Chapter Two (Part 1):

Setting Up Two Sound Souls. How About Some Practice?

It has been three days since Kayleigh had officially enrolled at the DWMA. Bit by bit she had slowly gotten used to her new home, not to mention all of the crazy shenanigans at school. The work itself was easy and the material wasn't too complicated (she had pretty good study habits back home), but there was one time during the school day where Kayleigh and her friends could really relax and have fun. The brunette had a free session at one o'clock, and upon discovering this, asked Lord Death if she could borrow an empty classroom.

Room 207, located right next to the rooftop stairs. At the moment it was covered in cardboard boxes and white sheets covering large objects. Valkyrie was helping Kayleigh unpack some of the boxes.

"I can't believe you got your parents to ship all the equipment from the studio back home!" the red-head exclaimed as she pulled out a mixing board from one of the smaller packages.

"Not exactly." Kayleigh was unfolding mic stands near the window. "They couldn't send some of the larger equipment, like the acoustic piano or drums, but I'm glad most everything else made it. And with no damage either. I can't wait to start recording again!" The brunette smiled brightly.

"Yeah! Just like old times!" Valkyrie agreed.

"With Sandra and Will arguing and Skylar and Grey barley being able to talk to each other? Sounds about right." Kayleigh commented and the two girls burst out into laughter. After a few seconds they both sighed and continued unpacking their load. "Y'know, this whole thing almost seems surreal, and I can't believe how fast time flies."

"I know the feeling. We've all grown up so much, Skylar and Grey liking each other, Will and Sandra…well, there's not much to say there. And then you and I; it feels like I've known you for an eternity. I guess kindergarten was a while ago, but still." The red-head giggled slightly, unloading a skinny keyboard out of a box. There was a moment of comfortable silence before an annoying bell rang in the hallways.

Ding! Dong! Dead! Dong!

"Well, I'll see ya later Kayleigh! Did you tell everyone else about this stuff?" Valkyrie picked up her backpack.

Kayleigh picked up her navy-green paper-boy bag (Her old backpack was falling apart) and exited the room with her partner. "No, I just told everyone to meet up here after school. I wanted to see their faces!"

"Ha! That'll be priceless!" Valkyrie looked as excited as ever. The two entered their next class. This afternoon was going to be great.

A/N: That took a lot longer than it should have. ^.^' And it's not even done…I can't decide whether or not to continue using the main cast or not, which will slightly change the plotline. Slightly. Anyway…thanks for sticking with me and my busy schedule! I really appreciate it. I'm going to try and get another chapter up within a week or so. Until then, happy reading! Midnite out 3
