A/N I'm so annoyed with myself for taking so long, all I'm going to say in this is: I'm soooooooooo sorry! Please don't leave me!
Oh, and since this is hopelessly entwined with my other HP fic that at some point I'm going to put a chapter order on my profile.
Also, forgot to mention, one of Emily's nicknames is Emu. That shows up once or twice in here.
Um, by the way, this includes some telepathy. That will be in these things: Ok?

Willow's POV
After that last thought hit me, I folder the corner of my page (oooohhh, I'm a rebel! Not.) and put it down next to me before getting up and walking around my majorly overstuffed bookshelf and over to my currently opened window.
I stared out of it for a few moments, looking at the gently swaying leaves of the tree (willow, of course) just outside of it. Then I slid the screen up and crawled out, onto the thick branches, and got comfortable on my favorite one, balancing with my legs stretched out and my back leaning against another conveniently placed branch. I leaned my face towards the sky, smiling and closing my eyes.
I lied like that for a few minutes, not even thinking, really; for once my mind was pleasantly silent, and I just listened to the wind and the leaves rustling, the occasional bird call and a quiet, male, slightly-familiar voice saying "What the heck?"
Wait, what?!
My eyes flew open and I saw a sudden movement somewhere above my head, coming closer.
When the form was perched on the branch about two feet from my face, I couldn't believe my eyes; and it seemed as though he couldn't either.
"Coryn?!" I exclaimed.
The barn owl nodded. Suddenly, I heard a gentle, curious, astounded, and slightly owl-like voice in my head, Willow?
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't startled. In fact, I fell off the branch backwards and barely managed to grab one below me. I hung there, dangling, before pulling myself up and climbing back to my original position.
Then I noticed a steady stream of, "Oh my gosh, sorry, I didn't mean to startle you! I don't know what happened there, that was really strange, are you ok? Willow?"
I looked up saw the large, dark, concerned eyes of the owl staring right into mine, and nodded. Coryn seemed to sigh in relief, then said, "Good, I was scared you were hurt and... wait, how can you understand me?!"
"I have no idea, Coryn, but did you speak to me telepathically there?" I noticed my voice had the same owl-like quality of my friend, and briefly wondered if this was like parseltongue, but for owls.
His head cocked to the side, and after a second he replied, "Yes, yes I did." Then, in my head, Can you hear this?
I closed my eyes and concentrated. Yepper. I thought, then reopened my eyes and saw Coryn's slightly startled expression. We stared at each other, then we began to grin and telepathically yelled, This. Is. So. COOL!
He hopped onto my head and bent down to look into my eyes, as he had done before, and we started laughing, me in my normal voice, him in his somewhat endearing, and definitely interesting and distinct, breathy, hooting laugh.
"Willow?"
Coryn and I jumped slightly, hearing the shell-shocked voice of my cousin inside the gaped at us, and we stared back.
Well, at least you didn't fall off the branch this time.
I had to smile at that, and the grin grew right back. Coryn hopped down to my shoulder and cocked his head questioningly at Emily.
"Emily, this is Coryn." I said. "I'll explain in a second. Coryn, this is Emily."
Coryn swiveled his head between me and Emily a few times, then asked, "Is she your twin? 'Cause it sure looks like it."
I laughed. "No, she's not my twin, she's my cousin. Although that's not the first time we've gotten that question."
Poor Emily was absolutely bewildered. "Wait, what? What'd you say? All I heard was a bunch of owl noises."
My head cocked in a similar manner as my friend's. "Really? Ha, I knew it!" I said, doing a fist pump. "Now I can talk to snakes and owls!'
"You can talk to snakes?!" Coryn and Emily said in unison.
My face fell slightly as I realized what I had just said. "Erm... Well, Emily, remember that time I told you that someone brought a huge banana snake to school?"
"Yeah."
"Yeah... that's when I found out. Then it happened last night. You know that 'dream theory' I was talking about? It's real. I'm not kidding, I was in the Harry Potter universe last night, Prisoner of Azkaban, to be exact. I'm going to Hogwarts!"
Emily resumed her gaping at me. "My cousin is actually a witch?" She whispered.
"Well, I am in at least one universe."
There was silence. I sighed. "Let me guess, you're going to tell me that it was just a dream, while thinking I'm insane, right?"
Emily shook her head. "No, actually. In fact, I found out about three days ago that I go to the post Deathly Hallows universe practically on command; in fact, I was just there. Harry, Ron and Hermione were telling me about Coryn, but they said nothing about you being able to talk to him, though Harry did mention that he thought he was your soul animal. I was going to tell you later and see if I could tote you along."
Now me and Coryn were gaping.
Then I said, "Is this inherited or something? Is our family not telling us something?"
We all laughed. Then Coryn decided to sum things up.
"So, you and I can both go to a fictional universe through dreams, one that you know about already, going off of certain context, and your cousin can travel to a later version of that same universe on command, and both have started only recently. You can also talk to snakes and, apparently, owls, as well as have a telepathic connection with me and packed last night to go to a school to learn magic. This is strange."
"What?" Emily asked.
I absentmindedly replied, "He was just summing it all up." Then turned back to Coryn. "Yeah, I know about it. There's this great book series on Harry Potter, as well as movies, but I'm only on the third movie and it's not all that amazing. I can show you the books later, so you know what's coming, because I saw a few connections straight from the book, although I did see quite a few inaccuracies. To add, I've also met and started a friendship with the Golden Trio, found out they're, apparently, actually a Golden Foursome, because they mentioned a person named Max and said that she was Draco's cousin, and it may be turning it into a Golden Fivesome, because Harry told me that he had a feeling I'd become a great friend and asked me if I would sit with them on the train; he looked rather hopeful. I've met the Weasleys, impressed Mr. Ollivander to the point of scaring him, among a few others quite a few other things I don't really want to list right now "
I immediately rattled off our current list to Emily, and we all looked at each other.
I shrugged. "Well, I always did say we were different. And mum and dad have been telling me to get a new friend; found one!"
We laughed.
"Hey, wanna try going now?" Em asked.
"Oh God yes!" I said, and Coryn nodded frantically.
Just then, mum called up. "Girls! Breakfast is ready!"
"After breakfast!" i finished. Sorry Coryn, but if mum saw me with an owl perched on my, she'd freak out. Wait out here, I'll see you later.
Ok! He replied, and hopped off my shoulder.
I crawled back through the window and Emily and I thundered downstairs, where, over breakfast, I told her what had happened. Mum and dad chuckled; I had told them it was just a dream, to which Emu and I shared a chuckle.
"Hey, mum, are we doing anything today?"
She thought for a second. "Well, at about 9:30 we'll be going down to the river; your Aunt Cassy's here for a few days and wanted to meet there."
Emily looked at the clock, which read 9:15. "Sounds great!" She said. "Thanks for breakfast!" She said, hugging my mum before putting her dishes in the sink and rinsing them off."
"Yeah, thanks!" I said, copying her, then we ran back upstairs.
Coryn! I called, and he flapped in, landing, once again, on my shoulder.
"Ok, before we go, we should probably change into actual clothes." Emily said.
"Right." Was my simple reply.
So while Coryn turned towards the wall (ever the gentle-owl), Em and I threw on our usual jean-shorts-and-ninja-related-t-shirt.
We smiled as we realized we were both wearing our Ninja's Secret Guide one.
"Come on, let's go!" I called, and Coryn flapped onto my shoulder while Em grabbed my hand.
"This may feel a little weird, and we'll have to be quick.. We only have fifteen minutes, and I'm not sure if time runs the same, so it'll probably be intros, a little small talk, and a see you later. Let's see if this works." She mumbled the last bit, a look of utter concentration coming over her features. Not long after, I felt my toes tingling and, as that feeling spread, a few jabs in the ribs, like someone poking me there in warning. Since I kept my eyes opened and turned my head towards my cousin, I saw her form starting to disintegrate into a bright teal mist. Turning my head quickly, I saw that Coryn was shrouded in sky blue mist (fitting, since he's a creature of the sky) and, looking down, saw my legs cloaked in dark purple.
Darkness took over, the air seemed to grow cooler, and I felt a familiar whoosh, similar to plunging into a pool.
Slowly, a bedroom came into focus and I looked around. There were three forms on the bed in front of us, and Em was still holding my hand.
Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it worked. Coryn said.
I laughed, gaining the attention of Harry, Ron and Hermione.
I smiled sheepishly, and they grinned.
"Hey Willow, Emily, Coryn!" Hermione said.
"Heya." I said in a slightly small, shy voice. I don't know why I was suddenly shy, but I think it was because I started laughing for no reason obvious to them.
"What were you laughing about?" Ron asked me.
I blushed. "Oh, um... Coryn was just stating the obvious. He said 'well, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that worked.'"
Em, Harry, Ron, and Hermione laughed. "Yeah, he could give Fred and George a run for their money in the snarkiness department." Harry said, still laughing.
Coryn and I grinned. Thanks! I told him.
Anytime. He replied, winking at me.
"Oh, happy birthday, Willow! 11, I do believe?" Harry said.
"Yeah. You, too! 18 now, right?"
"Yep!"
"Pretty neat our birthdays are on the same day, huh? I was pretty happy when my dear cousin here turned me into a Potterhead and I found out... she did explain the whole you're-a-book-series-in-our-world thing, right?"
"Yeah. I read the first book, it was fairly accurate." Hermione replied.
I sighed in relief. "Good, I didn't just make myself look like a fool."
We laughed and, after a little comfortable silence, Em said, "Well, we'd better go. We only had fifteen minutes and I want to get back ASAP in case time runs differently or something."
"Ok, sounds good. See you guys later!" Ron said.
"See ya!" Em and I replied in unison, waving, and Coryn said "Goodbye!" and flapped a wing. Then Emily grabbed my hand and, next thing I knew, the darkness returned and receded, leaving us in my room.
I couldn't stop grinning.
A/N Semi-rushed ending, but I had some time and didn't want to leave you guys hanging any longer. Anyway, this chapter in Emily's POV will hopefully be up on Discoveries later, but my aunt's coming and I don't get to see her very often, so no promises.
Hope you liked it! Now I have to go... It's 2:43 AM and if my grandparents or dad catch me up and writing, I'm dead meat in a can. And since my brother is currently in the same room playing minecraft without headphones, I'm a bit surprised they haven't yet. *Jumps at something sounding like a footstep* See ya!
