
"Well I don't see why we can't investigate together." Aang said.
The four of them then walked towards the tree.
There was a bit of an awkward silence between the moon spirit and her ex-boyfriend.
"So Sokka, how's your girlfriend doing in the mortal world?" Yue asked.
"Uh she's good… wait how do you know I have a girlfriend?" Sokka asked.
"I watched over you… all three of you I mean… when I became the Moon Spirit. I made sure to give you strength and courage when you needed it." Yue said.
"Oh well that was nice of you." Sokka said.
This was getting awkward fast but luckily they arrived at the tree.
"Okay we're here." Aang said before he gasped. "There."
They all looked and saw there was a large crack on a large purple dome that was in the middle of the tree. Something had gotten out.
"It looks like something's got out." Katara said.
"Something has."
They all turned looking for the source of the voice and when they saw the source they cringed.
There stood a monster. A man that looked like some king of Monster.
"Who or what are you?" Sokka asked.
"I am Mesogog." The creature said. "And I can tell you who has escaped that sphere. You know him as Vaatu…"
Aang literally felt as if a hand had grabbed his heart and squished it.
"Vaatu?" Aang gulped.
"Yes." Mesogog said in what sounded like a pleased tone. "Fortunately for you he's not here at the current moment. Unfortunately you have to deal with my friends."
A whole bunch of strange creatures (Tyrannodrones) then appeared in front of them along with a spirit monster. It was a four armed blue spirit that had four faces on one head. The spirit was in a loin cloth and had four large curved swords for its hands.
The sprit then charged followed by the Tyrannodrones with the intent of attacking.
Sokka pulled out his space sword, Yue and Katara pulled out water and Aang readied his staff.
They then attacked with the hope they could stand a chance against these new enemies. Sokka, Katara and Yue focused on the Tyrannodrones while Aang handled the big blue.
The only problem was that this blue titan was pretty much an Aang rip off. Each of its four faces allowed it to use a different element. Every time it changed elements a pair of eyes would close and the head would rotate by 90 degrees and the eyes would open on that head. To be honest the whole thing made Aang sick.
Fighting the spirit was hard because of its use of the four elements but what made it easy was that it could only use one element at a time and it seemed that rotating its head to many times, gave it slight dizziness.
Aang decided he'd use this to his advantage. He then made sure to always be ready to use more than one element. The first element he used the spirit would switch to counter that element and while it did that Aang would quickly change as well.
The spirit seemed to be getting slower and slower. It was dizzy beyond measure and that added to the confusion.
Eventually the spirit fell unconscious and landed on the ground with a large thud. Aang had been victorious.
"I did it." Aang said.
"How unfortunate." Mesogog said. "But know I have witnessed your power first hand unfortunately that power is too dangerous. I must consult my allies if we are to take care of you."
He then pulled out a strange spherical device but before he could use it Sokka's boomerang hit into it thus cracking it.
"You talk too much." Sokka said as his Boomerang flew back into his hand. "Let's take him Aang."
"You fool do you realise what you've done." Mesogog growled at Sokka.
Before Sokka could say a clever quip the sphere began to glow green with electric energy before it exploded and formed a swirling vortex.
Before anyone could react Mesogog was pulled in.
Aang and Sokka then felt the pull of energy. They tried to fight it and run but that didn't seem to be working. Sokka stabbed his sword into the ground and tried to use it to prevent himself from flying into the vortex while Aang used earthbending to keep himself firmly planted.
The unconscious four faced spirit then flew into the Vortex before the Tyrannodrones. Then it took a turn for the worse when Yue lost her hold and flew back as she knocked Katara back and they both flew past Sokka and Aang into the vortex.
"NO!" Sokka and Aang yelled but then they flew back.
They flew into the vortex before it closed.

Empire City was strangely calm, considering they had three known superheroes currently living in the city.
Life was going on as usual. Birds were singing, the business world was booming and Kira Ford was walking with three of her friends.
She was currently telling them about her cousin who had returned and became evil.
"So your cousin came back wanting revenge as a Dark Power Ranger?" Conner asked.
"Yeah. She was focused of killing me." Kira said.
"I'm surprised I never met her." Trent said. "She is my… adopted sister so to speak. I think I would have met her at one point."
"Maybe she was someplace else." Ethan suggested.
"Maybe." Kira said. "I just have to think of a way to save her."
The three guys stopped and stared at her.
"What?" Kira asked. "I didn't give up on Trent, the Mighty Morphing Rangers didn't give up on Dr O, The Wind Rangers never gave up on the Thunder Rangers and I won't give up on Sarah."
"I forgot that she got like this." Ethan said.
"Yeah me too." Conner said.
"How will you save her?" Trent asked.
"I don't know but I'll think of something." Kira said. "But for now let's move her from our thoughts and enjoy this peaceful day."
Before the others could agree the ground trembled below their feet. They then looked up and saw green lightning flash over the sky. They also saw green Inviso portals open all over the sky.
"Inviso portals." Kira said.
"We got to do something about this." Conner said before he, Ethan and Trent got into their morphing stances, momentarily forgetting they weren't Power Rangers any longer.
It was only when they touched the area where their Dino morphers were meant to be did they realise that they weren't the Dino Rangers.
"I'll handle this, guys." Kira said.
She then pressed a button on her morpher and new clothes replaced her current ones but they weren't her usual Power Ranger outfit.
She now had a Domino mask on that was glowing yellow. She was in a yellow jacket that had a picture of her Pterodactyl on the back and in a white shirt that had the Dino Thunder Logo on it. She was also in Yellow and Black pants and white boots.
Her three male friends just stared.
"Phantom hacked my Dino Morpher and gave me a new outfit for when I didn't want to be in my ranger outfit." Ptera said.
Pterodactyl wings then grew from her jacket and she flew into the air leaving the three shocked boys.
"Jeez I wish I remained a Power Ranger." Ethan said.
"You can say that again." Conner said.

When the sky lit up with green energy four teenagers fell out of the sky. Two were unconscious and landed hard on the ground and most defiantly broke some bones. One landed on the other side of the city in the Ocean and the last one awoke while he fell.
Aang opened and saw the ground approaching fast so he did they only thing he could think of and used his glider to save his life before he landed in an alley.
The Avatar then walked out and looked around and his eyes widened. Where was he? This place was strange. The world around him looked like it was made of metal. There were incredibly tall structures, people in strange clothing speaking a strange language and while metal carts rode through the streets without animals pulling them. They didn't look like Fire Nation war vehicles so Aang didn't know what they were.
"Where am I?" Aang asked.
He then saw a girl land in front of him. She looked completely strange and alien to the young airbender. She had golden hair and wore a mask that made her eyes glow yellow. She was in strange clothing. A yellow top that could be zipped over a white top with a strange symbol. She also had yellow and black pants and white shoes.
She spoke to him in a strange language.
"What? I don't understand." Aang said. "Where am I?"
The girl gave him a confused glance and it was then Aang realised that everything wasn't different. He was different.
The girl then spoke again but in a language that sounded similar to his own but was different. But he was still able to understand.
"I am Ptera. Are you okay?" She asked.
"I am Aang. I'm the Avatar." Aang said. "Where am I?"
"This is Empire City." Ptera said before she studied Aang.
"Where did you come from?" She asked.
Aang didn't know what he should say so he decided to say the truth.
"I came from the Air Temple Island." Aang said.
Ptera looked at him.
"You aren't from here are you?" She asked but before Aang could answer she spoke again. "Come with me I have a friend who I think you should meet."
She then spoke more words in her strange language before her clothes changed. (She was in her normal Ranger outfit now). She then ushered for him to follow.

Danny didn't know what to expect. When he saw the sky light up and he saw something shoot out into the ocean he thought he would see an alien or a mutant or something, like that, wow was he wrong.
In the ocean was an unconscious pretty girl. Danny could tell she was alive because the water seemed to be protecting her and her chest was moving up and down as if she was breathing. When Danny got closer he realised she wasn't human. She looked a bit like a ghost but Danny knew she wasn't a ghost.
She was unconscious so he gently pulled her out of the Water and flew into the air. He knew he couldn't take this girl to Fenton Works so he decided to take her to his other hide out.
He flew into the forest that connected Amity Park and Reefside and flew to Lake Eerie. Yeah that's right Empire City had an ocean a forest and a lake.
He then flew to the waterfall by Lake eerie and flew behind it to large metal door.
"Recognised Danny Phantom N1" a computerised voice said.
The door then opened and Danny flew in to the Phantom Cave.
It was a large cave/lab that Danny built deep into the mountain side. It wasn't only his cave as he shared it with a certain Yellow Ranger.
There was Power Ranger gear all over next to Phantom Gear.
Danny laid the girl down on a bed and was about to walk away to cook something before he heard the girl waking up.
He turned around and walked back to her.
"Hey are you okay?" Danny asked.
The girl looked at Danny with a confused expression.
"What?" She said before she took notice of where she was. "Where am I? Who are you?"
Danny stopped. That wasn't English it sounded like Mandarin but he knew it was mandarin. He'd probably be able to communicate somewhat to her by using Mandarin.
"I asked if you were okay." Danny said.
The girl the nodded.
"I'm Danny Phantom and you are?" Danny asked.
"My name is Yue." Yue said. "Where are we?"
"This is my HQ. I found you unconscious in the ocean and took you here to hopefully heal you." Danny said.
Yue sensed no deception in his voice but she was still confused as to why this Danny spoke like that. The language he spoke was similar to hers but was different.
"Thank you but I don't need to be healed. I am the Moon Spirit. My physical body is long gone and I have no need to…" She began but never finished because when she said the words Physical Body something happened.
She body literally changed. Her snow white hair became black. Her ghostly coloured chocolate skin filled with life until she looked like the average black person. He white clothes also changed into blue and purple robes and the girl started breathing.
"I can breathe." Yue said before she gasped and grabbed her mouth.
Danny looked at her. "Did you just speak English?"
"I'm alive?" Yue asked herself. "I'm speaking a language I never heard before? What's happened to me?"
Danny didn't know how to respond. And before he could make an attempt to he got a message.
He looked at his phone.
"Danny, I'm guessing you saw that energy surge?" Kira's voice said.
"Yeah I did."Danny said. "I also found someone after it."
"Same here. We'll arrive shortly cause we really need to compare notes." Kira said.

Pain. That was all Katara felt at the moment.
She opened her eyes and immediately wished she hadn't. Was her leg and arm meant to be twisted that way? Was there meant to be blood leaking from here arm? Was there meant to be a stab in her arm.
She looked at the wound and nearly choked. That was Sokka's sword. She couldn't see anyone around her. She was alone.
She couldn't use her voice.
She couldn't hold back the tears. She didn't know what made her feel worse the pain or not knowing where her friends where or if they were even alright.
"I'm… sorry Aang." She said quietly.
Then she saw someone or something. He or it was large with something big and bulky on its back. She could just barely make out blue material around its face as she slowly faded back into unconsciousness.
Before she went under the sword was removed from her arm and she was picked up.
Whoever or whatever this was, was here to help her.

Katara: Why do I get a sword in my arm while Aang and Yue come out without a scratch?
Shadow: Hey don't ask me I'm just the guy CA15 chose to be his first representative.
Dani: This chapter was different.
Kira: I'll say. Aang only had one battle. I had three and Danny had two.
Shadow: CA15 has his reasons. Now Readers here's a competition for you. Guess who the person who grabbed Katara was? Also come up with a chapter name for chapter four that will involve Danny, Kira and Aang, simple right.
Kira: And the votes are still open for who you want to be the leader of the team. Danny or I.
Dani: So what will happen next? Why is Yue human? How will Aang react when he meets Danny? Read, Review, Favourite and Follow to find out.
